I agree but even Classicfags will put Adventure on a pedestal just because it "tried" to replicate the momentum based gameplay the best out of the 3D games even though that attempt could hardly be called good.

Heroes might not be as momentum based (though it still has it despite what uninformed haters might say) but I really appreciate how complex it is, how it tried to move the 3D gameplay forward, and how it's just one consistent playstyle.

Honestly? As much as I'd love a return to the Adventure formula, I don't trust current Sonic team to do it justice. They can't do anything without their precious boostpads, so actually being able to explore a 3D space freely is way beyond their current capabilities.

Sonic Adventure 2 already brought it more in line with the normal modern Sonic formula. I don't think they're ever going to do another Sonic Adventure 1

I'm watching Sonic X in its original language with subs and it's generally better than I ever thought it could be.

He can be chill as long as you agree with him, but if you say anything at all that even slightly goes against his very rigid ideals of what Sonic should be then he will chew you up and spit you out. Utopia is a great project, but I can't see Lange working well at all with an actual SEGA-funded team. They would want Modern green-eyed Sonic, a story, voice acting, the works. I feel that Lange would up and walk out before willingly touching Modern Sonic.

Can you blame them, though? Sega just thinks they can trot out Classic Sonic without putting any work into respecting who Classic Sonic is. Now that Mania's made Generations look like shit their lazy port over from that game they did for Forces will look even worse.

Nah son. I have a strong preference for the classic games but I will not tolerate someone in charge completely disregarding modern sonic because of some intense neurosis they're suffering over a blue hedgehog in their brains. It's not about being "threatened".

It would be projecting if him being stubborn was false, if Lange was mutual, and everyone just labeled him as a jerk on the mention of his name. But he's a very fiesty person that likes to fight until he gets his way half of the time.

Sonic's actually kind of shy on the Japanese side of things. It's not that Amy bothers the piss out of him, so much as he evades reciprocating feelings and would prefer not to get all touchy-feely about emotions and just focus on what's ahead of him at that moment. He genuinely seems to care for Amy as a close friend, but in the way he'd never actually express love for her personally.

Isn't it weird how Sonic was created with a Western-style personality but the way he expresses himself since Adventure onwards has been more Japanese?

Well, even the english side of things changed up Sonic's personality to be a bit more blunt and snarky. It's just when Pontac and Graff kicked in that they pushed it to the extreme.

Sonic X also really didn't help, since it flanderized everyone excessively and even when the Japanese characterizations weren't as retarded, they still got really bad. I blame X, Heroes, and Rush a little for the reason why everyone believes Amy's a sociopathic yandere for Sonic.

you could pretty easily combine the two sides of this for the "Amy harasses Sonic to get a rise out of him" scenario, with Sonic getting particularly defensive about it for that exact reason and getting mad instead of addressing it maturely.
