I dont see issue with it other than Janitor is a station wide job and Maids tend to focus within a single place. This might cause issues but it may also give reason for janiborgs to actually be used.

Gumshoe has a pretty good reason to exist though, since it's an opt-in for the Noir gene. How would a maid be substantively different than a janitor besides starting outfit?

For the record I think having 4 different doctor titles like Surgeon, Nurse and Emergency Physician is dumb too and would probably support their removal.

I dont see much issue with medical alt titles because it tells the other player what they are focused on. When I go to medbay I dont expect nurses to do surgery, but I do expect it from Surgeon titled players.
Anything that opens more paths for round narratives to branch out is a good thing in my book.

People only joining to ERP isn't really very different than people who join and AFK in the bar (like the assistant clique from 2016)

I have never seen sec banned for afking if there is nothing, or engineering after setting up the engine 2 minutes in. It only happens for people who antag roll and log if they dont get it, or for head roles.

Those are two different reasons for going braindead, though. With ERP, you can ERP whenever you want and then go afk. Whereas the phenomenon you're describing is how people go afk specifically in Extended/Antagstended, which people do for entirely different reasons.

In addition, I personally don't want to cater to people who "play" exclusively to live out their fantasies and pretend to be cutesy or so they can RP traps, but it doesn't really matter what either of us personally think
