Get a shitbox then keep it running

1. Buy the shittiest shitbox with manual
2. Buy tools.
3. Drive it and fix it
4. Now you are certified car mechanic.

1. Get a manual
2. Find some isolated place where you can practice
3. Don't come out on the road until you can shift and rev match like a GOD, OPTIONAL: with Intial D music blaring
4. Get covered in pussy

>How can I learn to car?
Get a manual civic for 3k and do

Attached: 4chan_board_o.png (997x984, 1.08M)

>OPTIONAL:

YOU MOTHERFUCKER

Car car = new Car();

1. Buy a shitbox with a stick, and tools for service
2. Buy (or download) service manual for it
3. IMPORTANT: install stereo, so you can intensify eurobeat, or hardbass
4. Put christian cross (or anything else) on rear view mirror.
5. Don't forget about shovel or baseball bat, it is important tool.

Also dash cam is good way to cause collisions.

this

driving a manual is good but I don't know why people have to act like a faggot about it

MMMOODDDDDSS

Only in US, in my thirdworld manual is standart, because we have hills/mountains, and 1L engines.

poo

Install Gentoo. After gentoo you will be able to compile car by yourself

ayye

Yes, this. And tree stinky thing is also mandatory.

It's an American problem.

For starters 90% of your cars are autotragic, so you automatically assume they're superior.
Secondly, you Americans have several hour long commutes and terrible traffic, situations where automatic might be preferable, at least where I'm from I haven't had to deal with either.

gas

why Veeky Forums loves twingo?

Youtube (free)
Service manual (~$10)
Toolsets (~$100)

Because it is 1000$ shitbox, that is built like tank, since it is Renault. And looks qute

those are enough reasons.
I will buy one

Its cute :3

Okay !Veeky Forums, rate my car.

Dad's hand-me-downs, only has 70k kilometers, 1.5l and 88hp petrol engine, will upgrade to 112hp when I have the time.

Also autogas because fuck you I want a bomb inside my car

Attached: almera n16 2000.jpg (575x431, 35K)

I have lots more fun and enjoy the ride way more when driving stick than with auto
autofags are missing out, it's no surprise people are really loud about it

It is slavic tradition, if you have dashcam collisions will occur.

Twingo a cute

When carrying baseball bat, carry baseball glove as well.

Or boxing glove.

Your dads car has some rice on it.

>Also autogas because fuck you I want a bomb inside my car
I saw Suzuki Alto/800 with LPG conversion.
No, I am not indian.

Petrol is already a bomb on 4 wheels you numbskull, LPG won't change that, at least if that blows up only your rear end will blow up instead of the entire car.

This is why diesel is superior. Too bad VAG ruined them for everyone now.

If total beginner get the workshop manual for your car, but ALSO buy a hard copy of a Haynes or Gregories manual. They arent as precise but they have lots of basic mechanics advice in there for non-mechanics.

Attached: haynescivic.jpg (2583x3307, 559K)

They should made capacitive sensor in pipe, rather than relying on steering.

What the fuck are you talking about? Renault have higher failure rates than any jap, korean, and most euro cars. Fucking trash.

Attached: 129848582235.jpg (500x300, 106K)

Higher than Benz or Peugeot? Checkmate nigger.

independent.co.uk/life-style/motoring/most-reliable-cars-2017-a8029056.html
Yes, Toyota is more reliable, and Kia-Hyundai is not bad either, but they don't cost 1000$ used, and parts aren't sold in every shop.
And main problem in Renault are DP0 automatic, NissanCVT, and dCi.

No, true, i might take a renault over them, but my point stands that its stupid to recommend any eurotrash to someone for their first shitbox they'll be repairing.

Not to mention repairing euro cars you're likely to require more custom tools than a jap/korean/us/whatever brand, and they generally have more points of failure that a beginner doesnt want to deal with, such as complex electronics.

Attached: 1268827665181.jpg (500x373, 74K)

Renault and Peugot turned to shit in the 00s, but they are getting better now.

Get the app Torque and a $30 bluetooth ODBII adapter. Google everything the car's computer lets you read that you dont know.

>ctrl f

SHIGGY DIGGY

My next car is probably a Mazda, love what they're doing with their ICE's

Why not a kia? Mazda is for those who just want a car

In yurop the parts of yuro cars are cheaper and more abundant though.

>mfw Škoda
Brutal, after 2013 their Octavias have been fucking beasts.
They used to be called Discount VW's here, VW can't even compare to them now.

>Mazda is more of an appliance than Kia now

Really now?

Quite equal really. Nothing special about either

Yeah, good call. I concede Renault arent as bad as i remember, especially the reliability stats for their smaller cars seem quite good. Guess i'll eat shit, never thought theyd be reasonable.

Attached: 1120217626374.jpg (640x454, 50K)

Why?

Good transmission
Good petrol engines
Plenty of spare parts
Look good.
Fantastic handling.
Cheap, not as cheap as Kia though, but worth the extra.

Faggotry aside, Miata is a real fun car to drive.

Attached: Mazda-3-astina-hatch-2016-red-(7).jpg (1139x643, 113K)

Also black ice.

Buy good tires for whatever shitbox you have.

it makes any car fun to drive. An automatic FWD 4cyl econobox is a dreadful car to drive with an automatic but it turns fun when you have a manual transmission.

Where are you from?
In mine shithole we have euro, japs and korean shitboxes.
Japs and korean shitboxes are easy to work on, as well, as on Renault and partially VW/Skoda. Peugeot/Citroen is nightmare to work on, because it has impossible number on torxes and engine bay is aweful.

>that its stupid to recommend any eurotrash to someone for their first shitbox they'll be repairing
>OP wants to learn a car
The only way to learn Linux - install Gentoo/LFS. The only way to learn cars - fix them by yourself.

>mfw I own a chevrolet
Well it's not originally from chevrolet, so I hope it's OK.

get a v6 auto with sports shifting so you can have fun, but also eat a full breakfast comfortably while commuting to work.

Attached: 1331106203022.gif (478x218, 1.43M)

Have they fixed the rust issues though?

>eat a full breakfast comfortably while commuting to work

Attached: 16.png (200x200, 54K)

What's the point of manual if you live in LA and commute to work? Honest question

Funny, I had to take a 4 year apprenticeship, with a month of community college class time with exams each year to get certified.

Eating while driving is great.

I don't know, I don't live in your shithole where I have to spend 4 hours every day to work and back.

I quite like having a job 4 minutes away by foot in the public sector, nepotism fuck yeah

But only if car new, or old shitbox was washed with alcohol to clean it up.

Faster cars aren't necessarily more fun cars user. That's why the miata sells so well despite being a 150hp car.

Autocross aka gymkhana.
Competitive driving where you pay for your mistakes not with death or maiming, but with enduring the shame of driving back to the start with a cone stuck under your car.
Google your nearby car clubs.

Rate my ride /g/. No bully pls.

t. autotragic

Mate I swear to fucking Jesus I'd throw a knife your way through the window if I ever saw you swerving or doing stupid shit while eating on the road near me.
Honest to fucking God, I've seen people flat tires on the middle of the road and beat the living daylights out of the driver with metal pipes for just holding a phone.

Is manual basically Veeky Forums's Gentoo/Arch where they pointlessly make their lives harder while touting how much better it is?

Shit.

t. lacks a leg and an arm

>he thinks Gentoo and Arch are hard

Try slackware or LFS or Alpine
You fucking casual.

>Several hour long commutes

lolno

I got a newsflash for you user.

Both Gentoo and Arch have fully functional GUIs by default, you don't even have to use CLI at all with them.

Pretty good analogy. Auto costs you a few % in power/fuel but provides the luxury of not having to futz around with a clutch. Much like gentoo/arch, manuals are sometimes worth it (long drives, no traffic, racing) but most of the time people just meme about it.

DELET

Manual makes my dick grip harder

damn, stallman would slash this guys tires for not mentioning GNU anywhere on that car

>you'll just have to imagine the green text
got shitbox from 2002
would not start in winter
recharged battery suspiciously quickly in 6 hours so new battery solved it
bit later parking sensor would beep in reverse constantly
it came and go depending on weather
now
would not start again two times in the last month
one of them battery completely drained, the other not completely
both times car was parked for at least 4 days
I google up parasitic draw
measure idle current when everything locked and left to sit - 16 mA

yeah, and thats where I am now
I keep eye on battery voltage how it drops over no driving days
but I had no chance to let it sit for longer

also fucking detector of open door on drivers side is broken

meh, I kinda wished to learn to car
and I am learning
but its all dirty and so little space and complicated and scary

Kek. True

No joke, ever rode one of those old farm equipment or old trucks? You had to wrestle the damn thing to shift gears, in half a year your arm would be larger than your head.

opel.

My dads bronco is like that. It takes 5 seconds to complete a fucking shift

...

Public library has a shit ton of car manuals. Take a smart phone to photo the relevant pages.
