I haven't been on Veeky Forums in over a year. I come back and the first thread is someone calling BMWs "Bimm"s with a stanceworks photo, and the worst part is NOBODY called him a faggot yet. What the fuck happened to you, Veeky Forums?

I own a '95 540/6. I got it stuck in mus today. I spent five hours waiting for a town truck to winch me out.. while I waited I occasionally tried to rock myself out.

After I was pulled out when I got on the highway the car shook. I assumed it was just the heaps of mud cacked to the wheels so hit the forst self wash place but the car still shook.. the whole car not just the steering wheel

when i got home I rolled up onto a sidewalk to look underneath and I think I saw my two front sway bar bushings were mangulated...

Now the other thing I clearly noticed was the car handled squishy when bobbing the steering back and forth.. imprecise like marshmallowy so busted sway bar bushings seem like that could be responsible for that BUT will that also cause a shake?

recently replaced all the front end bits except for Upper Control Arms and those have Black Powerflex bushings..

lower(aluminium) center drag link (steering box with pitman and idler arms no rack) bother tie rods are all new within a month or so.

what else would be vulnerable that I could have croaked while trying in vain to rock my car out of deep mud? the rear end did hop a few times though I tried to limit that..

I'll have it looked at tomorrow but what else could contribute to a shaky vibration?

just stipulate the car was fine before this event apart from bad wearing on the Winter tires.

Is this a fair price for a S52 swapped 325is E30? Just feels weird paying $9000 for a 30 year old 3-Series.

the m73 fucking sucks.
Get another one with an m52/m62

Is it a good idea to buy a e30 not m3 right now? If i were to get one, I'm planning to keep it stock and maybe even restore it and drive it as a daily. What do you guys think?

Sounds like the tow truck driver towed it out from the lower thrust arms, probably bent them.
OEM ones have stickers with a big yellow DONT FUCKING TOW FROM HERE DINGUS sticker on them but they get caked in dirt.

Any you guys got experience with the 318is e36 ?
Thinking of upgrading from my pos civic.

Engine is a bit hit and miss in terms of reliability.
They're nice and light though, extemely well balanced but it's still only a 140hp 4 pot under the hood. You'll be blown away by basic E36 320 sedans on the straights, but the 318is is a bit on the nimbler side due to the weight loss.

Thanks man , i've been looking around for pre-96 e36's since their lighter. youtube.com/watch?v=hjGgj9ldhMw
Video that brought me on to thinking of getting a 4 cyl

Does anyone know a fix for the whining steering wheel?
>E92
Oh and BMW is the best because of the steering feel.

If you are set on getting a 4 cyl E36, the IS is the way to go. It isn't THAT much slower or weaker, loses about 10hp and 10nm of torks when compared to the 320 yet it is a bit lighter, about 100kg or so.
Especially if you're in the US where the M50 engines, if I remember correctly, used cast iron blocks instead of aluminium.

Are you allowed to drive non ussr cars in yugoslavia?

I know that feel user. I want e38 in black so fucking bad. And as time goes there are less and less of them each day. Theyre modern classics already and ones that are well maintained cost quite a fortune.

tfw just getting my first real job soon, will try to cop the e46 m3 before it skyrockets in price

oil the joints
release the nut under the column panel

I'd trade my E38 if you had an E32. E32 is love, E32 is life.

Attached: IMG_3246.jpg (3264x2448, 1.94M)

IMO they’re a little high strung to daily but you’ll definitely have fun if you can afford the upkeep

E3X BMWs are the only good looking ones.

Attached: 8709953618_7b7ab7a389_b.jpg (1024x683, 274K)

My reason of considering e30 is because they are easy to get fixed with cheap parts? I won't be needing a car for the next few months yet, so I can leave it in my garage and slowly fix it up until everything is in good condition. Am I imagining it too well that I forgot the negative stuff?

More like gypsymw

no I hooked the hook to the front tow hook myself .. it was slack snapped a couple of times but this wouldn't do anything.. I was deebly buried in thick mud and tried repeatedly to get out so the resistance on the front struts I assume pushed the end links hard enough to break or at least unseat the mounts..

Updating this my problem was exclusively wheel weights had all stripped off from spinning the wheels in the mud

The only good thing about BMW is the roadsters.

Prove me wrong.

That's a pretty clean engine bay wiring wise for a s52 swap. If it runs good and doesn't have rust I'd say $9000 is thousands under market.

Do it. e30's are a great introductory classic to learn on. And will probably hold its value or appreciate as you own it.

Good driver, superior handling. The low horsepower teaches you how to handle your rpm correctly, improving shifts and overall ability. The m42 is a reliable engine as long as maintained properly.

only buy that car if you are an enthusiast who is interested in that body shape & consider that to be the pinnacle of the BMW brand. No offense but I think that the e46 body shape is far superior to the e30's ;)

sorry I went full retard and thought you wanted an E30 M3

Pretty much. e30 to e39, the only cars outside that decade I would consider appropriate would be the e9 and the e46 m3. The M1 was pretty dope too.

Yup. Wheel weights. I drive my 325ix in snow enough that I get wobbles if the front rims fill up with snow and then melts when sitting, collects on the bottom of the rim, freezes overnight and becomes a gigantic pain in the ass over 80 kmh until pressure washed off with hot water.

e46 is no doubt the best post e3x looking car to date. But the lightness and handling of the e30 cannot be denied. Serious tossability.
