So I had a look at the montage. No one here owns an echo or a yaris? Or are they just not proud of it? I thought those things were primo shit boxes.

Most of the time the people who drive those aren't really enthusiast enough to post in a dedicated toyota thread on a korean crabfishing forum.
Or they are enthusiast but like you said, may be too embarassed. Either way I wish we had some. We welcome everyone here in the friendly Veeky Forums thread.
>more like /Late Night Wawa Hooning/ edition /general/
>also Paid off the tC finally about a week ago. Took a year total, pretty happy I don't have to worry about it anymore. Now I'm looking at older gx470's to haul shit around so I can keep the tC nice and neat. They're typically around the 10-15k range for pre 2009 around the 100k mile mark.
There's a small number of owners on Veeky Forums that have them but they aren't proud of it enough to post on here or they don't like generals in general.

So after someone backed into my AE101 I had to fix the rear bumper rail, it was bent on the corner. I was also missing the headligt adjustment mechanism on the driver side, so I took one from my parts car. Inspection time today!
>I was also missing the headligt adjustment mechanism on the driver side Lol same. I was missing spacers on the driver side. It made my driver side blind everyone in front of it. I jerry rigged it with zip ties. I trimmed the tails after taking the pic
I only got mine a couple months ago. I never looked at them before cause I never thought I'd be able to afford one in a nice enough condition. But as I was browsing craigslist absentmindedly, one popped up for $1500. Maybe there was a recent price drop for some reason.

KURWA MAĆ! Fucking tyre shop. I only wanted to check my brakes...
aight boys going to go look at this tomorrow, any advice? I just plan to test drive, go through all the gears, check underneath etc. but not sure what to look for specifically.
the body is straight, front ground effect is cracked, needs paint, some interior panels missing, t top leaks, horn/radio do not work. there is a short somewhere. if I leave the car parked for more that a few days I disconnect the battery. the engine was completely overhauled including high compression pistons. runs great. I have a print out from the shop that did the work detailing what was done.
I'd have to get new wheels since they are ugly but would dealing w/ the ttops and horn/radio be annoying? im always a little sketched buying cars and worrying that they'll never start
i have about $1000 to spend on my first car. i'm trying to get a second job so i can save up a little more but i really just need some kind of transport. is this worth checking out?
open the doors and look where they join for rust. check frunk and trunk for rust check the oil level check the sealing condition around the t-tops. check for aftermarket electrics, my old aw11 had an aftermarket immobiliser and central locking, one of them was draining the battery. new aw11 doesn't have either its good.
i think twosrus has t-top seals, both mine have been hardtop so no idea there.
Carson Nelson
Oh hell nah that money pit isn't worth 3k unless it has like 50k miles. I'd pay 2k for that if I was desperate enough for an mr2.
He means the battery is constantly being drained. He needs to disconnect it so it'll have enough power.
Dealing with the leak is easy if you seal it and plan on never taking it off. Finding the short in the wiring is easy if your experienced with soldering wires.

Looks like a 7/10

thx, anyone else have some input? not that you can tell much from pics and words. how much would it cost to fix up a dented bumper?
Easton Morales
I've had this happen, a new kid got on the impact gun for like 10 seconds straight and snapped a stud clean off. thankfully they were partnered with some shop so it didn't cost me a dime, a waste of time though.
Just check for oil burning/leaking along with any other fluids. It depends on the damage and where you get it fixed. You might be able to fix it with boiling hot water.
Jayden Roberts
Lol happened to me too. My friend was tightening the wheel with a torque wrench and he kept on going and it never clicked. When he took it off, the lug nut came with a chunk of the stud inside. My bro replaced it since he's a tech at a ford dealership but he said it was a pain in the ass since he had to disassemble the front hub since it was a 4x4 frontier.

My nitga Thank God we're pretty much done with snow here.
I fuckn love my 2L 3sfe caldina but suspected electrical fault has it no start

Going to go with no. It was a gift and makes for a good (silent) co-driver.
Carter Long
>implying theres something wrong with pokemon
Joseph Torres
If you find the short please tell me where it was because I'm currently searching my whole car to find one doing the same thing and maybe we'll be lucky and it's in the same spot
Kevin Ward
Also what he said, id definitely try and talk them down with all those caveats, maybe 1800 or so. That is unless the thing has less than 100k miles
>tfw finger hot spanish girl in my passenger seat >she gets super wet >leaves visible wet spot on the seat >its damp after she leaves >smells amazing >car smells like pussy now
i won't, but why would someone sell it for that low
Sebastian Lewis
Nah price is right for a hg blowing pos

GOD FUCKING DAMN IT WHY DIDN'T I BUY A CHASER I FINALLY GET TO TIP MY TOES INTO A MODERATELY FAST CAR AND NOW I KNOW I WONT EVER BE ABLE TO AFFORD ONE FUCKING END MY SUFFERING WHY DID I PICK AN EXTREMELY RELIABLE CAR OVER SOMETHING THAT'S FUN FUCK
I was thinking of getting a new, unpainted bumper, but they dont seem to sell the exact color code spraycan that my car was painted Is there any Duplicolor or similar brands that currently sell silver paint similar to Liquid silver metallic (1D0)?
If you get that exact colour it likely won't match your car. The paint on your car has been damaged by the sun and changed colour a little. Most towns have a place that mixes paint on the spot. Take your car there.
If they're any good they'll ask you what you're spraying it on (dark or light/sanded and primered), check your car with swatches, and recommend you a clear coat.
Idk about prining in the rest of the world but here in the Netherlands I'd expect to pay about €50,- for one can of colour, one can of clear and their time. (VAT included)
Zachary Anderson
I just want to paint the front bumper myself. Every other part is fine paint wise It doesn't have to be an exact match and I dont want to take it to a shop for such a simple job, I just want the paint to look close enough
I was looking at paint colors 1E7 because I can get those spraycans easily I cannot find any spraycans of 1D0 for a reasonable price Will 1E7 be close enough to 1D0? Both colors are variations of silver and were used on Celicas of that generation
Liam Green
Checked Be happy with your logical choice, don't be an emotional lesbian
If I'm not mistaken one of those (I think 1D0) is a deeper, darker gray. When clear coated properly it should be shinier.I think the difference would be quite noticeable.
I am just an hobbyist so I might be wrong. Some bloke on a Celica or MR2 forum would probably know for sure. (the ZZW30 was also offered in 1D0 and 1E7)
Jose Turner
That is a nice fucking Celica
Dylan Hill
This is my new (to me) 1983 Corona. Zero rust, 148xxx kms, 4 speed manual. It was built in Australia and shares the same platform as the Celica and Carina of the same generation (xA6x). I've been thinking about a BEAMS swap since it's virtually a bolt-in job, but a 1UZ doesn't seem to be much harder to fit. Any suggestions? So far this is the list:
3SGE BEAMS or 1UZ LSD (Celica rear end) Rear discs (Celica rear end) Tachometer dash Quad headlights (need to fab) Duck tail or Hakosuka style spoiler Chin spoiler Oil cooler (to fit behind grille) Oil pressure/temp gauge Air/fuel ratio gauge Wooden steering wheel (Nardi?) Steering hub kit (MX83, KE70) Fender mirrors Staggered Longchamps (F14x7.5 -5, R14x7.5 -7) Muffler delete (either shotgun or very small boso pipes) Universal upside-down diffuser Front end coilovers (MX73)
/blog Hopefully I'll be updating you guys very soon :)
Never had to do that yet so I am curious as well. My 05 was mostly problem free while I owned it. Might find better info on that on priuschat, not too many of us folks here in Veeky Forums.
I need a reliable DD by August. looking at cars from 95-05. Currently in the Chicago area, commuting to school and work. Any suggestions? budget is 2-3k
I've come across a 1998 SC 400. it's the 1UZ, automatic transmission, and is at 220k miles. It seems to follow regularly scheduled maintenance but nothing more. My question is:
why is every goddamned IS300 and SC300/400 I come across a fucking A/T
Luis Sullivan
I have a 2016 yaris hybrid of course I'm emberassed! I mean I can share pics but I don't feel like it's montage worthy
Isaac Gutierrez
might be getting my grandma a yaris soon if i do i'll post it
Bentley Roberts
I mean if I can take pride in a Prius C... You're not that bad senpai. We all have to take some pride in our ecoboxes, it's just a different kind of fun.
Seems fishy. What the fuck is the nigga talking about rack and pinion in the rear? Is it 4WS?
Juan Johnson
Scion TC is pretty reliable. I recommend the 2nd gen over the 1st gen because of looks, but the 1st gen isnt bad looking either and they are cheaper They are essentially camrys but with 2 doors and a rear hatch. They actually have decent rear legroom despite being 2 doors so it's pretty practical for hauling 4 people if you overlook the 2 door part. Taper your expectations, dont expect them to be that fast
They are upmarketed as luxury sedan/coupe and in general, they are (initially) bought by older people who dont want to bother with manual
Liam Mitchell
>Rack and pinion causing vibration in the rear end >New transmission >$5k in repairs
Buy it as a beater, don't dump money into it. Chances are it's been pretty heavily abused. The seller is a fucking moron.
Vibration in the rear could be worn shocks, a tire balancing issue, or old diff fluid.
Check it out, make sure the belts are in okay shape and no serious leaks, and make sure the power steering pump isn't pissing fluid on the alternator and you're good to go.
