Isn't the abrams used in Desert storm are M1A2 models which is the ones had DU plates in the armor. I doubt they will att the Abrams with DU plates since the armor is still classified. You can technically pen Challangers LFP with T-34 85 Leopard is not good as M1A2.

US tanks used in Desert Storm were: M551 - intensively used as diversion, to convince Saddam American armor is already in Saudi Arabia, and in numbers M60A1 - used by USMC. Force using them claimed destruction of over 100 armored vehicles. 1 M60 was lost to Sagger missile M1IP - used by USMC. M1A1 - main hitting force of campaign, some of them underwent hasty armor upgrade already in Saudi Arabia, due to CIA suggesting that Iraqi Army has modern ammunition from Soviet Union. M1A1HA - first variant with DU armor, around 500 were deployed M1A1HC - 2 platoons were equipped with them for evaluation. Same DU armor as later used in M1A2.

75 mm had APC and APCBC. APDS was proposed, but French decided to just mount bigger gun. 90 mm and 105 mm for it used HEAT-FS exclusively (270 and 400 mm pen IIRC). AML-90 and ERC-90 scout cars recieved APFSDS for their 90 mm much later on, but I found nothing suggesting AMX-13 ever used this ammo.
