How hard is it switching to Legend from Commander? Commander's difficulty felt fine in the early game but in late-game I'm stomping all over enemies and want a bit more challenge

I think Beta strike improves the game massively. There are some... kinks that need to get worked out, but overall, it's a massive step up.

Best option, everyone should turn it on.

nth for eugenics experiments

>can attack from four sides and their corners
>this is a hexagon

user is a retard

cover based damage reduction achieves the same effect and is a lot softer of a change imo

>download both BF4 and MW armor mods
>looks like shit

atleast the R6 amour pack looks good

>playing with beta cuck uprising on
Hello 25 IQ marshmallow brain

I might not be good at life, but I do alright in videogames. Yay for me.

Houserules: 1 of each faction soldiers, 1 psi, 1 SPARK.

Was fun, but the game falls apart at the end even on Legend. Suggests the lategame is just poorly balanced across the board.

>tfw got an american/russian buddy dynamic going
ayyyys stand no chance

...

The MWR SAS pack is quite good, the MW pack looks like garbage, really bad textures.

Is it only me or every Titanfall helmet is oversized as fuck? Can't use them because of that.

cmon, man some user already did a decent crop of the heads for plug'n'play purposes

JAKE

thank you

>good crop
>hunter is low res and blurry

Nah.

They do look really big

they have to fit an entire human head inside them

more like every other sci-fi helmet is freakishly small

What else does the 3rd Gremlin do for your Specialists aside from the increased hack stat? It says it boosts their abilities but it's pretty vague and I haven't taken it out yet

xth for supply raids are shit. SHIT!

I think it adds second charge to the scanning protocol at least. So perhaps more charges?

The soldier's face is always rendered under helmets, so really all helmets already fit an entire human head inside of them.

More combat protocol damage, more heals, more ability charges

i said decent, not good but either way its better than the ones used on the link

It also buffs your Aid protocol defence bonus by 10 for each tech-up

I thought modders actually made them big to hide clipping or something, but apparently, it's how they are. I retract my bitching about oversized heads. But now I want more female versions.

...

I think it makes combat protocol do more damage.

Very nice. Thank you famalambourghinis

Was that sectoid working a glory hole in the showers or something?

I just proc'd three bonus moves (a sectoid and two Lost behind him) in one go with AoE Rend as Templar.

HOLY SHIT THATS OP

All I need is PSI

I disagree. Beta strike also effectively lessens grenade damage and makes ambushes/alpha striking less of an instant win strategy, which creates more play between player and the NPC units.

I like how Anarchy Children's tier 3 options for Warden armor actually remove shitty gloss. Just one small change makes a world of difference.

>lipless alien blowjob

I'm horrified, yet intrigued.

Look at that movement range! A shame Templar doesn't have many abilities that could be used without ending the turn.

Unless it remakes cover system to actually work and employ the proper fire & movement tactics with suppression and flanking, I dont see the point of that advanced option.

>tfw the aliens continue to make progress on the avatar project

>tfw the reapers keep cucking them out of 2 points every month

I don't have the expack yet but I got a couple questions.

What does bonding do?
Can you only run one covert ops mission at a time?

All he needs is a hobo hat

>Templar ghost can use Reaper
I AM CUM

Feed action points from one soldier to another plus some other buffs that don't matter.
Yes, 1 at a time, but stage 2 bondmates can finish them 1 day faster. Feel free to stack the bonuses like

Thats Wraith, cause I wanted a reason to use it.

tfw no Archangel

Adds OP abilities. Basically allows you to pass actions to the bondmate, you get bonuses to ... aim I think and there is an ability to get a free action shot at a target for the bondmate.

But if the bondmate dies, your surviving soldier goes nuts and berserks / panics, which can, because Firaxis dislikes logic, mean attacks on your own people.

No, one at a time. Multiple would be even more OP than it is now.

>inb4 psi amp whining from people who have never played the original

Don't remind me of the psi powers in the old xcom, the only reason I built that thing was beacuse it was broken and my soldiers got 240 ap/turn just by sitting there all day
It is probably one of the few things I think the new xcom has improved

Every rend costs you a focus, so you can use it, but you cant really use it properly.

>B-team specialist gets enemy protocol

>tfw the enemy calls reinforcements
>and your squad already has their landing point surrounded.
I need to get better at these posters.

What's the point of these pipes anyways?

I always thought it was a gutter

>B-team specialist gets all the +hack rewards
>A-team spec cant even find one
pls just end this

>and your squad already has their landing point surrounded.

>purifier gets dropped off

Maybe contains cables of some kind

>surround a drop point with my A-Team Bladestorm ranger and Templar
>there's a Purifier

>tfw muton slaps you for the last time

>Take control of the Andromentoslawhatever Carcass
>go right in front of someone
>HULK SMASH
>right wall destroyed, debris everywhere
>MISSED

completing three "hunt the chosen" missions gets me the mission to infiltrate and assassinate them, right?

Yes, it also raises the influence with the faction you are working with, which means more active orders, more orders and better orders.

good, I need one more mission and the fucking stealth lady is stupid high on knowledge.

Time for Outrider and her Ranger team to murder that shit.

TELL YOUR GODS- I need ammo

Yeah, I know, still works nice.

>tfw I've already Dashed-Reaped twice in one turn and got 2+ moves from that, and now I'm gonna dash for another yellow move striking 3 of them

Holy fuck Templars are OP

...

>mind control andromedon with commandertar in final mission
>it dies after two rooms
>haywire protocol the corpse

EVEN IN DEATH HE STILL SERVED

It does?

>mimic beacon project completion
>fish with tits?

Mind controlling the first andromedon makes the first portion so easy as to be boring. No damage taken thanks to your mobile damage sponge. Bonus points for mind controlling the gatekeeper later for more of the same.

>Very Difficult supply raid
>Can only send two guys in
>Have two Reapers
>It's already called Operation First Stalker
Well that's settled then.

>fish with boobs
TFTD confirmed

So, I know I've posted before, but I still can't figure out the cause. I keep getting game freezes when I try to customize the new unit types. It even does it without any mods, so it's not a conflict that I can figure out.

>This absolute fucking madman actually survived the mission.
Have you ever had a random solider go from a nobody to the hero of XCOM in your eyes?

how?

game feels slow and rushed at the same time.

...

49% chance to hit the Lost behind him with his Sniper. He hits and has a clean route to fulldash to Evac.
EZ.
He'd been on his own for 3 turns. He ended up with as many kills in that mission alone as my highest killing Gatecrasher has after maybe 4/5 missions.

>perfect first retaliation mission
>faceless activate right next to me
>entire squad proceeds to miss several 85+% shots over the course of several rounds
>two dead soldiers, one bleeding out, and one 1HP soldier later, I finally manage to kill them

That's XCOM, baby...

For the clone it does. And the clone also cant gain focus.

Do any of you equip skulljacks on your specialists to get some hack rewards? Is it worth the risk?

I equip them for the hack bonus but rarely actually use the skulljack after the story stuff is done

It gives a nice hack boost so yeah I do. Yeah I mean you can usually hack every MEC 90% of the time with a tier 3 grem.

The skulljack passively gives +hack if you do the proving grounds project Skullmining, like +45. There's not much risk involved since it guarantees a 1 shot if it hits but if you miss you should always have a back up plan anyway.

Good meme.

Meh, hacking is so shit in this game.... if you have 90% chance to hack it (and gremlin 3), you might as well IK it with your grenadier with bluescreen rounds.

The fail results should be something else than calling another pod on you or overdriving the hacked unit.... why risk it?

I don't know user, hacking MECS/Andromedons/Secotpods/Lamposts have saved my ass a bunch of times. Like one Lampost hack is giving your squad their whole AP back, for sure it's situational but when the odds are stacked against you, you gotta consider hacking.

Updated the Skirmisher Helmet mod with a "rogue purifier" looking thingamajig, i might have gone a bit too far away from the original look of the skirmisher helmets but eh whatever.

I also added modified versions of the vanilla skirmisher helmets that come with neck covers and the ability to change lower face props when using them, however this introduced a bit of an annoying bug or glitch or whatever, basically, Firaxis made some change with the way packages are loaded(not quite sure what, how or why) but basically it makes it a pain to reuse existing materials and textures from the vanilla game, in this particular case what it means is that sometimes one of the modified vanilla helmets(maybe more than one although i only ever saw one at a time) will show with a checkered texture(meaning missing material/texture), but there is no missing material or texture, its just the game throwing a tantrum and it will fix itself once the character goes through a loading screen(at least in my experience).

tl;dr: If you use one of the modified vanilla helmets on a skirmisher and it has a checkered texture it will fix itself once it goes through a loading screen, you can even save the game after equipping it and it will be fixed if you load the save.

is there a mod that guarantees chosen spawns yet? Pretty disappointed the expac is based around them but I never get them

>3 warlock fights, including avenger defense
>2 hunter
>3 assassin

It's like month 7, I've had wild hunt active since the first month, and I still never see them. It's really disappointing

But the problem is that you play russian roulette at that point. Sure, if you succeed and get your AP back, its awesome. But if you fail, you turned a bad situation into a likely massacre.

I consider hacking only when I am about to get wiped off the map, which is a shame.

Stolen

Eh like most things in Xcom, everything is up to RNG. Would you take that 80% shot? or just hack the MEC with a 64%. It depends on playstyle I guess, I usually go for Hack since enemies usually Agrro the hacked MEC and pin missiles are really strong.

I stopped hacking precisely because the first time I played Xcom 2, 64% hack was like a guaranteed failure in that gameplay. I guess it scarred me for life.

>Flawless because there were Andromedons to pop and they sprayed acid all over their own guys
Incidentally, you guys ever not write anything on your posters?
I wasn't sure of what to say with this, if anything.

You just gotta grow some balls. This is not even t3 gremlin.

Covert ops spamming for hack increase?

But its cov ops boosted hacking score. I dont have time for that on legend.

Just once. +20 hack from gremlin, +25 from skulljack.

Demo rounds or suppression?

Covering fire or Tactical assessment?

You should have added a bit of carving at the top to offset the black, mate. But good job.

>rounds
Demolition is an active ability. Last time I checked, it didn't do anything at all.

Covering Fire if you like to use Aid Protocol defensively.

Suppression and Tac assessment. If you've got a stupidly high aim, then maybe Covering Fire instead if you want to shit out Aid Protocols more often.

Damn, I thought that would be how you extend the ghost
