>best mercedes for the track
Probably their latest F1 chassis
>under $7k
Oh...find a different manufacturer.

literally none. they're all soft, overweight autotragics.

W202 230k with a few simple mods

w201 with a few simple mods
you better be prepared to do most (if not all) the work yourself

>under $7k
>track and daily driving
lol. stick to Honda Civic. Not joking. They are fun, cheap, reliable cars.

>t. has never been to a track or worked on a w201

also
>muh few simple mods

kill yourself shit stain.

Dacia Duster

W123 diesel; you'll attract everyone's attention on the track.
>as they pass you

I've always loved the few simple mods thing, like that turns your average overweight barge into a something that's not going to die young on the track.

based duster poster

this is by far the shittiest meme this board has seen

>Merc
>for going to the track
>daily driving
>under 7k

Literally nothing.

former 190e manual owner here

i would say this is kind of a choose any two thing

you can get a fun to track merc for under 7k, you can get a good daily merc for under 7k

if you expect the daily merc to survive tracking than you're pretty much out of luck. an older mercedes being used for high intensity tracking is going to inevitably break, and trying to balance the two is going to be tough. not impossible, but if you're tracking the car stuff is going to go wrong and that's going to affect your trust of it as a daily. your best bet will still probably be w201 or w124, ideally 190e 2.3-16.

if you want a car that you can actually beat on every day and track and it will take it, then i'd actually suggest .

i still very much think that older mercedes are really fun cars and would love to have another one in the future... but if you actually need it to be your daily, especially your only daily, don't expect to actually get away with tracking it

Does anyone actually ever want to buy a Civic? Like my first car was an EM2, and I only bought it cause of Honda's reliability, and plenty of manual examples available.

But like I just bought a Miata cause I always wanted one. But I never "wanted" a civic.

yes

and the si models are genuinely fun even stock

i'd choose a civic over a miata personally

I can't believe you actually typed that out.

go for w202
they are crappy unloved cars, but they are cheap and relativly fast, since they are light.

you should get one of the older ones, they still have to good m104 inline6 engine.

This is like the Idris Elba meme on /tv/

And fit rims pic related - they are lightweight FORGED Toliman wheels- great for track

Get a manual diesel one and stick a large(r) turbo on it for maximum chooch

You can always straight pipe it and roll coal with it which is amusing

It´s a good thing that you didn´t post currency or/and country.

A track car may be a toy but it isn't nearly as gay of a toy as a Nintendo Switch.

Cl600

YOU CAN MAKE A TRACKABLE DAYLIABLE MERC. YOU BENCHRACER FAGS FORGET THAT TRACKING DOESNT MEAN YOU ARE TAKING PART IN FUCKING BRATHURST OR LE MANS
ITS A THING YOU TAKE TO TRACK COMPETE WITH OTHERS AND ENRICH YOURSELF THROUGH COMPETING WITH OTHERS, WINNING IS NICE BUT NOT THE POINT.

GET A OLD MERC, STRIP IT COMPLETELY, NOTHING BEATS LIGHTNESS, SLAP A FIA APPROVED SEAT LIKE SPARCO SPRINT IN THERE TO KEEPY OU IN PLACE BECAUSE NOTHING IS WORSE THAN A FUCKING PARKBENCH AND GET SOME COILOVERS, WHEELS THAT WEIGH FUCKING NOTHING AND GOOD STICKY TYRES. DONT NEED TO GO SLICK AND THEN GO HIT THE TRACK.
YOULL FIGURE OUT THE REST ,GOOD LUCK. SPEND LESS MONEY ON CAR AND MORE ON GETTING IT RUNNING AND MAKING IT RELIABLE

Flatbed sprinter with miata on it.

ten years ago you could probably get a cosworth 190 for under 7k now your looking at around 15-20k

same with e30 m3

except you won't find an E30 M3 under $20k unless its an absolute PoS. E30 M3's are more valuable then 190e Cossies.

the most expensive 190e’s are more expensive than e30 m3’s
