>trying to find an extremely common truck >its a 2003 - 2006 Silverado 1500 ext. cab with a 5.3 >The truck I need has to have a T or a Z in the vin >every single one is a 4.8 v8 aka a V vin
YOU THINK WITH SUCH A FUCKING COMMON VEHICLE IT WOULD BE PRETTY FUCKING EASY TO FIND ONE WITH THE RIGHT FUCKING ENGINE? REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Any one else having trouble finding the right engine for a car their searching for?
Why the hate on the 4.8? If you're really concerned about power why not find a truck with a 6L?
Jose Morris
The 4.8 really was that bad
Bentley Hall
Care to explain? I've got a 4.8 in my 1/2 ton and it seems to work pretty well for me. I've driven a handful of trucks with the 5.3 and a few with the 6L and my impression is the drive-ability difference between the 4.8 and 5.3 is negligible but the jump to the big motor is pretty substantial.

Im building a prerunner so I want the extra power without spending the cash to go with a bigger motor. Maybe in the future but for now i'm just a beginning my build.
Pretty much yeah. Just need a 2wd truck with the 5.3 and an ext cab. I’m only having luck finding ones in 4x4s. Found a couple of them but they cost a little more than white I want to spend on the truck itself
Jacob Howard
>I’m only having luck finding ones in 4x4s
Because most were ordered with 4x4 and why not? Its a waste of a truck to not have 4x4. You severely fuck your resell value right there.
Even most fleet trucks were/are 4x4.
No one wants the little cuck 4.8 because its america and your a pleb if you run that engine.

>I live in the most cucked state in the country It’s pretty hard to find a decently priced 5.3 Silverado 2wd. Found one for 5.7k at a dealership. May have to check it out later today.
>4x4 >prerunner It limits front end travel which is why I’m not keen on getting one. I already have a 4wd too :^)
Cameron Torres
I imagine some boomers have some RWD 5.3's theyll be clean but theyll also ask astronomical amounts.
Carter Perry
Wtf is a prerunner?
Some lifted truck abomination?
Matthew Sullivan
Not really a lift. Just completely redone suspension geometrey to maximize travel.
Mostly Mexicans own these. I only see boomers having high mileage 4wd trucks with a 15k no low baller I know what I got price
Alexander Perry
Don't get a 5.3 or any truck LS for that matter, the market has driven them through the roof in price. Everyone wants one, buys them, and upsells them or pulls the $350 engine and sells it for $1500 just cause they have a wiring harness. Face it, the LS bubble is popping and it's time to get a hemi.
