absolutely not
I would not
Maybe if I had a 100 mile highway commute with lots of traffic
No. Touchscreens have no place in cars. They are utterly pointless and more distracting than mobile phones.
>Everything requires you to look away from the road to change the smallest of settings
>They get praised for integrating a tablet when we're trying to ban usage of electronics while driving
>Table looks out of place
Not sure why people like the interior, I'm all for minimalist but that table makes it look like shit.
When will Tesla add a 6spd transmission, Veeky Forums?
I'm not gay.
I'm not a soyboy.
No
Not those seats, but I'd consider one for a DD if I didn't expect a new order to be delivered in the fucking 2020's
No.
Touchscreen bullshit aside, the interior doesn't feel right. It's almost as if you're not supposed to like being in that car.
needs a HUD, physical light, wiper, and HVAC controls.
I would rather walk
maybe if it were free and I had no other options
>of course, I am part of the FUTURE
>isn't SCIENCE amazing???
feels very sterile and unwelcoming
no
>direct power
>needing a transmission
is this guy being a soyboy on purpose
or is this just edited
Fuck no.
Far too bland of an automobile.
There are lots of quality issues with Tesla's too.
Ask me when they can reliably build a car and make it look nice.
No because it's like the iphone of cars, meant for women and soy drinking fags neither of which know anything about vehicules...
Steal the motor?
Sure.
If it was gifted to me, I would. Otherwise? Nah senpai
Jesus it's hideous
top kek someone have original? it was even more annyoning
Would I what?
>would you buy one?
Never, I despise the interior. I dislike iPad/touchsreen dashes, and this one is so obnoxiously large and out of place it ruins the rest of the car. The exterior design is worse than soulless and doesn't speak to me at all. While my current Fabia Kombi isn't exactly a beautiful or stylish car, the Tesla styling is something I actively dislike - especially the snooty, sneering mouth that seems to mimic its intended soy-consuming customer base.
I drive long distances too often to bother with the poor 200-300 mile range of all-electric cars, along with long charge times. The lower cost of running makes no sense to me if the car is insanely expensive too. I get around 50 MPG on most highway drives, my current insurance group is low, and maintenance and tires are cheap. Charging the Tesla would be a bitch too, as I often have to park far away from any charging points or electric sockets.
I also do not wish to give any money to a company advocating the war on normal, gasoline powered, human-driven cars.
>would you own one if given to you for free?
Obviously I'd say yes to being given one, to then sell it and have a nice chunk of extra cash.
If I was being given one on a "free lease" type agreement, where I could use the car for 3 years with no payments other than insurance and charging, I would consider it. The acceleration would be fun, and the car is larger and more practical than my current vehicle in terms of interior space and seating. On the flip-side, I'd have to worry about my range, charging issues, and I'd have to deal with being seen as a soy-boy by the general public.
If I did end up with one long-term, I'd likely attempt to remove the touch-screen and retro-fit switches and buttons to the vehicle. I'd also install a small generator in the rear of the vehicle for emergency charging, but that wouldn't be cheap if I wanted it to also be safe/not nigger-rigged.
It's not the same unless you are harnessing the power of dinosaurs by exploding them in a hunk of metal.
If I was a cop I'd pull over every Tesla I saw and ticket the driver for fucking around with a mobile device (phone, tablet, etc) while driving. I don't care if it sticks, I'd just want to establish the threat so it factors into purchase decisions.
>world's first tesla tuner
The real question is: how could you not?
Here's the genius plan:
Rich cunt buys one
gets into an accident while fucking around on the tablet
car gets totaled because insurance companies have no clue
gets put up for auction on copart
you buy it for like $2k or $3k
yank drivetrain and batteries out
put them into a normal car
fucking laff.
>When will Tesla add a 6spd transmission, Veeky Forums?
Whenever you understand what youre talking about
So never
>2 or 3k y-yea g-good luck with that
you can change everything with the buttons on the steering wheel..
the most recent wrecked model 3 went for $31,500
3s on IAAI and Copart have been going for nearly $40k. This is the only active one right now
iaai.com
You aren't going to get one for cheap for at least a decade
Would you?
You would cosplay as the delta flyer
>tesla tuning
cheat codes? patches?
no, would never.
Tesla has boosted 0-60 times with OTA updates already, so actually yes. The power to the motors is regulated like crazy by the car software
I'm starting to not see a point in autonomous vehicles
either I'm
>shopping
in which case, I may as well just get delivery, since I'm not needed for transport anyway
or
>going out
in which case it makes more sense for an Uber
It's more so for commercial applications like public transport or trucking, self-driving cars really don't make as much sense on a consumer level
yeah you can install custom software for the inverter and drivetrain. The problem is maximizing performance without overheating the batteries and motor. I think we could start to see the interiors gutted out and some kind of cooling solution installed in the rear.
Having something like a giant PC water cooling loop on the battery pack would be fucking insane
like pic related
No. I have to street park and have nowhere to charge it. Plus I like to actually hear my motor.
This is the real reason autonomous cars won't catch on. Having a car is all about ownership and control. Freedom of movement. Going where you want when you want. Anyone cucked enough to not care about their freedom of movement and let the car move for them, will just use public transit or a taxi instead, and probably already do. There is a slight chance of autonomous cars catching on in America, but ONLY because
1. our public transit is fucked sideways compared to other countries
2. we have exceptionally stupid people for a first world country, who might be convinced by marketing that the self-driving car still belongs to them, and not some CEO a thousand miles away.
> Having a car is all about ownership and control. Freedom of movement. Going where you want when you want.
Nobody cares about this. People want something that will get them from point A to point B safely and cheaply, that's it. People who actually care about driving make up a very very small minority of car owners. If you had the option to be able to let the car drive itself for a monotonous drive why wouldn't you do it? Who wants to drive on the highway for two hours? It's boring, nobody wants that. You could use that time to nap or read or watch a movie
And no, getting a taxi isn't the same. You can't take your family on a road trip in a fucking taxi. You're retarded if you think autonomous driving isn't something everyone will want, once it's shown to be safe (which it already has been shown it's safer than human drivers)
If people wanted control then why does automatic transmission exist? Why does cruise control exist? You're delusional to think everyone is a driving enthusiast.
would I want to drive a waiting room?
nah
This. You have to look away from the road just to check your speed. Who the fuck thought that's a good idea?
Why does it feel like the car was shopped in?
poltards really do love black dick don't they
Yes. At $0.12/kWh in my province it's very cheap to wake up with a fully charged battery. Instant torque is impressive on a graph and behind the wheel. AWD is amazing because if one motor fails the car still keeps going. Regenerative braking saves your brake pads and restores energy on hills. Cheap instant torque > vroom vroom
Wot nigga?
The funniest part here is the otists thinking electric cars can't have gears.
Current electric engines for cars are somewhat simple, but as they advance we will be seeing all kinds of crazy stuff for them.
not even for free
>t. knows absolutely nothing about this topic but likes Elon Musk
I swear, the next marketing meme will be simple buttons and switches and cars will have 50 buttons and switches
Sure why the hell not if it’s free. My commute can be done like 4 times on a single charge so it would be really cheap for me to drive
Stop being rational. We are on a board that believes everyone needs rwd and a V8 for their daily
I have operated electric vehicles with 6 gears and it was nice
No, because It has none of the aspects of cars that I like
>no engine
>no gears
>no noise
>doesn’t look cool
>doesn’t smell like burning gas/oil
>lame interior
>no character
It just reminds me of those servant androids they have in science fiction movies, it’s boring and only does what it’s supposed to do
>but user it’s as fast as a demon
The thrill of that will wear off and you’ll realize that it’s just an iPhone that goes fast in a straight line
Hopefully
>Not sure why people like the interior
I've never seen anyone say they like the interior, it's possibly the most common criticism.
That isn't fucking cheap electric at all. That's a high rate
>i-it's not me, it's poltards!!
lmao kys libcuck nigger.
not a 'libtard' lel, and not a non-white
I'm not the one who keeps bringing up cucking and black dicks in conversations unrelated to it, and I don't have blacked porn saved on my drive.
I'd bet money there's a thread right now on /pol/ related to race mixing.
here's another one of you idiots. Just get out of the cuck closet my man
Yeah i probably would.
Theyre getting surprisingly close to autonomous self driving.
Even if Elon doesnt magic it up in 2 years, GM says 5 and thinks they need to play catchup.
And my graduate degree in computer vision and machine learning bullshit thinks thats optimistic but not implausible.
I want to get in and take a nap while it drives me to work or watch a movie with kids on the roadtrip home for the holidays etc.
Fuck Waymo though or anything that wont have a steering wheel.
