My biggest issue is being fully reclined. I propped my tool box up between the back of the seat and the rear seats to give me more of an upright position

It's possible your mounts are borked. Common problem, look up "gansta lean foxbody". You should notice your passenger seat sits more upright by default.

Oh yeah, and try folding your back seats to brace the driver's seat when not carrying passengers. It helps mine.

I plan on changing them since I mostly drive alone and therefore wear out only the drivers seat.
Can you guys recomend me a budget bucket seat that is pretty narrow?
Bonus points if 4- or 5-point harness with rotary lock like in airplanes.
