What made Kazumi become S tier? Last I checked she was consistently being placed in A/B.

Also does anyone ever make tournament lists? Everything I've come across is for death matches.

Is Kazuya not tournament viable? He is always high on the deathmatch tierlists and you see Koreans in the arcades use him a good amount but in tourney literally NO ONE but Knee or Kodee use him and even then rarely.

Why is that the case? You'd think at the level the execution wouldn't be a huge issue. Punishing -14/-13 with EWGF is pretty difficult in real matches though.

i think she lacks the explosiveness which makes other characters (like Lili) so dangerous in a short set

just look at choksae. he will block punish -14 and even -13 stuff pretty regularly in arcade matches. he switched to devil jin recently, went to tournaments, and dropped literally everything you would expect him to hit; things that he can do on kazuya and you know he can do on dvj.

things like ewgf, ewgf or ewgf, ewgf, ff+4 and you know he has those hellsweep into ewgf pickups, but he dropped those every time. he missed almost every ewgf block punish that wasn't super easy like -17 or more. playing in tournament is a very different environment.

He is extremely execution heavy, has a defensive playstyle with little in the way of poking tools, and his kids that would be a go-to equivalent on other characters are generally a bit slower.

Basically Kazuya has all the same downsides as other Mishimas, with the added challenge that you need to have borderline esp-tier knowledge of your opponent to get the most out of him
