Are cars supposed to only get better with each generation like smartphones do?

planned obsolescence says not really
>smartphones
>getting better
yea about that...
Alfa Romeos don't need planned obsolescence; they already have unplanned obsolescence as a side effect of the badge.
Uhm, try again sweety...
>VW makes unreliable piece of shit cars
Color me surprised
VW cares are bulletproof..For the length of the warranty. German engineering everyone, takes skill to make a car shit the bed exactly on its third birthday
Meanwhile, in a brand new 3 Series...
I am serious when I say, my 2013 Hyundai accent feels a lot more solid than this. Shills are gonna claim all cars do this, or that it's for safety reasons to make the dash fall apart during a crash or whatever...But it's bullshit. Germans are the kings of corner cutting, and making a car pass first appearance, then falling apart after 30k miles
If by better you mean bigger and heavier then yes
They were until 2010s
>mk7 golf loses IRS in base models
>engines downsized everywhere
>mk2 twingo, mk3 yaris loses sliding rear seat
>feature full cars like modus are replaced by fratureless cars like captur.
Because safety and emissions and fuel economy are expensive. We can have more durable materials and nicer styling if the car makers dodnt have to stuff so much fucking safety, driving aids, and make it sip as little fuel and emit less
Theyre all getting worse
Not according to the Subaru Forester XT
Most cars peak with 3rd gen and die a very quick death after that.
It’s literally like a 1990’s-2000’s GM
Yeah, same with most Acura products.
1st gen TSX > 2nd
3rd gen TL > 4th and TLX
2nd gen RL >RLX
Legend > First gen RL
Integra > RSX
*Another shitty creaky dash video* boooooooooooriiiiing
Lmao, the government gives them green credits for hoping on the safety and emissions train

There's no rule that says cars have to improve every refresh/model change.
Many get worse.
