What's the difference between Alchemy viewer, black dragon viewer, and firestorm viewer? I use firestorm, but haven't heard of the other two.

Black Dragon is good for taking screenshots because of it's enhanced graphical settings, it's bad for everything else because it's creator is a furry or something and gets angry when asked for said features a lot because they're features everyone expects, such as hiding your camera beacon among other things.

Alchemy is what people use when they don't want to use firestorm I guess.

It's official and it gives you links to the viewer home sites. Maybe try not to get triggered so easily and actually look at it.

Well some people are going to have snazzy stuff like custom rigged avatars they made themselves, but I can't imagine what sort of commonly worn avatar, or even uncommon avatar, couldn't be made using existing mesh and sculpted parts on the marketplace. As for getting lindens, just buy some with real world money if it's that big a deal.

It's really just the "I don't have an idea or skills" part.

If I had a good idea and then thought i'd be able to do the idea i'd get L$ one way or another.

To be honest it sounds like you're more picky than anything, when people buy avatars and accessories from the marketplace, they're paying to use other people's work, other people came up with and meshed and textured everything on their avatar unless they themselves were the ones who uploaded and finished it. Creativity and imagination are hardly a factor, personal preference is, and they just decided that they wanted those things and paid for them, so I don't see why you can't just make an avatar that you like the look of using modern stuff and join all the people you're so crushingly envious of.

Buy mesh body
Buy fashionable clothes from stores that are at events like kustom9, uber, tmd, etc.
put mesh head of your choice on it (doesn't matter if human, furry or object head)
add some small things, jewelry, accessories, don't overdo it
