Old Harleys are a great time, take an old springer or rigid for a rip some day and you'll probably get it. It's not about being the fastest or carving corners or having the highest reliability score on Consumer Reports, it's about the insane rush of fear and adrenaline when you open the throttle at 100 mph, your entire skeleton rattles, your ears ring from the gutteral scream of a drag piped V-twin, and the bike feels like it's going to disintegrate into a hundred pieces. It's terrifying, euphoric, and very addicting.
So the major difference between all of them is mostly the engine layout. The FZ07 would make a great beginner bike considering twins typically have smoother linear powerbands. Triple and i4 engines can catch you off guard with the spike of power as the rpm climbs

I don't really see people talking about these bikes too much compared to the wr meme bike, any opinions on this?
Because they're nothing alike I find them more fun due to the lower cog, but there's no denying they're much less capable overall They're nice on sand tho

When will you learn to ignore discordfags brandwhoring?
Never rode a KX500. I’ve rode a YZ490 and that thing is 4 gears of fear. Just rode a CR500 in a 250 frame which was pretty bad ass too. BRING BACK BIG TWO SMOKERS DAMMIT
Getting this thing back tomorrow. Fucking finally. Mechanic ghosted a few months ago and suddenly came back and fixed the bike (all it needed was brake switches, a tail light, and a lock cylinder). Left it at the shop next to him to charge the battery.
I traded a Suzuki RMZ 450 for this '96 Monster 900. Literal pages of mods the previous owner did including a complete engine rebuild, .40 overbore, 11.5:1 compression, and FCR 41 carbs. Bike didn't run when I got it but it ended up being that one of the carbs was dumping fuel and it just needed a tune to get it running right. The thing is still a work in progress (obviously) but it's fast and an absolute joy to ride.
My question is: what do you guys recommend for an exhaust? The bike doesn't have mufflers and I don't think the stock pipes flow enough to match the upgraded engine anyway. Should I just stick with what I have and throw a pair of mufflers on it or should I get a complete new exhaust kit?
FZ9/10 are great, FZ07 is ptwin trash with the rest of the budget ptwin 650s in its class.

>it's about the insane rush of fear and adrenaline when you open the throttle at 100 mph >and slowly accelerate to 104 mph over the next 30 seconds as you're already well into the deep end of the bike's powerband and there's nothing left to give

OK so I've been practicing a lot driving many bikes at work and finally decided to get my first one. Currently I'm torn between the following Honda Invicta 150 Honda CB190r Yamaha FZ 16 Suzuki Gixxer As prices are kinda weird here, consider that the suzuki is the most expensive of them, and also my top budget. I'm most comfortable with honda to be honest but I want to get your advice on how can I kill myself faster.
You will have to try very hard to do anything other than embarrass yourself on any one of those options, if your objective is just to kill yourself just go get a cheap 600 zook or hurricane and open up the throttle in a turn

I only need one for commuting to and from work around a crowded city. So looks and cc don't really matter.
Connor Myers
Wtf even are these bikes? They sound like poo in loo scooters
Oliver Williams
Yes they are.

Fz07 owner here (not the fag with the red one) Its a good bike. The only people who say its trash are the people who expect a $20,000 sport bike and then get disappointed when its a $7000 commuter bike. Ive ridden for many years from a pw50 to R1s. I settled on the FZ07 because its a good all around bike. FZs in general always have been.
Wouldn't it make more sense to ask in the scooter general then?
Cooper Martin
Yes. An XR100 is more fun tho
Jose Powell
He's clearly not American
If you're just gonna be commuting my vote is for the 190r. Thing gets over 40km/l
Austin Allen
SV650, FZ6, Hornet 600, etc. Enough power to do anything but not enough to highside you with a big twist.

Is the grom a practical bike? Or is it mainly a fun thing to ride? Can it be used for commuting?
Christopher Roberts
If you live in the city maybe, 125cc and a 4 speed gear box will struggle to pass 50mph but light bikes like it sip fuel and can still out accelerate most cars from a standstill If you live in most of 'murica you'll be badly lacking for horsepower
t.ride a ybr125 everyday
Joshua Russell
I rode one for the first time today, its the only bike I've ever ridden so I can't tell you if its good or not lol. Did you do the MSF today too?
Jordan Sullivan
all I can say is it hurt my ass and balls actually
Anything past 90 is where it starts to struggle, you won't break 100 unless you're going down a hill with a tailwind.
Engine's sitting at high rpm but it's fine, it's just a little vibey.

Drove past a perhaps fatal accident today shortly after it happened. Looks like a cruiser bro got rear ended by an Asian woman in a geo metro at a stop light. Paramedics were loading him onto a stretcher when I drove by and there was a pool of blood under him. Shoes and fragments from the car were still in the road, feels bad.
Hunter Price
This is why I prefer to split lanes at a stop, if not I'm eyeing the fuck out of my mirrors.

That's sad tbqh. Hope he lived it.
Hudson White
>Asian woman Fuck.
Having been rear ended, shit like this scares me. The other day an RV with a non-english speaking mexican driver changed lanes and nearly ran me into a medium.
Carter Hill
I’ll agree that old Harley Davidsons are cool, only if you concede that modern Harley is subpar.
Xavier James
Sunday I come around a corner on a mountainous road and there's an asian woman in the wrong lane pulling out of a turnout in the most retarded manner. I was going slow though because I knew it was a popular turnout near a trailhead.
Jace Howard
Great bike. My first was a 92 VS800, little fucker was quick when it ran. For a cruiser, anyway.
I haven't heard of icon helmets until recently, I can't even find crash ratings on them yet. Isn't ICON a budget brand? I use their gloves and jacket but for a helmet I think you should go all out.
Yes, my gf is Sudan and a terrible driver. I don't let her drive my car anymore. They're often too cautious, going way under the speed limit, stopping when they get confused, not merging properly, etc. At least this girl didn't drive away afterwards.
OP here, I'll maintain what I said up there. My fellow countrymen buy Harleys by the thousands and they are a common sight, so much so that you can't spend a day without seeing (or hearing, kek) at least one.
I'd probably enjoy owning one tbqh. They look like they are fun bikes even when you consider their shortcomings but I cannot ignore the absolutely horrendous try hard faggots who the brand attracts.
I guess the brand itself should be blamed for that too. HD-themed ceiling fans didn't come out of the blue, surely.
