use terrain for cover. the greatest thing about the lightning is it's very short to the ground making it easy to shoot for over a hill and quickly duck back to avoid return fire.
also aim better !

Spent an hour doing research while the game was downloading joined as NC, proceeded to get farmed by players with high directive points on the starting planet. Played spawn camping simulator for a while then uninstalled out of frustration, maybe I'll pick the game back up soon but just a heads up that your new player experience is not very good.
