Chain range is a bit oppressive. Glacial Spike available as early as 7 seems like a bit much, too. They'll probably swap it up to 13-16 and/or nerf the Fissure ult.

My biggest issue with him is his combos are much more impactful when done than comparable mages.

Kel'Thuzad vs Kael'Thas -> Big whoop, Kael gets to stun 1 person very briefly IF you hit your tornado that can be body blocked by a creep. Meanwhile, Kel Thuzad's chains can only hit heroes so his combo enabler has a high success rate.

Kael's damage revolves entirely around Flamestrike. Tornado deals shit damage, and living bomb needs a big group to spread to so it can deal good damage. If you can land a chain (spoiler alert its easy), you can guarantee a W and Q follow up for big damage. All of Kel's abilities deal good damage and they enable each other with CC. Kael's deal pitiful damage, Tornado only enables Flame Strike, and Living Bomb gains nothing from either spell.

Kel'Thuzad vs Jaina -> Jaina's abilities combo better than Kel's, but her downside is she does not have a stun or root in her base abilities and her ult's root is awkward and cumbersome. Jaina's damage is at least comparable to Kel's outside of his maxed quest (she deals more pre-completion and the same past level 21 or so), and her defense overall is greater than Kel's because of Ice Block being innate and Kel's Phylactery needing to be recharged after every use.

TL;DR Kel and Jaina are comparable but they both take a big hefty shit on Kael'thas who is literally worse version of both.

W build still sucks balls because it's on a 12s CD
Q build 'sucks' because it's been nerfed to death, though it still packs a punch if it's allowed to get enough procs against multiple melee
E build with lava wave is the new hotness for a supportey damagey survivey Rag, simply because Lava Wave will give you 4-6 Focused Attack procs by itself even if thrown into a lane you aren't fighting in, makes him fairly nasty if he commits.

You just need a hard kill enabler like Garrosh. A friend and I duo this combo all the time, and early game skirmishes in mid usually result in many kills because of Toss -> Butcher.
