What guns from other games do you think would fit well into Fallout?
I think a modular version of the pistol from Halo: Reach would fit decently well into the game.
Anthony Sullivan
Anyone running Horizon? What does your load order look like? Haven't played since 0.9 and I'm doing a clean install for the first time in months.
Parker Ross
Here's my load order. I have no idea what I'm doing besides following the instructions to put Horizon last.
Liam Lee
Post your Fo3/NV screenshots.
Noah Long
How well does Realistic Guns and Bullets Overhaul play with weapons from that fellow who made M1, Crude Blowback, etc? I mean, will his weapons break the difficulty or not?
Also, which is current best Survival difficulty options mod? I want the ammo weight, but I also want to be able to save whenever I damn well please.
Mason Nelson

Hunter Parker
There's a gang of Raiders coming for this thread. Mine. But if you post your Overboss right now, I promise you, we won't have any problems.
Grayson Cruz
oh. you don't have that many mods huh. also: there's a compatibility patch for horizon and some assembly required here: nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/24077/?
I'm going straight for 1.2 so I don't think I could use it though.
Gavin Wood
I'll get that installed, but I'll probably just stick with the exoskeletons from CROSS cybernetics because exoskeletons are cool and fit well with my Altyn helmet.
Lucas Myers
R.I.P. Elizabeth
Evan Hernandez
yeah I'm usually not that into PA but I think I'll give it a go this time with the Hellfire one.
Kayden White

Lucas Adams
I realize song suggestions is pretty lame, but I really think the Sinatra song "The World We Knew" would have been much more fitting for Fallout 4 considering the direct connection to the Old World rather than the Ink Spots again for the flanderized fallout iconicness of it.
Jayden Campbell
Good, now R.I.P yourself with a shotgun, thanks.
Gavin Watson
So did anyone ever datamine how much damage do tesla braces deal and how do they compare to a power fist ?
From what I understand hydraulic braces add 15 (30 if you get two( physical damage before skills and tesla braces deal even more damage so I guess they're stronger than the power fist ?
Alexander Turner
>The World We Knew That's like late 60s song.
Blake Hill
and New Vegas had a song from 1998 in it. It's about the tone and how it fits, less about the actual era, more whether it feels like it was.
Isaac Taylor
NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE 50'S REEEEE
Jacob Carter
And that's exactly why New Vegas is shit. Obsidian couldn't even stay consistent to their own fucking design.
Brandon Parker
If you didn't have a voiced/set protagonist and no family, could you still do Vault 111 as a storyline? I feel like one needs the other.
Easton Cook
...
Benjamin Parker
So what, not every song has to be from the 50s and have overt references to nuclear bombs.
John Walker
You want to talk about inconsistency and you jump to fucking Obsidian of all people? Might I remind you of basically all of 4? You could just be a dude in his house when Vault Tech lets you in, sure. But you'd stay in cryosleep until the system failed and the emergency release happened, and everyone else would be alive too.
Isaiah Morales
>Might I remind you of basically all of 4? Might I remind you of basically all of 2 and NV DLCs?
Kayden Evans
Shit dude, what year do you think The Wanderer is from?
Nathan Mitchell
Yes. Just don't kill the inhabitants and make the new plot about rebuilding sanctuary and deciding what faction to side your neighbors with.
Just make the PC someone who served a tour of duty and was the neighborhood watch captain or something like that for Sanctuary.
Ryan Bell
you could just be a private eye looking for a kid think far harbor
Christian Barnes
Eh, I dunno.
A "cold" open where the player wakes up from stasis with no knowledge on their background and just has to escape the Vault, then have to find out about their past in someway or another. Maybe Vault 111 was made in co-operation with MIT and so the player has to seek the Institute to find out any information on themselves. You could have some cool thematic thing or narrative moments with all the Blade Runner synth stuff with the importance of identity or memory or something. Would make the memory den relevant too.
Gavin Bailey
>americans are waking up >suddenly an influx of obsidiots in the thread Hmm...
Carson Fisher
...
David Ortiz
>Americans are waking up >at 11 in the morning
Jace Williams
What happened, hard drive die?
Zachary Roberts
I know it's blasphemy for some people in this general, but I think New Reno did "City of Sin" gig better than New Vegas.
It feels more coherent, more tied together, more believable, and overall better quality experience. It also feels bigger.
Joseph Clark
What a surprise, the eurocunt is a contrarian provocateur
Lucas Hall
New Vegas was more meant to be about Old World glory and glamour than sin anyway. They even say in New Vegas that Reno's basically Vegas but not as sparkly/unique and a lot more dangerous.
Nolan Adams
Does it count If I'm America and woke up at 11?
Alexander James
>2 Is actually very consistent in it's style, storytelling and narrative. Yes, even the goofs are more or less consistent in their quality and quantity in every location.
Jacob Murphy
You aren't wrong, Gomorrah was the only place that seemed seedy at all. Honestly I dunno if New Vegas was supposed to be the "City of Sin" though, House wanted it to be his new capital. >Does it count If I'm America and woke up at 11? With that grasp of English, you are either lying or Southern.
John Ortiz
Would something as vague and open ended as that be a good motivator to players for a main quest though?
Tyler Allen
...
Joseph Nguyen
Probably not, but it'd be an excuse for players to get tied up in local events anyway. Plus, bethesda loves all that "Go anywhere right from the start" bullshit, and this is easily the best way to do it, none of that fake sense of urgency stuff like in Fallout 3, Fallout 4 and Skyrim.
Joseph James
Nah, you wake up in a vault. Everyone else is dead. Is pretty swell story line in itself. It would make F4 a much better story too, since the whole "must find my son" thing doesn't kick in, letting you decide how much or little fucks you give about what happened and those responsible. NV style.
Jayden Lee
Eh, it happens. I touch typ and my keyboard sometimes doesn't pick up a letter but already hit submit when I notice it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hudson Hughes
>then have to find out about their past in someway or another The Memory Den could have played into this.
Instead the Memory Den was entirely pointless beyond Plot Device.
Carter Bell
>The Memory Den could have played into this. It does though. did you never actually use it beyond Nick's quest?
Hudson Edwards
To be fair to him, the Railroad is so shit noone would play enough of their quests to learn this.
Alexander Barnes
You get to see a scene you see right at the start of the game.
Fascinating AND useful. Truly.
Isaac Kelly
Uninstalled New Vegas. Got tired in Honest Hearts, and didn't feel like continuing playing the DLCs. Only had Old World Blues left to play as the "new" one, but afterwards I would have had to endure Lonesome Road too.
Plus before starting the DLCs I attempted the last quest at Hoover Dam and I breezed through it, only Lanius killed me at the end. So it's not like there was much left for me to look forward to.
I've started playing FO2 now. Biggest gripes is that the game is impossible to install properly without issues popping up.
Dominic Anderson
>Fallout 4 intro >Camera pans out of television in classic Fallout style as "The World We Knew" plays >Subversion as it's in a pre-war house, everything is pretty and peaceful >camera continues to pan out >signs of panic outside the window, cars racing away, people running >family inside the house are panicking, packing things, crying >sudden bright flash >blastwave overtakes house as the family embrace >music fades out as whiteness overcomes screen >silence >the decayed house post-war, Fallout 1 style wind howling >Perlman intro >Wake up in Vault 111, alone
sounds like kino tbqh
Oliver Jackson
I'm using the defense gun replacer mod
It wants to overwrite the original mod in NMM, what do I tell it to do?
Michael Perez
Aren't you the same retard that bitched because a week after uninstalling NV you had the urge to reinstall it
you'd think you'd have learned your lesson
Isaac Fisher
I wonder how Obsidian are enjoying their royalties.
Oliver Ortiz
It's like no one remembers Louis Armstrong.
Nathan Howard
Good shit
Xavier Rodriguez
You can only use the memory den loungers if you haven't met nick yet. It's an alternate way to "discover" Diamond City and the quest to find Nick. Like anybody could miss the huge stadium lights.
Nathaniel Sanchez
>Old World glory and glamour than sin anyway Yeah, if viewed from that angle.. maybe. I still feel that Reno's more impressive of the two tho, and that doesn't feel right with the narrative of house preserving piece of the old world. But maybe it's just because I've always felt disappointed by Vegas.
>a lot more dangerous To me Reno certainly feels more dangerous and cutthroat, robots have a lot of power, but their silly chassis make them not at all intimidating, cartoonish even.
>new capital It just isn't impressive to me. The first time I walked up to Vault city, i was stricken by how out of place it was. The first time I walked into reno I was amazed by it's size. But neither NCR nor Vegas gave me the same wibe. And that's before we start talking about San-Francisco.
It's just - I'm replaying FO2 now, and it weirds me out that of all the factions they decided to pick NCR as the top dog, I get why they'd done it, and I honestly don't mind them canonising NCR Victory as it were, but its just so damn unimpressive, but I guess they were the only expansionist faction that would be stable enough to leave the region.
Just that, New Vegas has so much praise for it in game, and the city just doesn't reflect it. Seems kind of sad that centrepiece of the entire game is a bit of a meh location.
Charles King
even with nevada skies brighter nights installed my game is basically unplayable at night time because it's pitch black, is there any way to fix this? it's also quite dark whenever it rains
Matthew Peterson

Sebastian Cooper
Would also leave a good amount of room for a "Are you a synth" storyline, whether to fuck with the player or if they're actually a synth.
Could do a bit of playing with moral ideas too, like if identity, memory, history, context etc constitute humanity and if so could it make a synth more human than the player, how important humanity and identity really are. If context and history contribute to somebody's personal morality (which would be especially relevant if your character was evil) and if it's important that they have a guiding figure (human parents, or the Synth's "Father") to shape their personality.
I dunno.
Lincoln Cruz
I get what you mean, New Vegas wasn't realized anywhere near as close as it is talked up as. But you really can only take it up with Todd, NV didn't get enough time to do what it wanted to do. It's why NV can feel like a lot of substance but little style - because the team only really had time to work on one, and they chose substance and story. It makes me sad that the best plot and location for a Fallout story since the first Fallout didn't get what it needed to see its full potential. What other mods you have installed?
Lucas Turner
So i'm modding out new vegas. Base game is a kickass RPG, but I want to add more gunplay and dungeons. A World of Pain seems okayish, but I installed it and it has all these fucking stupid NPCs everywhere, either unvoiced or generic.
I'm not interested in new quests or NPCs, I'm quite opposed to the additions really, especially with non-professional implementation.
Are there any other mods that add tons of dungeons?
Jaxon Jones
Reno was never hit by nukes since the casinos bet against being hit. Thought that was a cute easter egg from Wasteland with it's Vegas.
Would have liked the cities of Fallout 2 to be larger, even if it was just "everything beyond this is residential and boring". Also would have liked more quests in New Reno, like that cut powerplant quest or the full boxing quest.
Kevin Roberts
>(which would be especially relevant if your character was evil)
It would certainly be a kick in the teeth/mocking of the normie casual murderhobo style player who steals shit and kills people they don't like and doesn't think about anything.
Jordan Allen
Not really. Some quest mods have their own dungeons, but AWOP is the only dungeon compilation I know of.
John Clark
>What other mods you have installed?
quite a lot, the only one that interacts with the lighting would be dynavision 3
Matthew Torres
It was different. That time I uninstalled because of my mod setup. This time I uninstalled because I got bored of New Vegas, plain and simple.
Ryan Turner
that's a damn shame. I'm sure the dungeons are fine, but the NPCs are a heaping pile of dogshit that can't really be ignored.
Charles Phillips
If I recall, there is only like, 7 NPCs? The new gunshop, the ranger, the ammo shop in Novac, and a NPC at the new megadungeon?
Bentley Gutierrez
there's a metric fuck ton of unnamed npcs added everywhere. In goodsprings alone, there were some 8 'wasteland hero' and 'vigilante' npcs, all of which looked edgy as fuck and totally out of place.
Full combat and metal armors, military grade weapons, etc.
Isaiah Cruz
Oh, those guys. I forgot those ever existed. But if I recall, it made a little bit of sense. Those around Goodsprings and civilized areas were usually like "vigilantes" or whatever the lower level was with leather armor and shotguns, and you only found "Heros" with good gear and guns around the more dangerous outposts, like Sloan or the ranger outposts.
Jordan Howard
Either way, I'm not really a fan. I'm looking into patches to see if I can get rid of most of them, and i'm 100% ignoring all of the quests.
Just a bit of a shame that the one dungeon mod adds as much baggage as it does.
Alexander Williams
If you have the GECK for NV, I am sure you can find their entries and just set them not to spawn.
Grayson Morgan
The DMR would be nice
Alexander Mitchell
>windows 10 randomly revokes access to files >I'm the only administrator, it's a private pc >I have full access to all files from this log in >but it still says access denied on random files >sometimes files right next to each in the same directory will be denied while the rest aren't >look up online, go through the steps of granting ownership of all the files on the computer to this account >I shouldn't have to since I'm an admin and the only account, but whatever >it says access denied on the pop-up for granting access and seeing which accounts have access >naturally this fucks up modding since the mod files are randomly deemed inaccessible ?
Justin Russell
that's not a bad call honestly. There's a patch that removes the unnamed NPCs, so I'm using that and gonna see about digging around for a more in depth fix.
Charles Taylor
Was this suppose to be spooky? Dunwich Building in Fallout 3 did it better.
David Reyes
Eh, I've never been a fan of all the guns with the ammo counters on them. But without it the gun would be one sexy fucking gun.
I think the ODST power armor added in some Halo weapons, but they were of meh quality. Alright, good luck user. I dunno what the fuck I'm looking at here boss
Jack Mitchell
Hell the ammo counter could be a level 4 mod for all I care. I just want more single shot rifles
Anthony Jones
End part of the Dunwich Borers location. There is a pool you dive into and at the bottom is that face thing.
James Gray
>I want more of X The story of Fallout 4
Michael Johnson
Oh, something spooky happens there? I remember some weird visions but I never thought it was supposed to be spooky. I just cleared it out like any other raider dungeon.
Im on win 10 just fine, but I've had issue with other computers before
Evan Wood
It's at the pool with all the named ghouls.
Connor Cooper
Maybe if Bethesda rewarded exploration I would have found it. Oh well, guess it's something new.
Samuel Jones
>game I played years ago as a kid did it better! Dunwich Building was also a joke, take off your nostalgia glasses.
James Hughes
This
>ghouls ooOOooOoo >spooky statue >Buy my DLC for a mission WOoooOOoooOo
Daniel Myers
I thought the visions were cooler.
Only thing I remember from Point Lookout is everything hit like a truck.
Angel Perez
I can appreciate that the area has ambient sounds of Ghouls walking and growling at certain markers which actually made me spin around because i though someone is sneaking up on me.
But no overally there's nothing spooky about it.Mainly because i find FO4 Ghouls rather funny with their awkward shuffling/dancing.
Thomas Stewart
yeah, it doesn't let me edit the permissions on the files that say access denied.
someone mentioned OneDrive in the second one so if you have that enabled that might be the cause
Michael Morales
How do I fix the black faces?
I'm using the Oni cbbe nude teen and oni wet face textures but the faces still appear black.
Help
Thomas Scott
>massive statue buried in the hole nobody can see without going into the GECK odd
Joseph Sanders
Don't use highres facetextures in FO4, the game can't handle that. Do that only in more technically advanced games like Skyrim.
Aaron Cruz
you mean the hd texture pack dlc?
Parker Phillips
nvm the High Res DLC Black Face Fix fixed it for me
Charles Jenkins
It'll keep happening. Occasionally the game just refuses to load the Facegen data. It's most likely to happen when loading a quicksave or autosave but sometimes the game decides to shit the bed for no reason whatsoever. But reloading or going into SLM usually forces the facegen to load.
Cameron Richardson
speaking of, i didn't know that existed is it worth downloading?
Zachary Anderson
God no. The difference is minimal, yet all textures are uncompressed and stupidly huge. Some of them also look like they took normal textures and applied sharpening to them.
