first of all play hpm. wait until russians ally you. if they don't, wait until ottomans have no alliances and fight them 1v1 like a man. you should be able to do it with 5inf-5art + conscripts, as long as you get a good general, defend and get some nice techs.

make sure to store up 100k or more in cash before fighting them. machine guns will really help you against them late game. you also take thessaly for free around 1870-80.

Trying to make a map mod that looks like, well, a map from the Victorian era. This is what I have so far, it's not very authentic but it's better than vanilla. What can I do to make the rivers look better? Not very good at modding.

If you're serious then add a very light sepia overlay. Too much and it will detract from it entirely. Currently it looke far too colourful and vibrant.
