desu, the thing about S1 Rachel is that people are trying to think of very mundane reasons for why she did the things she did. Things like "she figured she doesnt like Chloe this way" or "she cheated" but I don't think DONTNOD's intention with her character was to have a down to Earth explanations about her actions. She's literally their version of Laura Palmer. An extraordinary girl with lots of dark secrets, who was into many dangerous things all the while fooling everyone around to believe her persona of a perfect girl. Laura fucked her drug dealer and older men too while having a boyfriend (the difference is that Bobby didn't actually care about her, while to Chloe she is everything) and no one knew. I think Rachel, like Laura, was supposed to have this mythical aura about her and the more you learned the more you were to realize something was terribly off about her (dealing drugs, multiple relationships, blood oaths etc). Personally I never got the impression she cared about Frank, more like she was after his drugs/drug money/truck. Same with Jefferson, she probably saw him as a free ticket to a career. Even with Chloe she might have thought "a girl who hates this place, maybe I can use her to get out of here" (that didnt work out though). So yeah my takeaway of her character from the first LIS was that she might or might have not care about people like Chloe or Frank but she wanted to get out of Arcadia Bay above anything else. That's S1 Rachel though. BtS Rachel, while we don't have the whole picture yet, seems to be genuinely into Chloe. Maybe they'll hint on why things become the way they are with her in S1 (be it supernatural or psychological) Or maybe through your actions you can lead her to a better place >inb4 wahh they wouldn't do that I mean BtS will already allow you make choices inconsistent with the S1 timeline, like getting expelled in 2010 when in S1 Chloe wasnt expelled until after May 2011 so..
