Holy shit the shield of cthulu is so fun, why isn't this dash attack automatically granted to melee weapons?

Entered hardmode for the first time maybe a week ago, by now I'm able to farm the 3 mechanical bosses without breaking much sweat. Blood moons, goblin and pirate invasions and solar eclipses are getting boring as well.

So, what's the next step in progression? Back to the jungle and fight Plantera or something like that? Also, is Chlorophyte armor worth getting? (I'm still on Adamantine melee armor, Hallowed doesn't seem to be much of an upgrade).

Plantera > Dungeon farming > Golem > Martians > Old One's Army > Moons > Moon Lord > Build a comfy city

Make turtle armor instead of Chlorophyte.

The turtle shells have awful drop rates. So far I've only got 1 shell after killing countless of those fuckers.

You'll need the turtle armor to get the best melee armor anyway so you might as well give it another try.
And I suggest going for the Chlorophyte set too, it has a fun set effect.

Why does demonite/crimtane even spawn in worldgen?

it feels like if you mined the entire world you'd have enough for like 8 bars at most. it's so sparse, it's basically just a 'oh yeah, this exists" thing.

How do I expert skeletron?

It teases a new player for what's to come. I still remember when I first saw mysterious glowing ores in the darkness, went out to mine it and was like "omg super rare ores". Admittedly that was when demonite was one of the best metals.

I know what to do but I cant beat him. I use minishark and mobility accessories and shark necklace.

Mining is now deprecated, it's kind of sad. They should replace those demonite / crimtane deposits with cobalt. That way if you explored half the map, maybe you could mine enough for a sword or repeater.
The underworld still needs an actual makeover too.

Set up spawn point at one end of platform, run to end of platform while fighting, use recall potion to teleport back to start

also in expert mode you should be using basically every combat potion available when fighting a boss

though you could also just cheese your way to a meteor pickaxe with bombs/dynamite then run to hell and get hellstone

No. AlchemistNPC is either one or two NPCs that sell potions. Alchemist also has support for thorium or luiafk

I literally don't even get hit anymore after I discovered you can just move in circles around him and the ghost attacks will always miss. The hardest part is when the skull charges at you in low health and you need to change directions, because he moves pretty fast.

Thorium has a little wisp that drops healing notes. they are really garbage sadly, 5 hp every 2 seconds
Much better though, it has a light pet that gives the heart and star lamp buffs to you constantly
pets that do damage are called summons.
mobile/console has normal pets that do damage though

can I use a different wavebank while playing with mods (thorium)?

Mod music is separate from the game's wavebank so it'll be fine. If I'm not mistaken you could even change the mod music by going into the Cache folder but I haven't tried that myself.
