Am I forced to have certain elemental combinations, like blast+corrosive or gas+magnetic or can I shuffle them around somehow?

You use whatever is appropriate for the task, i suggest making a Grineer, Corpus and Infested profile for each weapon targeting their weaknesses and use auto for max damage in the cases where mixed enemies are a thing.

in the cases of mixed enemies you build for the strongest and hardest to beat enemies that potentially come up, which is Grineer

What if I want to have corrosive+gas for example.

Impossible for most weapons, as Toxin is required for both combos.

The few exceptions are ones that have innate combo elements. Arca Plasmor for example has Radiation damage by default, but can still use heat and electric mods in different element combinations, so you can have Radiation+Corrosive+Blast.

Then you have to use a weapon with base corrosive or base gas damage.

Zatki and Scourge are the only ones that come to mind.

Hema is good because you can stack viral + corrosive or gas.

That's fine if you can output enough damage, but if you can't you're gonna be weak against Corpus.

Not quite right. You can only get those weird combos with weapons that have combo elements already.

Amprex and Synapse for example have base Electric damage, and will combo with any other elemental mod on it. You won't be able to get, say, Electric/Magnetic on these weapons, even if you stuck Cold and Electric mods on them.

Scourges innate corrosive and base 30% status chance is really good, it's too bad people are too into making the biggest numbers to really appreciate it.

Literally a status Applicator, and don't skimp on the fucking fire rate mod. You can get Rad/Vir/Corr, Gas/Mag/Corr, or Blast/Corr combos.

Honestly the only time I need to switch from using the scourge is when Im using it on Sortie 3 De Thaym Assassinate to strip her armor before using radiation peacemaker to DPS.

Just FYI, Your method is redundant. The only portion of Kela's health that's weak to radiation is the armor, and once it's been removed, radiation no longer gets the bonus.

The existing stats are good but flight speed is worthless on a hitscan weapon. If it wasn't there your mag cap and raw damage would be even higher.
