I'm playing AMR2 instead of Return of Samus. I've only played Metroid and Super Metroid, but plan on playing the other games and Samus Returns later. Did I goof?

Playing SR right now and for some reason, my Ice Beam disappeared.
I'm only like 6% into the game and just encountered one of those weird crystals with the purple smoke that drains your energy (spoilers are absolutely minimal by the way), then died and when continuing, I didn't shoot ice anymore.
Even after quitting and playing from the last save point, where I still had it before saving, nothing changed.
In the R1 Menu however it does say I have the Ice Beam.

What I want to test is whether a memory card can be accessed when mounted as uma0:.
If one can access it just like usual, I'll be able to dump some nice games plus a bit of DLC in the near future (for NoNpDrm usage).
I don't think that the Vita actually disallows the access (since it usually doesn't even have uma0: ) but I don't actually know whether it will work.

Thing is, it runs games at 12 FPS in just the menu. It gives a message starting up about missing the appropriate bios, I know where to get that and such but where do I put it on the SD card? Sorry for being a hassle, I couldnt find anything on it though
