FEW feels kinda like a huge meme, honestly.
HW felt like there was genuinely love and care for the franchise even if if suffered from popularity focus as well. FEW seems like it's trying to replicate that effect with another long-running sword&magic series that happened to get a recent popularity boost, but without anyone really caring about it other than the gameplay elements (weapon triangle, pair-up, fliers, etc, which are being wanked to no end in interviews). I can believe there being long-time, hardcore Zelda fans at KT because it's a widely-beloved series, but FE is still a rather niche series even in Japan with most of its popularity being centered around two games out of 12 not counting remakes.

Should have just made Hyrule Warriors 2 and suckled a bit more off that teat with more meme characters like Vaati etc.

There's no news on Smash for the Switch or the next Pokemon games after USUM, and Warriors doesn't look like it will have any level of longevity. So no, I'll have to pass.
