How do we fix the late game difficulty, /xcg/?

i did a big mistake with veteran difficulty. and i did another mistake by playing wotc. but what where they thinking by cutting the dlc story missions out of the game?

anyway, should i wait for the lw2 update or start with commander difficulty + some mods?

You literally have the option of choosing to play with the DLC story missions on or off. And it's easy to roll through the game on Legend, of course starting on Veteran was a mistake.

Not sure what your problem was, there user. I'm guessing there was a shorter route to take. I've done a number of those missions on Legend and with dashes I usually have a ranger there on the 3rd or 4th turn. It can get close, but I've always been able to make it.

The mission doesn't even end when the timer runs out. What's the problem?

of course, X2 is really lacking a generic but threatening lategame enemy (Advent just aren't good enough). I feel like they also need to make pod sizes bigger by lategame

If you survive the first two months, yeah.
Which is why Commander+your own difficulty tweaks is the ultimate solution.

It's not a hacking one with nodes for extra turns it's the mission with the VIP at the car you need to reach before the turret runs out of ammo.

I ran in a straight line and was still one dash away when i ran out of time, maybe I got a bad map

The lost kill the VIP because I can't move him and I was far away enough that my shots were sub 70% so I missed several and got overwhelmed

Apart from getting screwed by unlucky RNG, I don't usually have more than one or two deaths after the first couple of months on Legend. If you want less health on enemies, shorter build times, etc, then just play on Commander. If you're consistently struggling on the Legend early game, you should probably not blame difficulty setting.

It will be right now Pavonis are focusing on making a Standalone for Lasers and Coils for WotC.

To further expand on this, it is a LW2 Weapons pack and is going to be a unified pack including Lasers, Coil and SMGs - apparently no individual mods for each of those for WotC.

Somebody should make a WoTC version of the other LW1 weapons that got remade for 2 ages ago

To be fair to Johnny "RNG decides if you can win my mod" Lump, they can probably get the weapons out much faster than the Aliens. Still, we have no official confirmation they're working on the Alien Pack. If they end up deciding it is too much work, I hope someone at least ports over the old one.

They're working on it, going by the comments on the workshop page, but it is apparently slightly more broken due to WotC, and they're also taking the opportunity to tune up aspects of the mod.

I got the sniper and bio troops. It makes the engagements more interesting. Of course, if they are on the map. The sniper has high accuracy and long watch, which it tends to use a lot. Bio troopers bring a lot of diffrent bullshit to the mix to make everything more fun. Regular Bio troops are stronger versions of regular troopers with Gas Grenades and toxic immunity. Assault troopers can enter statis when they have 1 pip of health left and they regenerate health. Bio MECs replace their grenade launcher with an Acid one. Basicaly, they bring new spice to the table.

First encounter with a preist. How do you deal with stasis? Was rescuing mox and a preist and a lancer dropped. The preist, in full cover at the limit of my vision, put one guy in stasis and then boosted the lancer. Lancer tanked 2 overwatch shots and hit me and then the guy in stasis was put in stasis for the next 3 turns as we ran to the evac.

Is it a guaranteed hit? I had a soldier next to him and he couldn't "help" him out of it.

My 2 least favorite classes in vanilla were sniper and sword ranger. But with the Vhosen weapons and multiple abilities they've become insane

They were 2 groups patrolling for a while but I guess killing the nearby mutons spooked them. I really needed it since it was an exquisite timing run and only had magnetic weapons.
