So as much as Im liking Ys 8 Im actually finding the titular Dana to be EXTRAORDINARILY boring. She's sickeningly sweet, and generally a pretty vacuous bland character so far. What;s more all her allies basically try to TELL US her personality in not so subtle ways but you can say Tomboy Maiden till you're blue in the face and it won't make it so. And every time the game shifts over to her shit just comes to a grinding halt.

I like the game when it's being Ys Sir Arthur Conan Doyle edition and I wonder if all this Dana business wasn't tossed in after the fact for the sake of a blue haired snowflake waifu because it feels rather disconnected as of chapter 3 when the finding survivors, building a base camp and looking for a means to escape is generally working pretty well.
