TO FSHWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHGRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHRY OF THE ELDERS
Oliver Ortiz
>Kiryu-Kai
When will it end? Why do people still refrence this thing?
Jose Campbell
Which is more important to get early Infirmary to get soldiers back on their feet Resistance coms to get to the alien facilities so avatar project doesn't go through the roof Or resistance ring to get all that nice neat new stuff? Also does infirmity speed up tired soldiers recovery or just wounds?
Wyatt Reed
The Ring is as important as GTS, so that. Infirmary only affects wounds, but it also lets you remove negative traits. Only really needed once you start stacking those traits or if RNG really hates you.
Andrew Martin
Okay /xcg/, we've wrapped it up. Here's the mod you've all been waiting for, in action:
I don't think I'll ever get tired of this dumb photobooth.
Michael Gonzalez
Ah. Also whats the split thing on my soldiers will about? Are those permanent loss's or like another fatigue thing?
Michael Reed
>mission came up at inopportune time and I'm going to have to do a tough one with really shitty troops
wish me luck lads..
Hunter Wright
>be the Hunter >currently sabotaging the Avenger >get caught by a group of soldiers >manage to convince them I'm just a tall human lmao >but now I have to play along or they will suspect something is up >they bring me to the barracks >mfw
Luke Fisher
Ranger : >why is he so tall ? and so blue ?
Grayson Young
Maybe he'll get to actually do something this time.
Grayson Lopez
That seems like the kind of trouble Hunter could get into. Anything to avoid doing what the Elders want you to.
Joshua Collins
pretty sure your ranger is check out that tight templar ass
Josiah Martinez
>guys, I don't think he is human >I mean, it's not humanly possible to shoot an advent trooper at the opposite end of the map like he just did
Ian Allen
>Has Killzone JAKE
Luis Price
Where is this from? And can you get the other Chosen?
Adrian Rogers
>can't he stop the bant for a second
Austin Miller
...
Josiah Butler
Damn, now I want to roll around as a 3-man Chosen squad.
Nicholas Myers
Funny, he doesn't have Killzone listed in his skills in the .ini files.
Ayden Howard
hunter pls
Liam Martin
It's a cool little thing. >there was an x-com precursor organisation that got fucked It's interesting. Expanding on them might be fun, even if it was a tragic tale of them doing their best and just getting fucked.
Jason Miller
Not even Advent's priests can resist that templar ass
Nathaniel Lewis
And he turns into a midget when he toss a grenade
I think it's kill zone, but the ability has no name, no description and I can't activate it for some reason
I downloaded the old playable advent mod, and replaced the muton files by the hunter files If you just want to try controlling the chosen, you can also just launch the debug version of the game (steamapps\common\XCOM 2\XCom2-WarOfTheChosen\Binaries\Win64\Launcher\StartDebugging.bat), click "tactical", and then you can make a squad with any unit of the game
Carson Brown
motherfucker, Kiryu-kai is literally from a Lets play/Fanfiction by Something Awful user, GuavaMoment
also, you can get the main character of this lets play in EU/EW by renaming one of you soldier to Otto Zander
Landon Foster
It's probably his tracking shot ability.
Camden Carter
No, the symbol for Tracking Shot is the 2nd slot on his hotbar
Jaxon Watson
too bad they didnt include hero soldiers in X2
Ayden Baker
>tiredness is based on actions taken >all of your guys will be tired after a Lost mission because of how many shots they're going to be firing
Nathaniel Thompson
There are. Beagle is one of them.
Easton Lopez
>the only ranking member of my team, a ranger, is also the only one targeted by sectoids >mind controlled three separate times, personally killed two other soldiers >only people to make it out were the rescued agents
Christian Wilson
Whats special about him? Can he overwatch for 30 mins straight waiting for a pod
Josiah Brown
Yes, I know about the LP. I remembered it being mentioned in the manual before that, but turns out Im misremembering.
Ayden Bailey
But they did, you can get Sid Meier and Van Doorn.
Caleb Stewart
...
Samuel Cox
Tracking shot is actually 2 abilities, the first one for preparing the shot and the second for shooting, which unlock only after the first one is activated
Isaiah Johnson
Wrong. Will loss is based on enemies seen.
So, still fucked after a lost mission, but for a different reason.
Benjamin Gutierrez
i remember trying van doorn but it didnt work back then
Jose Peterson
What class is the best for a John Wick character?
Chase Sanders
Warlock Mc'd one of my troops, teleported it into a overwatch which nearly killed her only to shoot at another one of my soldiers and almost kill her
Caleb Brown
Ranger with Serial maybe.
Sebastian Thompson
Skirmisher
Angel Lopez
If you dont mind mods, probably Infantry. ARs and pistols.
Jack Jenkins
...
Jaxon Nguyen
>mind control Priest >buff yourself with Holy Warrior >put priest in a corner somewhere >enjoy +1 Health and +25% crit
What could possibly go wrong?
Jose Morales
If the priest dies will it kill your lad too?
Parker Adams
>Warlock uses a Mind Scorch on my Gunslinger >Using a Mindshield >It obviously does nothing >"A curious outcome"
10/10 Firaxis. That shit made my day.
Xavier Rodriguez
Last one, in which you can see a little better how he swap his skeleton for a "normal-sized" one when tossing a smoke grenade It seems he can only throw the concussion grenade correctly
Wyatt Hall
So which chosen would be the best ruler for humanity?
Juan Wood
Living on the edge.
Isaac Scott
The real question is whether you can mind control a priest, cast Holy Warrior on an enemy, and then gank the priest to oneshot that enemy.
Jose Myers
Bants man. He only likes to hunt
Landon Baker
I wish I did Legendary instead. After the rollercoaster beginning [squadwiped on the second mission after a flawless gatecrasher, kek] it was a cakewalk. Killing the chosen just makes it flatline.
I got stressed out a lot whenever the game crashed, thinking i'd lose my iron meme save.
Jaxon Peterson
Hunter would be far too lazy and irresponsible. Wouldn't get anything done. Warlock would probably do a good job, provided people knelt before him and worshipped him appropriately. I got nothin for the buttbuttin.
Carson Taylor
>The real question is whether you can mind control a priest, cast Holy Warrior on an enemy, and then gank the priest to oneshot that enemy.
No you can only cast it on allies when MC'd. It's great for rangers and templars.
Ayden Nguyen
Warlock would cleanse humanity though
Hudson Peterson
The Commander.
Austin Bell
>Average turns left on mission timers. >7.75.
Explain yourself
Jack Morris
Either Hunter or Assassin.
Hunter basically wouldn't kill anyone that doesn't resist and would probably just use Advent's resources to create super predators to hunt instead of fucking up society but he'd definitely turn any warzone into his personal killing ground Predator style so he'd be a pretty efficient motivator for world peace and Assassin strikes me as the ruthlessly efficient ruler that leaves the planet better than when she first got it but maybe some people got euthanized along the way. That said I'm not sure she wouldn't just kill all humans and replace them with Sneks or something because they make better citizens.
Warlock is retarded and crazy, don't let him near ultimate power.
Andrew Smith
Second Wave that doubles turn timers. I also wish I had turned that off because it was way overkill.
Gavin Walker
Are all the chosen immune to flashbangs without the explosion immunity strength?
Daniel Parker
Yes, they also comment on you using flashbangs on them
Anthony Ross
Sharpshooter
Cause he will shoot you in the motherfucking head
Jaxon Cruz
What do they say?
Aaron Williams
no you're not misremembering, he's wrong
Cameron Evans
Variations of "Did you really think that would work on me?"
Levi Walker
Has Long War Studios uttered a peep since WOTC launched? I want my Perk Pack back, dammit.
Owen Scott
...
Asher Carter
laser and smg pack and I think the officer class were mentioned on their forums
besides that not that I know
Nathaniel Flores
>damage reduction based on Cover values from LW1 >Grenade and Rocket aim values jerry rigged from XCOM EU's Rocket Aim stats.
Would these two things solve the Alpha Strike problems of XCOM 2?
Dylan Bennett
steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1136811920 Here's the Chosen AI mod. If you end up using it, please let me know if it's breaking or conflicting with everything, A Better AI was working fine with it for me as it basically doesn't touch the Chosen at all but anything can happen. I'll be gone for the night soon, so I won't be able to make any changes until tomorrow.
Evan Brooks
>taking Quiet over D-Dog
Jose Mitchell
Excuse me Commander, but one of your soldiers seems to be having one of those naked in class dreams.
Isaac Evans
There's a Resistance order that increases all timers by 2 turns in game and that was sufficient.
William Hernandez
Thank you
Jason Reed
There's also the true concealment resistance order
Benjamin Adams
Like everyone else says I don't think the assassin needs to be any smarter. Her default tactic of attacking out of stealth and running out of LoS is annoying enough
Camden Thomas
Yep, Kiryu-Kai are from the manual to OG X-COM
"It is the year 1999. Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) have started appearing with disturbing regularity in the night skies. Reports of violent human abductions and horrific experimentation has struck terror into the hearts of millions. Mass public hysteria has only served to expose Earth’s impotence against a vastly superior technology.
Many countries have attempted to deal independently with the aliens. In August 1998, Japan established an anti-alien combat force; the Kiryu-Kai. Equipped with Japanese-made fighter aircraft, the Kiryu-Kai certainly looked like a powerful force. However, after 5 months of expensive operations they had yet to intercept their first UFO. The lesson was clear: this was a worldwide problem which could not be dealt with by individual countries.
On December 11, 1998, representatives from the world’s most economically powerful countries gathered secretly in Geneva. After much debate, the decision was made to establish a covert independent body to combat, investigate and defeat the alien threat. This organization would be equipped with the world’s finest pilots, soldiers, scientists and engineers, working together as one multi-national force. This organization was named the Extraterrestrial Combat Unit. "
You're wrong. The LP merely ran with the lore about the Kiryu-Kai and expanded on them in one update.
Landon Cox
Will the Hunter try less often to fire real rounds on your soldiers, and use his traking shot more ? He wiped my whole squad the first time I met him, because he wouldn't stop flanking and shooting my guys I didn't even know he had a tranquilizer before killing him permanently
Nathaniel Torres
Tracking Shot is currently only used before he engages your troops. He actually does have a behavior in the default AI to use Tracking Shot even when engaged, but I have never seen him use it once. Yeah, the tranquilizer is used extremely rarely for reasons I can't determine for certain. As far as I can tell, he only considers using it if he only has LoS on one soldier and is close to them.
Henry Ramirez
>This organization would be equipped with the world’s finest pilots, soldiers, scientists and engineers, working together as one multi-national force Man, that flavour text really did not translate well to gameplay
Jaxon Wilson
Can you create an option to play with only the AI tweaks?
Also, do the Chosen have separate AI for normal encounters and Avenger Defense/Chosen Stronghold missions?
Adrian Jones
Just imagine how much worse anything but Earth's Finest would have been.
Eli Ross
So I'm doing my first rescue captured person thing. Does that whole alertness level mean I'm actually supposed to do the whole thing while not engaging enemies? Should I try legit doing it with no kills or just set up cool ambushes.
Joshua Smith
Stealth the whole thing.
Lucas Hernandez
I'm considering making separating the AI tweaks and making the gameplay changes into a larger mod. I might just put out a tweak-only version tomorrow. Their AI is the same across all missions.
Grayson Walker
>tfw quiet gave you a pantyhose fetish >no torn pantyhose plebeian
Alexander King
To be fair, the scientists and engineers actually get things done pretty damn fast if you compare it to real world work schedules. Its mostly just the combat roles fucking it up there.
Charles Wright
Hunter would be bad because he would keep on swooping in the hunting down the most powerful person, continuously creating huge power vacuums Assassin would probably be the best imo. I'm not sure exactly what her goals would be, but she seems to honor bound and doesn't really have any scary ambitions either Warlock would be the worse, he'd probably cleanse the world of all the "unworthy," whatever he decides that is.
Ayden Rivera
Alright. Fuck, I should have brought a ranger. My specialist is all the way at the back of the facility by running around the side and if I had my ranger there the other two could go loud and make a distraction while they stay concealed.
Jayden Gray
I did one with kills once because there was an Archon and 2 troopers sitting at the cell with 3 more troopers and 2 turrets with LoS and I didn't have plasma grenades/didn't know claymores could destroy cell walls.
Do not recommend. My ranger got shot in the ass on the way out, my grenadier had to drop the soldier to make a low % shot to stay alive at one point, and if all 5 troopers and turret alive at the end hadn't been on the other side of the base, I would have gotten destroyed.
Anthony Rodriguez
How do you get the glow on Nova's gear? I have my graphic settings up on high and said armor doesn't glow
Benjamin Moore
pls give feedback
Camden Smith
>Their AI is the same across all missions. Is there any way to alter that? There's no good reason for them to play the same when they're looking for info vs kills.
Luke Evans
WAIT FUCK WHY DOES PICKING UP A BODY SUDDENLY REVEAL ME?
