Please stop making these threads. Thank you in advance.

Thank you for posting this thread, OP. Thank you retroactively.

No matter how many shitposts you make in /vg to knock off slow threads this thread will never die.

>/vg
You're missing a slash, it's Veeky Forums. Why am I seeing more people doing shit like this?

Some games you look at your team and just go "I'm fucked. Well, truly, and utterly fucked."

You just look at the sloppy pile of trash chassis and know you've been stuck in with the most retarded pile of failboats for a guaranteed loss.

Sure enough, 0-12 and actually toppin' the loserboard at barely 200 damage because the team literally ran away and mostly died from backshots when pushed.

That's my meme. Please delete this post. Thank you in advance

bump

>it's another "You had to beat half the enemy team to death yourself" episode
>watch opponent crest hill, shoot in face with ATMs, get assault kill
>repeat 3 more times in a row on heavies and assaults
>enemy team stops trying to push
>walk out into open and bully lights trying to vulture kills

If ATMs weren't so shit vs AMS, I'd carry twice as many for how badly they fuck things up.

bamp

guys is MWO p2w?

It's pay to whale.

Whoa, shit robots.

Patchnotes? No?
May be quircks for IIC Heroes?
No?

poopbois

There will probably be quirks, but nothing too impressive.

They're saving the patch notes until the last minute so people don't have time to refund the Clan Heroes when they find out how they've been nerfed upon release.

Wow. Thats actually a really wise move from pig, i'm impressed.

How many heatsinks you want?

>not in game yet
>nerfed

Superior Clan heatsink counts are why they took your home planet.

Neutered in advance, probably a better way of saying it. It's not like they'd signficantly quirk the Onions, who get a little armor bonus and that's it. Probably something basically useless on top of that to get the really stupid to buy one, but that's it.

Basically meaning people purchased those variants after theorycrafting builds on those Mechs with expected weapon performance based on how they work now, that won't be what they expect after those weapons are nerfed in the patch.

Or otherwise the protest refunds that seem to always happen because a particular patch hurts people's feefees and they want to make a statement before making snobby remarks on the forum about how their wallets are closed, after they already spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on a free game to fund trips to Vegas.

...

It was their position at the time.

...

Is Bishop Steiner having a mental breakdown or something? He's having a meltdown on the forums with the MW:5 "no customization" threads

Are they actually under the impression that you won't be able to change the weapons on your mechs?

Everyone in those threads seems to have become more autistic than usual, but Steiner's taken the full dose.

Old meme here.

Yeah, 300+ mech warriants and everyone will play top 10 lore-boats. Thats all.
I just wanted to ask does someone know if there'll be trudubs or not, but i know i'll pirate the sit out of incoming mw5. Just because i've already fed the pig and what they done and didnt done to mwo.

What they mean is you can't change the technology of your mech. You can't upgrade to ferro, can't upgrade to endo, can't upgrade to double heatsinks. If you want better technology, you need to buy a more expensive, advanced variant. Makes perfect sense.

If you actually think PGI won't let you change weapons (to some extent) then you are more stupid than PGI themselves.

>pig wont give you functional mechlab
I wonder if this is pauleconomy 2.0 or just a deeprooted unreal-engine errors?

I honestly think it's a good idea for a singleplayer game.

Please stop making these threads. Thank you in advance

what happened to lao hu?

Fucking doubleposter, i bet you like your shitty IS small lasers too.

I'm not kakos, I just woke up a little earlier today.

I'm kakos

It's a bad idea where every single game has had a true born mechlab.

can't trump the bump

This is a thread late so hopefully you're still around to read this; there are several 'mechs that can do what you want, but it depends on what weapons you want to be using. You really don't want to be boating lasers as your primary damage output, since the heat they rack up will ruin you if you intend to leave your armor on during combat, which you need to if you want to get the most out of it. Some backup lasers are fine, but there's no good option for a stealth laser boat, so we're gonna focus on missiles and ballistics.

For SRMs, your best options are either the RVN-3L or the ASN-27. The ASN can cram more firepower in, but it runs hotter, is a bigger target, and goes slower, so I personally haven't tried it. The RVN, on the other hand, has been great; it's small enough to go unnoticed, has good enough hitboxes to take some hits, and packs just enough firepower so that you're doing damage while also managing your non-dissipating heat. If you don't mind taking a light, this is a great option. I personally like to take extra ammo for when a fight drags out or I decide to go into faction play, so if you find 4.5 tons excessive you can trade one or two tons out for DHS.

mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=33&l=4600f3f8f4333b9e79d305e6b462afd3bab16ba4

For MRMs, the GRF-2N is your best bet; you don't want to go heavier than a medium, but you need as much tonnage as possible to cram everything in. I started out using an LFE275, but after some time playing it I've found I tend to be dead as soon as I lose a side torso anyway, and having more speed helps a lot with how large and obvious the Griffin and its hitboxes are. You could do either of these two builds and perform fine, but my money's on the second one over the first unless you're dead set on damage tanking for some reason.

cont.

As for ballistics, it's a matter of what gun you want and how fast you want to go with it. The PHX-1B works great with a single RAC/5, but I'm not entirely settled on a build for it yet so you'll have to work that out on your own if you wanna try it. If you want a LB10X, the Darkdeath (ASN hero) wins by a mile due to its quirks and the value of being the smallest ECM-capable 'mech with a good ballistic hardpoint. For Gauss, the Ghillie (ENF hero) is the best option, since it's literally the only medium 'mech you can fit the gun into. The ASN is too light to fit it, and the PHX can't fit it because of its hand actuator, so this is what you have to go with if you want to snipe with stealth armor and still move at a respectable speed. These are the Darkdeath and Ghillie builds respectively, if you happen to have some event MC saved up it's worth considering.

Fell free to make your own teaks to these builds, but this should at least give you a place to start. The general rule for stealth 'mechs is to be able to put the armor to good use by not cooking yourself with it on, and all of these builds will achieve that as long as you're not firing the backup lasers constantly. Half of the benefit to stealth is obviously being able to sneak up on your opponent, but the other half is in being able to take advantage of your stealth armor once combat starts. It's a nice advantage for you when your opponent can't see where you've taken damage; unless you start smoking they won't know where best to hit you. It's also nice to be immune to lockon weaponry, and 99% of the time your opponents won't have a NARC or TAG to counter you since everyone's too busy cramming in as much firepower as possible.

That's about all I can offer you, so best of luck to ya out there if you decide to try one of these out.

COCKSHOT

what does stealth armor even do exactly?

Basically ECM, but at any range. You can't be locked on to, can't be targeted, but in return you also can't dissipate heat. Or at least, it's supposed to stop you from dissipating heat, but piggy temperature coding makes it to where you slowly dissipate heat anyway if the map is cold enough. It's great for moving undetected, and also great for when you're in a fight since the armor stops your opponents from seeing where best to shoot you on the paperdoll.

What's being missed in those threads is that PGI not adding a Mechlab or full customization isn't out of some altruistic sense of good game design or catering to lore, but because they lack the programming competence to include it in time for a 2018 release. Also means they could ditch dynamic weapon modelling that would be seen in the Mechlab by instead just going with fixed weapon models for each variant, even though the notion of having manufacturer specific weapons should mean each individual weapon of a given type can look different on the Mech anyway. Also seems why they are trying to conjure up 300 procedurally generated maps that by definition will be randomized from a pool of assets and incapable of being balanced or tested in how they will play out because of the randomization, as they can't make that many maps the normal way and actually give each planet a unique appearance and playstyle after telling the players it costs $250,000 just to make one. This all leads to the "dynamic" campaign that could very well be randomized missions on said randomized planets with AI that have to get pathing to work around randomized terrain and it seems the minimally viable attitude is still running strong for the "new MW5 team" that is just the group that was repurposed from pic related.

It'll be a one-time cost. No micro-transactions/DLC/etc.
It'll be offline (singleplayer) only. No MP.

So how will they make money?

by costing 40-60 dollars, probably.

Pretty much, however the (g)oldmen are so desperate for a new single player MechWarrior they'll instantly make themselves believe it'll be good.

But that's my preferred game pay model
How am I supposed to call them jews?

>189673389
When they forget to actually make a game worth 40-60 dollars and when they inevitably add overpriced, underwhelming dlc.

Quad mechs when? I really have a hankering to ride into glorious battle inside my trusty steed while waving a saber outside of the cockpit window.
When will I be able to do this?

Wouldn't they be able to side step, or strafe better than a bipedal mech?

I would think so, or in lieu of that, accel and decl should be better than in a bipedal.

That's less than 10% of what I spent on some jpegs from Chris Roberts so this sounds great to me.

Ha Epic

is it 'fishing for drama' time?

there's a mechlab dummy

...

The mechlab will customize the loadouts, but not swap out the armor and structure, which is fine. Also prevents strapping 15 of the same weapon.

He literally explains what it is right there. No chassis upgrades, so you can't circumvent the need to buy an expensive high-tech chassis.

If PGI somehow weren't capable of making a functional mechlab, how the fuck do you think they are making the "300" variants in the first place?

300-400 variants with "strictly defined roles" and weapons from different manufacturers. Sounds like they want to keep the variant loadouts fixed to justify the existence of so many and encourage the PokéMech mentality of gotta catch em all with the "customization" being swapping out weapon types from one manufacturer for identical weapon types of another for weapon quirks or having certain manufacturers only available from certain planets to have people hunt around for the type they want.

The more I hear about mw5 the better it sounds. Looking forward to seeing the demo soon.

Kills Confirmed

Unf how Shaix is so good?

Different variants depending on the territory. Two factions might have the exact same loadout for one mech, with different weapon manufacturers, making them different variants despite being pretty much identical.

It's not far fetched. MWO has 52 IS mechs with upwards of like 8 variants on some mechs, that quickly adds up. And yeah some of those are later in the timeline than MW5 but you get my point.

Wow... bad move. Not wanting to buy this. No fun allowed.

It's a trade. Your heat sinks don't work (but you'll cool slowly on a cold map), but in return you don't show up on heat vision and can't be targeted (but it also F's up your capacity to target others).

Fortunately, you can shut it off at any time, though it has a ten second reset before being turned back on. As usual, PGI managed to fuck things up, as stealth armor in TT just effectively generated constant levels of heat that equaled 10 SHS worth of cooling...rather than shutting down cooling entirely.

One drawback is they're tremendously vulnerable to flamer fire. At one point, I stuck a flamer on my missile boat for laughs and just doused a Commando doing loops around me.

Shuts down along with his ECM. I've got an active probe. One lock later, he's not there anymore. Fortunately, most people don't pack flamers, and most of the ones that do, you can outrun or just shut down stealth mode.

Never, because PGI cannot into a quad model. Unlike MechWarrior 2.

They would. Quads can "lateral shift" (strafe) in TT.

If MWO had quads, it'd only sensible to make them more agile in that regard. Four legs good and all that.

I'm glad they're stopping cheese loadouts from the get go

who would have thought pig would have a bright idea

>0 damage
>1 assist
>in a Grasshopper

With teams like those, the kill counter just flips up by itself.

That takes effort.

Wouldn't want those AI bots calling out the player for ez mode and hax over comms now, it might hurt some feelings and make people drop the single player game due to toxicity.

Are you the grasshopper pilot? Maybe robot games aren't for you.

>wants zero challenge
Don't you have homework to do kiddo?

>AI bots

...

Soon.

PATCH NOTES?

Homework would be more challenging at this point than PGI built AI.

Bombashill previews tootsie mechs right now btw

Next thing is the Clan Heroes II preview stream.

I don't even think they could do tanks effectively, and those are basically turrets that move.

The only virtue Escort has is some maps it forces a combat outside the usual PUG zones.

noice

why not a UAC10 instead of a regular AC10 tho?

its heavy and even with 30% reduced jam chance they still jam all the time

Man, you guys are really dedicated to your respective memes. Every single thread.

It's compulsive memesterbation.

bampu

kys

Anything show up on the Hero IIC stream other than self-fellation by PGI? At work, can't bring it up for laughs.

AP (american primetime) when?

It's almost 5 pm East Coast and 1 pm West Coast. So it'll be a little while still.

It's funny but you'll still beg for an easier difficulty in mw5.

Oh, I'm sure there will be a "dumbass 50 year old grognard" level of difficulty. They do know their audience.

Still no patch notes.

...

Soon™

...

Theres going to be cheese, there will always be cheese. The problem is that PGI's idea of a fix is that they should make less cheese, so now people will stick to very specific mechs in a single player game instead of just playing what ever the fuck they want.
