Why do you hate "meta faggotry". I'm SL 125 because that's the most active bracket for PvP. I also don't like lower level builds because you have to seriously gimp yourself either in terms of damage or survivability.

just katanner and shield, i have carthus flame arc and then great chaos fire orb for extra damage on bosses or bigger guys.

Armor excluding the Blindfold Mask is built through the armor optimizer so it's negotiable, and Untrue Dark is there mainly as a placeholder/utility slot.

Went with Dark LKSS over Crystal because MLGS already provides magical damage, and was aiming for flexibility. I'm fully aware that it's extremely inefficient, and could go with Sharp instead if needed.

Then just drop all the INT and the pyro glove, use resins instead. Get 60 DEX and infuse katana with sharp, keep STR to a minimum.

Resins do more damage than a shitty Flame Arc with 20/10 stats invested.

i always get lagcasters. doesn't help i space out in most fights against them because they all back roll and spam spells, turning the fight into a mini bullethell

There are many people like you. They're generally referred to as shitters.

This just hurts to read but caster build is essentially "play the hand that is dealt" or hardmode. When compared with its usefulness, a good part of the spells are theorycrafted to fill some lore. same principle applies to weapons and gear to a minor degree.
You can't blame Sorcery to be only good when played reactive when the whole game rewards reactive playstyle. even with a pyro hybrid-tool like in , a caster is forced to space and prepare/setup the next move.

even if sorcery casting outputted good dmg, you still have the ashen estus problem. At this point hybrid-tools are supposed to solve this problem, specially when sorcery has 4 out of the existing 6.
3 of them have high requirements or that 12 faith requirement leaving you with heysel pick (a warpick with split dmg that can cast spells for a class that starts with 7str), so they are only good past mid-late game with another class.
Kinda like faith, the game tells you to pick a weapon buff until mid game, then, either you find an infusable/unbuffable weapon or pick a better weapon buff. only at end game can you be caster (spellsword like you said).

you can be aggressive mage with dart or flashsword (since they're one of the few spells with a running r1 moveset) and follow it with a sword spell or a projectile, but you still need to stop to regen stamina or chugg ashen estus.

On PC, most people just drop themselves their items. Or just ask on reddit/pumparum for them.

Standing away and casting spells is not exciting boss gameplay, so DS3 does everything it can to discourage it by making it too slow and weak.

Casting sucking in pvp is just a side effect of that, not an intentional nerf.

he was hyped up a lot and most people didn't play DeS, so he was the first "Badass dude with a sword" boss they ever fought.

The easiest way to explain spellcasting in DaS3 is to treat it like Bloodtinge or Arcane in BB. They exist, but shouldn't be substitutes for melee.

As someone who legitimately beat this fucker as a pure mage, I think it's more appropriate to tell those who say that magic is easy mode to go fuck themselves. I feel that Midir was Miyazaki's belated apology, holy shit it felt so good wiping the floor with him.

Really liking Vordt's Dunk Hammer so far, the hyper armor from the 2h strong attack is pure bliss. I'm planning on leveling STR till 66, but I'm not really sure if I should invest in faith for some good buffs. Any tips?

The pyromancy I'm currently using is Profuse Sweat.

With those stats you're better off with a Crystal Claymore.
Don't use Blindfold mask, you get very low return and -30% dark absorption in this meta is absolutely stupid.
He's using dark sorceries so 45 int with murky longstaff is softcap.

I didn't have too much trouble with him as a sorc, probably because I was fastrolling and could for once dodge his melee attacks. Just do it like any other character, wait for an opening like his grab or fire breath, and nuke him with soul spears

I usually don't give them titles because my other characters don't have them, and some having them and others not having them would trigger my autism so hard. I name my chars after characters from the Song of Roland, they sound nice and at least I hardly ever see anyone else use them

I can't confirm if it's intentional or not, but alot of spells and weapons got tweaked since launch. they are at least aware at some degree.
Since they implemented a "new" attunement system, it is expected that they adapted the game around it or the system to it
even forgetting casting for a minute split dmg is still a problem that affects half of the offensive stats in both PvE and PvP
