It's the consoles release of MLA, it has more voiced Takeru lines, improved effects, new insert songs, a few new scenes, a scene select option, and for the English release they re-did the parts where English is spoken using actual English natives.
Also of course a much improved translation.
What's "censored" is the nipples in any scene, all the suits and during the Sumika scenes. it's not really all ages since the Sumika scenes are still there, inclusing the sex scene with Takeru.

Muv-Luv has higher resolution but cropped CGs, the text box is now sub-like just like Alternative, Director's cut adds the sex scenes back in but mosaics weren't removed. Translation has a lot more localization but reads well, a couple typos here and there. Main menu is completely different and lets you choose Unlimited straight away. Uses the PS3 OP but the original one plays after the prologue.

Alternative uses the console version CGs for the most part but includes the original gore, no cropped CGs since it was originally 16:9. New main menu just like Muv-Luv. Translation is good but I noticed a couple editing errors, dunno if they fixed them before release. Sex CGs for Sumika don't show genitals, rest of the girls sex CGs were removed, body modification CGs too. Uses the PS3 OP but also plays the original one if you idle on the title screen.

There really is nothing wrong with it, pretty much everything that's not kickstarted does bad, and MG who doesn't use it has to make profit with lots of crappy nukige.

The worst part of that shit is that you're paying for something that still doesn't exist, can be delayed and the final product can be pretty different from what they announced at the beginning.

The only thing I see wrong with it is that you don't get to see the quality of the end product you're paying for.

In principle, it's not bad. The people pay for their VN, in return we get a translation and the TL companies don't lose money

In practice however, well, here's the thing, it's no different than pre-ordering a video game. You don't know the quality of the TL, you are left to the updates of the developer and any "rewards" that you may be pledging for can be taken away at any time. Plus, they technically don't actually have to update you or even work on the VN itself once they have your Kickstarter money. It's bad practice of course but if people keep giving money to it, why stop (This is SP's mantra)
