The date on the Switch has to be July 11th (Iwata's death), but it only works if the cached date is July 11th, meaning that it has to either never have been connected to the Internet and set to July 11th, or it genuinely has to be July 11th.

And then you have to do Iwata's hand gestures like he does in the Nintendo Direct's. It even says Direct in Japanese when it's activated.
