I haven't played any MH game since it stopped being on PSP. Portable 3rd was my last game iirc.
Had played most of them up to that, also the games on PS2.
Will I like MHW?
I saw the trailer and it got me maximum hyped.
Can anyone point to some good youtube channels I can watch some gameplay or where I can find what's new about MHW compared to the old games.

I'm worried about armor effects and how bland and tedious the tracking is.

it's adding new gameplay features without trying to go the route that X/XX went with the combat

aesthetically it's probably the most MH that MH has been since 2nd gen, it's an all business world where hunting monsters isnt just some anime shit that little girls tell you to go do, there are military applications involved and it's about keeping threats to human settlements at bay

most of the new stuff theyre adding is purely optional utlity and mobility related stuff, while tastefully expanding the movesets of weapons and adding mechanical depth to them - without being obscenely overpowered and flashy like x/XX hunter arts

armor seems to be going back to that more realistic utilitarian style from what i've seen, and in general it's doing the ecosystem food chain kind of shit that they simply couldnt express outside of cutscenes in older games

not really worried about anything desu, all the pros outweighs the cons so much that I don't really care.

It's much better than just wondering around randomly in the map until you run into the monster though.

What I'm worried about is not enough Monster variety first and foremost, and second the game having too many paid DLCs.

I don't think people ever had to randomly walk around to find monsters, you just ran to the area they were in, hopefully monsters spawn in the same area every time in this game so hunts don't have you running around a giant ass map looking for it for an hour.

It's okay, they'll make the DLC free in Worlds's Ultimate like they did with Dark Arisen

theyve only shown 3 main maps so it's safe to assume theyre not done. also it's not a 3DS game so you can rest assured it's not a challenge to add content over the next 2 years

Just the standard complains people have when a games becomes more opened ended, that and the fear of westernization.

The kecha has those big ears with the illusory eyes on the back and also an elephant trunk. The bat mainly comes from the mouse nose and slit-like flat-black eyes.

There seemed to be a bigger emphasis on story in the TGS trailer, I hope all this shit will be easily skippable/ignorable. I don't want to have to listen to voice acting for the whole game, and I sure as hell don't give a crap about any kind of story in a monster hunter game
