Star Citizen Information:

Surely CIG will deliver the game eventually, we should just wait.

It is the standing Recommendation of /scg/ that if your game package contains an Aurora MR, Aurora ES or Mustang Alpha you would be well served to upgrade it to an Aurora LN. It's only like ten bucks and provides a significant increase in firepower and survivability without any real downsides.
Be aware, this is the gateway drug to wasting your life savings on spaceship jpegs, keep your discipline and don't upgrade further unless you hate money and love waiting, frustration, feelings of betrayal and high blood preassure.

However these games are not the topic of this thread.

>"Big Aegis Multicrew ship that looks like a lengthened Sabre with a B-24s ballturret on it's ass".
I'm gonna assume that post is full of shit, becasue theres no way they'd let an office visit see the big surprise for citcon early, but it is not and if that's not a sneakily reworked Retaliator I'm gonna be platinum mad.

Why does Derek Smart hate space sims?

He said David Braben could not make Elite Dangerous. Why?

He said Chris Roberts could not make Star Citizen. Why?

My money is on reworked Retaliator, famalam

>a sneakily reworked Retaliator
If it is, then they'll probably also sneakily raise the price by a hundred dollars before the reveal.

Space is fun
No mans sky is fun
Hello games is fun

It would be nice if it became a real ship instead being npc escort mission tier, especially since the 600i was such a dud and the Aquila's "improved view" still has a million struts blocking your vision.

He's incompetent and everyone knows it so no one paid any attention or money to him or any of his projects at all. He was/is tremendously jealous of CR and Braben getting both attention and resources to create the same sort of thing he wanted, but was unable to create due to incompetence, he assume that because he couldn't do it, it wasn't possible since he has an inflated opinion of himself and his ego was too large to allow him to admit that and seek to join either project to both be involved in success and also learn how to actually make games. So, he's turbo butthurt about people giving CR money and doesn't have anything better to offer(he thinks he does and offers it, See Line of Defense, its shit and everyone mocks it, even more so than SC memery) when his first attempts(backing and then talking about his "games") at skimming attention from SC fails he starts loudly shitposting about how SC is gonna fails and Roberts is a hack and its a scam,"people" pay attention to him for once in the form of the goons, they egg him on because they love mayhem, this is more attention that he has ever gotten for anything and attention to those who crave it is an addictive aphrodisiac, he's hooked and needs more. He shitposts harder and harder, becomes utterly obsessed, to the point of real life stalking and getting restraining orders filed. At some point maybe even before all this begins he develops an obsession with Sandi "Spooky Skellingtion" Gardiner.

He hates them because he can't even begin to compete with them and that fact threatens his image of himself as a great game developer and he either has to accept the damage or see SC and E:D destroyed, because If they fail he can think his rectal splatter is better for having 8 players on steam all of whom are actually devs.

>Why derek is a loser and should be laughed at then shunned: The post

Bravo

>why user is a tech illiterate, and probably over 40

I refer you to this helpful chart

I'm 19 grandpa

my jew score 136 actually :^)

In other news, mass downvoting to hide comments is apparently not good enough, plebbit wants its mass downvotes to literally silence users.

reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/714lot/this_subreddit_was_better_when_negative_scores/?st=j7sghcjw&sh=8cb96473

I am going to murder everyone I suspect of being a reddit user in the eventual game.

It "tech-illiterate" the new insult buzzword? I always liked faggot, its simple, unassuming, and doesn't make everyone think you're wearing a fedora while phoneposting from your iPhone in a fedora store.

Faggot.

it's not a buzzword, it's an accurate description of your average cultist, to whom game development is pure magic. they cannot distinguish between CIG marketing bullshit and knowledgable experts like derek. so they just see "criticism" vs "their idol" and conclude that derek must be wrong even though they didn't understand a single word and just regurgitate technical terms they heard actual devs throw around on atv or bug smashers or whatever.

CIG have become honorary kikes with their marketing shit, However.
>knowledgable expert
your are trolling.

>pay lip service to "marketing shit"
>blanket reject criticism from any source

your words and your actions are not the same.

> knowledgable experts like derek

Explain how anyone who creates this flight model is a "knowledgable expert" or gtfo, goony

youtube.com/watch?v=Tx1kMbC8ZxE

"knowledgable expert" fuckin lol

>muh goons
this indicates a cultists confusion and lack of understanding

>its okay when SC is janky as fuck in pre-alpha but line of defense must be perfect from day 1

>line of defense must be perfect from day 1

Lol goony, it's been like that for 6 years, try again

>it's been like that for 6 years
star citizen or lod?

>retaliator rework
>it was purely visual and turret placement tier
>retaliator owner status= still cucked.\

Seriously it needs a buff. It takes all 6 torps to completely destroy a starfarer. God forbd you should be needing to shoot at anything bigger. If you do, your options are swarm tallies, or just go with the presumably cheaper and overall more effective option like bring a polaris or idris.

Also I feel the tally should be given 3 roles it could fulfil depending on how i is set up. Either as the bomber it is now, but again withbuffed torps, buffing them in both effectiveness per torp and in amount carried. Then one should also be able to rip the torps out and turn it into a local fighter superiority ship by being to just load up on an obscene amount of smaller missiles, but as a result losing its ability to really threaten larger ships. And thirdly just rip all the missile launchers/racks out and stuff the bays full of your illegal porn shipment.

2.4 is coming out September 26th 2017

the favorite thing to me about Quince is not the credits earned, but being around actual people. Elite Dangerous feels like a single player game 99% of the time so it's nice to see it.

that's one thing I wish they'd try to promote, the congregation of actual people.

@everyone the suprise reworked ship is obviously the Redeemer

Too many uncoordinated dads and manchildren attacking traders so it'll never happen out CG, POI's and FOTM systems.

This wouldn't be an issue if traders just convoy'd up with escorts and travel in big safe groups but noooooo fuck having a wing larger than 4 fuck you FDev. Fuck having pirates coordinate attacks on said large groups and allowing emergent gameplay.

To make that a reality they need to do the following and probably more

1. Only Open

2. Better instances/ Network reliability

3. Increase commodities market trading by 200+ percent. Maybe all the time or when there's wanted CMDR's in a certain radius of the system. 20-10? System wide. I refuse to believe updating a commodities board based on that information is hard to code.

4. increase the wing trade bonuses you get from your wingmates selling commodities exc. by at least 1000% for the "protectors" of the convoy.. So a 1 million profit trade run would give the protector a ~250k reward. Easiest way to prevent this new feature from being abused is only give it to a specific list of combat oriented ships and the CMDR must not have cargo on him besides limpets. So it can't be like a Anaconda trading double dipping.

5. Combat logging doesn't actually do anything. i.e. look at raging quitting in World of Tanks. Your vehicle just stays in game and people can farm you.

6. Wings 16+ limit

7. Galnet generated maps displaying a top 10 or 50 system table of highest CMDR trader/ CMDR pirating taking place. Or something similar to that. We've seen they can track this, look at the recent CG's. Just so you as a pirate/ trader don't have to wonder around looking for where the action is.

9. Actually tell every single player multiple times that you can do this and explain how to do it. Set up a matchmaking for Wings/ Trading maybe. Limit the matchmaker to 25-50ly So you don't have to travel to far to wing up. Or maybe Chat will actually become used and something like that won't be needed. I highly doubt the latter though.

Probably needs revising but it's a start.

It's funny because what I've just listed besides # 1 & 2 should be relatively easy to implement. It's just priorities are not set on making trade convoys a thing atm.

I suspect the most viable tactic for retailators will end up being escort-less, solo piloted Kamikaze runs that fly in with full power to shields, and try to live long enough to spam all their torpedoes, then let the ship get destroyed, because as long as you have the torp version instead of the base model, it will be cheaper to get the whole ship replaced than restock and repair it.

>tfw can't decide what ship to buy next

I want it all!

Currently I have:
>imperial eagle
>cobra
>dbx
>100m

I should have never gone to Quince... I was at 10m before and gearing up to buy a vulture... now my options have tripled and it seems kind of silly to just not go for something beefier.

Dump the Cobra and start outfitting a Python, or keep grinding for conda

don't listen to this nigger
stick with vulture or some low tier fed ship and a rate it. You'll burn yourself about if you grind to an Anaconda with Quine. And you'll have no idea how to use it.

Between the shitpost dadposting and unironic dadposting, this thread isn't that fun anymore.

Just like Elite.

Member when people made content and the memes hadn't been posted literally hundreds of times?
I member.

If you want something beefier than a vulture that doesn't handle like a lead bathtub full of even more lead then get the sexual assault ship.

...

So what'd Chris say that pissed off the casuals who hate survival/needs mechanics?

I suppose that would make some sense actually, given how they suddenly cared about it again recently. Would line right up with the kikery, "we're about to raise this things price, take it out of the store so people wont howl as much when we tack a hundred bucks on."

talked about a need to drink, maintain O2, eat, feed npcs and shower.

'Threadly' reminder that Star Citizen will have it's commercial release before Half-life 3 is announced.

>tfw no cutterwaifu

>it'll be worth the weight
XD

God damn..! if there's even a speck of truth in that, it'll be the gayme of the century.

ben always makes me want to excersize
I can't quite put my finger on it.

Realism is a refreshing addition to the genre

In game food can only be purchased with real money

Incorrect.
In-game food will be purchased with UEC, you will need about 10,000 UEC per crewman per day. UEC real money purchase will be restricted to 150,000UEC per week.
But don't forget each of your npc crewmen is an account (unless you hired them in-game) so you'll have plenty of avenues to buy UEC and food for them.

>10,000 A DAY
these mother fuckers eating caviar 3 square meals a day?

Water 3L
>3000 UEC
Grain Biscuits x 30
>3000 UEC
Teaspoon of Caviar
>3000 UEC
Strawberry x 1
>1000 UEC

Everything the body needs.

Follow Brandy's example and commit suicide

I just wanted a pretty space sim... As far as I'm concerned my character is a fucking robot that doesn't need food, sleep or to shit.

Just noticed that /plebbit/starcitizen is in meltdown. What's going on lads? Roberto run off with the money yet?

Nothing as far as I know, maybe theyre just now realizing what we all realized like 6 months ago and its popping their little bubbles.

Welcome to being human :)

It's possible food and air will only be an area buff that need to be renewed by having food in your ship
wacky gamey mechanic you know, food animation being idle mode
I wish, else we'll also have to manage working hours for our crew of NPC

I'm entering cryosleep tommorow, how long should I tell them to put me in for so when I wake up star citizen is released?

If you go into the cryoengine, you will never be released.

*seasons chess board*

is eating really the right way to go about creating full size planets?

ha ha hilarious and original

2025 to be safe

i wish there was actually crystasis testing being done at the moment i'm pretty close to the point of signing waivers and submitting my body for human testing to the next coolest shit i see

he right tho

most sensible people saw it after they missed the second release date

>In other news, mass downvoting to hide comments is apparently not good enough, plebbit wants its mass downvotes to literally silence users.

Video games didn't use to be like this

I know.

6 months ago, march, was when it was starting to be clear that 3.0 was not close, CIG lied about it and something was wrong in terms of dev.

and when they were still teasing an alpha in 2016 it became clear that the game itself was not close even though they said that would be the "commercial release"

There's nothing to talk about until new patch comes out. Please disregard this thread.

so
how to have fun in elite?
been there, done that triple elite
i dunno how or why i was playing it, because i stopped having fun around 100ths hour

elaborate nigger

>have 100 hours of fun
>why isn't it fun anymore
>abloobloo

had much more fun with x'es, yeah
and that was not exactly fun, it was more like (fun?)

>I had much more fun with x'es

And why is that? I rather liked 2, for example.

that's what I want to avoid doing. just going straight to the anaconda seems a little unfun.. especially when I want to try out every ship eventually.

I wish I had played around more before even jumping from the sidewinder to Cobra. I bought the Imperial Eagle for funsies after the DBX.

this is probably what I'm going to do, I just wonder how long I'll be able to hold out on not buying something better. I also wanted to try the Imperial Courier and ASP.

yeah, the Federal Assault Ship caught my eye.
the Imperial Clipper is looking good too since I like multipurpose ships, but I don't think I'm ready for a large ship like that.

Convince me to/not launch and play Elite: Dangerous right this second.

The 2nd tier Fed ship or The Imperial Clipper are both great choices if you want a superpower ship.

thargoids the 26th

Is that a reason to play or not to play? Please clarify.

consider that while multiple X games were being released the genre was still considered to be dead

wait 6 days to play

Is Elite: Dangerous still boring as fuck? I had heard something about them implementing multicrew but it being yet another dead on arrival "feature".

Was wondering whether I should waste the disk space with reinstalling to try to find out whether it's still just 99% waiting around in supercruise?

thuggoids from the hood nebula

3300. You'll be able to play it on the center console of your Sidewinder Mk1 when it comes out.

>2nd tier Fed

which would be what? the assault ship?

>go to cryosleep
>set to wake up in the year 3300
>3300
>wake up
>everyone's dead from nuclear holocaust
>die within 5 days of waking up

mhm who would've thought

>for funsies
I've got a mostly stock Viper Mk4 I don't even take into supercruise just for the muscle car feels doing loops around an Orbis station.

>had much more fun with x'es

Me too, which seems kind of odd given how fucking garbage X's flight model is.

I guess I just like being a spacejew more than a big rig over the galaxy space trucker

And weapons that don't even have the range to clear the bow of some M1s

the 2nd unlockable fed ship

youtube.com/watch?v=SxOveWI8E0c

who even speaks like that? just say the ship name.

I'm not your maid kike. Google the fed ranks and look it up yourself

>have to shower your NPCs

lather up, boys

Might not be so bad....

that's where you're wrong, bitch. I own you.

so, am I shit for using flight assist?
I completely forgot it was even an option and I feel like a newborn fawn who isn't accustom to walking whenever I turn it off.

I end up just turning flight assist back on.

Then its FAS, yeah.

I think thats because Xes had some sort of progression, while Elite feels like sandbox with most of the toys requiring you to repeatedly hit yourself with a stick to be able to access them.

FA-Off is a meme. There are situations where it's useful and with some ships more than others depending on flight model. Proper use of FA-Off is to just toggle it when you actually need it. Always remember when you want to stop that your retro thrusters are actually stronger with FA On.
