Holy fuck I have been playing Mary Skelter and jesus fuck the nightmares in this game are fucking terrifying. Never before I felt such a feeling of dread and panic in a dungeon crawler as when the murder mode starts in Mary Skelter.

It's comparable to F.O.E. in Etrian Odyssey, except this time these motherfuckers are immortal and the chase in the dungeon is not step-based but is in real time.... and you don't have a fucking map so you have no idea where the Nightmare might be or where to go to escape.

I'm at the second one. The first time I encountered it I hadn't saved in ~40 minutes (yeah, big mistake) and I got trapped in a dead end. I saw the counter... 35m... 30m... 20m... 10m... I turned around and it was there in front of me and I had no way to escape. One hit killed two of my party members and I panicked. Managed to barely escape alive and ran the fuck back to town.

I just encountered the same shit again and again I barely escaped and ran back to town. I'm currently terrified to explore this floor now, this shit is spooky as fuck.

I hope later on it'll get more manageable because right now I keep getting rekt and I need to tp back to town and back all the time.

They're only scary if you actually try to run away from them. The correct tactic is to just let them come to you, break a part to stun them for a while, then move out of the shadow to despawn them. They barely do more damage than regular monsters, and breaking a part only takes like 3 good attacks from your party.

Not where I'm at, regular monsters deal 40-50 damage, this fucker deals 200-250 and my girls have between 200 and 300 hp...

The other things necessary to break the game:
- Immediately change Akazukin to the Blood class and never worry about mana ever again.
- Use the roulette to spawn the merchant. The stuff he sells is always better or at least equal to anything you can find in that dungeon.
- Dont waste rossources on equipment upgrades. The only stuff you should upgrade is items that increase your speed.
- If you really want to cheese itgo to the final dungeon as soon as the door is open (start of chapter 3?). There's an easily reachable chest with a strong weapon for Akazukin on the first level.

forgot one:
-play on the hardest difficulty. The fist two chapters will be hard, but you'll get a lot more XP (50%?), which actually makes 90% of the game easier in the long run. The enemy scaling only catches up with you in the final dungeon, and you can drop the difficulty then, if it gets too tedious.
