First for cant even play the fucking game.

the fucks wrong with her head

why the long face lmao

>there are people who didn't roll their game back to the pre-cc version

There are six other Fallout games you can play user.

Play with out F4SE mods.
F4SE is bad and any modder who uses it as a dependancy is also bad. I am boycotting these mods.

Six other games I beat the shit out of.

>2017
>using script extender
>laughing pete

Boy I wish I knew what the fuck happened to my game

I had been running F4SE out of habbit not realizing none of my mods actually need it. Huh. Guess I was used to needing the NV one.

>I am boycotting these mods

Would you put your weenie in a synth?
Would you let a synth put its weenie in you?

If you know which mods require f4se, you can just disable those and play. I only have like 4 mods installed that use it, and even of those one just deals with editing appearance, so it might be possible to do that.

You can also turn off steam's auto update, seen here, but that doesn't help if it already updated.

DEEP CHIN

>caitfag is an insufferable faggot edition

No cosplay bullying beyond this point.

Looks like you're just gonna have to do a clean save and redownload the game user

but user, that's every thread

>but the experiences and the understandings we talked about earlier are not exclusive to homo sapiens
And that has absolutely nothing to do with "spark of humanity". Other great apes behave a lot like us, just as we behave a lot like them, what's the "spark of humanity" on it? Would't "spark of great apehood" be a more accurate terminology? What if a dog behaves in a simular manner? Well, it's still a dog, and it's still behaving like a dog, because that's what its DNA is telling it to, not the "spark of humanity" you're talking about.

>and a few words people use are sentient, awakened, or higher animals
What does that even mean lmao? Are you talking about intelligence? Superior cognition? Because that's what it is, nothing "awakened" about it, this isn't the Force or Mama Murphy on jet.

>None of these are perfect descriptors
And that's why they're so ridiculously subjective it's painful.

>[...]other things imitate or borrow them wasn't relevant to the discussion until we further examined it.
Yeah, and now you're making no sense whatsoever. Just stop looking at mankind as some role model or standard of behaviour, we're nothing but a well-placed shitclog of chemicals much like everything else in the universe. There's nothing special about being human, nothing at all. Other animals could even perceive us as being inferior for the way we live and the destructive and unnatural lifestyle we carry.

Synths behave the way they do because they've been programmed to behave that way, much like how we have been programmed through a long process of selective breeding called natural selection to behave the way we do, much like a lion behaves the way it does, much a trapdoor spider behaves the way it does, and there is absolutely no "humanness" on it, it's all just "shitclog of chemicals-ness" from top to bottom.

first for HATE MO2
and redownloading 270 mods because I'm retarded

God damn that piper is bad haha

That would be the joke

This is an important mod
nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/11241/?

what is scrap anything

that only works for the ones close enough inside the build zone to work

you end up with a lot of them just outside and they look awful

A mod that does not accomplish the most important thing this mod does

Any good enb? Tried VOGUE but it's total garbage.

theres subtle enb

then this just came out

i bet she smells like shit and you orbit her on patreon

As I said, humanness as we mean it here is not actually imitating or being like homo sapiens, that's a limitation of language. There are certain things that sentient/higher animals/awakened beings share and those traits are what they are, and when we interpret them, we call them humaness. But that's humans calling it something, they're not actually traits exclusive to humans.

Mankind isn't a role model or any of the other things you said, we're just one of the things capable of perceiving these concepts, the ones we referred to as humanness earlier but won't from now on for language clarity. It's incorrect to think humans are the top and things imitate us. It's accurate to think humans have traits, and that the traits are what they are, separate from us, and that other things share these traits. When people philosophically examine these creatures, they see that they share experiences. When people just see the smiling cow, they think "wow it's so human! cute!". These are very different things. The conclusion the first party comes to is that higher understanding beings share traits. The second person just sees the cow doing something that humans do, or exhibiting a human trait.

Synths behaving the way they do is for similar reasons we act the way we do, that is true. But I don't think we ever disagreed on that detail, mostly the why I suppose.

>piper is not carrying a box of sugar bombs
that cait looks cute btw.

>want to play

what kind of strange mental disorder have i acquired?

RIP. Thought he was my nigga.

>Synths behave the way they do because they've been programmed to behave that way,
And by the way, synth sentience is even considered faulty behaviour by Institute standards, and they're absolutely right. Gen 3s were supposed to be, essentially, organic robots, and any synth that does not fall into the category of an "organic robot" is automatically categorized as faulty, and that makes perfect sense, because that's what it actually is. If I program a robot to behave in a very specific way, be it organic or mechanical, and it behaves differently than what I intended it to be like, it is, by all definitions, faulty, something that was not supposed to be. That's what sentient Gen 3s are.

When a Gen 3 develops sentience it is simply categorized as faulty behaviour that can be very easily fixed by reclaiming the synth and giving it new "memories", which is basically a reprogramming procedure.

The Institute, for that very reason, cannot be "evil". If Gen 3s were *not* sentient, but rather a bunch of immortal, human-shaped drones, as they're actually supposed to be, then what's the problem with that? They would be, quite literally, Institute property. A bunch of synthetic organic things, programmed just like robots but instead of a mechanical body they gave them a synthetic organic body.

What is the difference between that "functional" Gen 3 and a robot, besides one being organic and the other being inorganic?

The only reason you "feel" for them is because they resemble actual human beings, despite the fact that they're not, and that's exactly the reason why I support the idea that Gen 3s *are* Institute property where some of them accidently do express faulty behaviour, just like machines sometimes do, except without the whole sentience part. Gens 3s working for the Institute is no more "slavery" than a factory robot working non-stop at a production line.

>"What they wanted was the perfect machine. So they followed the best example thus far – the human being."

You guys are over-complicating this whole synth thing.

I don't really anything about them other than recoil.

I guess Anglers are close enough

No, not a mutant at all, because it already is a synthetic organism, otherwise the word 'synthetic' wouldn't exist. It is designed from ground up to emulate its natural variant, it isn't a mutation of its natural variant, it is an entirely unique synthetic creation that resembles its natural variant. Gen 3s and Super Mutants are different for the same reason the words 'synthetic' and 'mutant' and different.

A synthetic duck is a synthetic duck regardless of how similar it is to a natural duck. Synthetic diamonds are synthetic diamonds regardless of how similar they are to natural diamonds.

Buff, any idea why an item would refuse to equip? Can't use Slot 61

Horseshit. A synthetic plasmid injected into a bacterium to make them produce pig insulin is still a genuine bundle of DNA, however it was created.

They create Synths from a human genetic blueprint (Shaun) with modifications. Just because they "artificially" constitute the DNA from a soup of base pairs does not make the product any less a human being.

They are cloned, artificially mutated humans.

Uh....try another slot? Definitely sounds like an Arma / Armo issue. Look at how other items have their armas and armos set up.

With the caveat that they are, at least, a distinct subspecies due to said mutations.

What would the scientific name for synths be?

Homo Synthetica?
Homo Robo?

>that's a limitation of language
Well mate, if the English language doesn't have a word for it I honestly don't know how objective you're trying to be with this conversation tbqhwy.

>There are certain things that sentient/higher animals/awakened beings
lol

>But that's humans calling it something, they're not actually traits exclusive to humans.
That's often referred to as the uncanny. Nothing "the Force awakened" about it, it's just the nature of human perception behaving as it's supposed to.

>When people philosophically examine these creatures, they see that they share experiences
Maybe cause we share the same planet and are often exposed to similar environment conditions? For the same reason we care more about dogs than we do about fish because dogs are closer to us than fish are despite both being living, thriving creatures?

What about plants? Aren't they living beings? Why eat them then? Why would you care more about your dog than you would a vegetable if both are living, thriving creatures? Oh, that's because your human perception is telling you a plant is too genetically distant from you, therefore it can be eaten, while dogs behave in a rather "sparkly" way and are also mammals, and therefore cannot be eaten.

>higher understanding beings share traits
Higher cognition just means higher cognition. The way they differ in behaviour will be dictated by hormones and experience, how their neurometabolism has been programmed genetically paired with their life experience. Some people are intrinsically more violent, others are passive, some become violent, others become passive, but they'll never overcome what they've been genetically programmed be like, and that's the chassis of your brain, much like height and eye colour.

>Synths behaving the way they do is for similar reasons we act the way we do
Eh sort of. Sentience on Gen 3s is more like a bug though.

H. synthetica if we consider them a totally distinct species. H. sapiens synthetica if we consider them a subspecies.

>Eh sort of. Sentience on Gen 3s is more like a bug though.

From the Institute's perspective, sure, but really it is just a function of them using an organism that has sentience "built in" as the basis of the Synth. It's just trending back towards normal baseline functionality.

>mfw the fans are better at lore than the devs

Haha you said homo haha

Thank you /fog/ for reminding me that my autism lies on the milder end of the spectrum.

Imagine if fallout 4 was made by people that sit and argue on Veeky Forums all day. I'm sure it would be the best game of all time!

>Imagine if fallout 4 was made by people that sit and argue on Veeky Forums all day.
That's already more effort than Emil put in.

>struggling for over an hour to get a platform rebuilt just right
>still cant do it

creation club did this. By forcing me to restart it is responsible

>There would be an angry NPC sitting in a corner muttering to himself about buffscale and trainwiz

>A synthetic plasmid injected into a bacterium to make them produce pig insulin is still a genuine bundle of DNA, however it was created.
Yes, a genuine bundle of synthetic DNA. Otherwise, why don't you go break the news to a jewelsmith so he can start using synthetic precious metals and still sell them for the same price of their natural variants, thus plummeting the value of diamonds and gold and eventually breaking the economy of the entire fucking planet. I mean, it's still a genuine bundle of gold and diamonds, however it was created, right?

>but really it is just a function of them
It really isn't because it shouldn't be there. They built something, shit hit the fan and now they must fix it, assuming their moral compass get in their way which apparently don't and that alone kinda explains why they've been so ridiculously successful compared to every other faction in the Fallout universe ever.

Build. Oops sentience. Reclaim. Profit. Too much science, too little fucks to give.

>on one hand namefags are insufferable and obnoxious
>on the other hand without them there wouldnt be anything left to discuss

If caitfag had his way every character would be weak as hell with a shitty sob story too.

They're not competent though. This whole thing would have been avoided if they built an actual, genuine robot, like the Gen 2s. However, they decided that creating mutant clones was the way to go and they're dealing with the repercussions of that, which is that (crazily) enslaving sentient creatures doesn't generally work out well. Even if you create them first.

The fact that they're cloned, modified humans just makes the issue worse because they can look at other humans and compare themselves to them and work out that something about how they're treated is wrong.

All this argument is doing is reminding me of how fucking much I hate what Bethesda did with the Institute. They're the laziest of "haha evil scientists lmao" stereotypes packed into a nonsensical, logically inconsistent plot.

And yeah, no shit, there is very little difference between a synthetic diamond (since they just replicate the exact process that creates a real one) and a "genuine" diamond. The only difference is a label used to justify a drastic markup in price, which is artificial anyway because Diamond is far more common than the industry would lead you to believe, they just slow release of it onto the market to keep demand outstripping supply and therefore keep the price up.

Hell, the definition of a synthetic diamond is a "genuine diamond made in a lab" - because chemically, structurally etc it is just a fucking diamond

Definition of a synthetic human is therefore - "a genuine human made in a lab". With again, F4 adding the wrinkle that they're instead FEV mutants made in a lab.

what? Cait's strengths are why I'm attracted to her. Her character defies her upbringing, and it's miraculous. I like Ingram's strength of character to continue her work after an accident. Lots of people are people I like for strengths. I don't know where you got this impression from user.

Being a star wars fan, I went through that too.

>deacon had a hard life and the ss makes him feel inferior ;_;

Any point in not going 10 int in FNV or would I just ruin fun if I didnt?

>The only difference is a label used to justify a drastic markup in price, which is artificial anyway because Diamond is far more common than the industry would lead you to believe
Yeah I mean why would they invest so many resources into not only mining it but actually developing the technology to manufacture diamonds, thus DRASTICALLY improving the lives of millions of people because diamonds aren't just for jewelry, I mean what's competition anyway, no such thing. Demand and supply? Pfff what a joke. x'd

>they just slow release of it onto the market to keep demand outstripping supply and therefore keep the price up.
Yes, because that's exactly how the free market operates, and those in possession of abundant supply would never sell for cheaper than their competition because... oh wait.

>I went through that too
yeah, same

would be nice if we got a new SW related game more than every other year and it be good

10 INT is a little OP, you'll level up faster

its not as bad as in 3 but still

Take gifted to balance it out a bit, but then again you can always take the perk that adds 10% xp gain to counter the 10% xp loss from it

Who knows. All that personal stuff might have just been more lies.

But since it doesn't really matter if I believe him or not, I'm already here doing railroad stuff for other reasons and I'm already friends with him for other reasons, I might as well believe him. Lying doesn't get him anything. And his story was compelling, lie or no.

>1313 cancelled
>a normal person shooter in the depths of one of the coolest planets instead of loljedi flipping around using magic
the new battlefront looks fun but I want a story based game eventually.

I didn't even mention lies lol

>he doesnt know about the diamond monopoly
you went and blew it, nobody can take anything you say seriously now

>Playing with Darker Nights and Visible Galaxy in survival while listening to readings of Lovecraft stories

Deacon's sob story? yeah there's a solid chance it's all lies.
But for me I choose to believe it anyway, since I would feel bad if it's true, and he doesn't stand to gain from me being duped if it's false.

Same with Piper's. Don't have reason to disbelieve her.

Why don't you go mine them yourself and sell for cheaper then, if diamonds are so abundant. Even better, create your own garage synth diamond production, just make sure they don't come out sentient. It's literally handbook technology that any average joe can achieve, but unfortunately the New World Order of Obama Bin Shekelbergsteinowitz Soros forbids the average joe from actually doing it, thus keeping the prices of diamonds up high, even if selling them according to supply and demand directly benefits them greatly both in the short and long run.

>actually getting spooked by hilarious hamfisted trash like dunwich
Is this a meme?

This is some next level shitposting.

>lolbertarian predictably ignores land ownership when it suits their ridiculous free market fantasies

Abundant doesn't mean uniformly distributed. Most of the diamond rich land was bought up by a single company, who proceeded to create artificial scarcity. They used this wealth to buy any newly discovered diamond mines going forward. Diamonds are much more common than many less expensive gemstones because such monopolies do not exist on them.

>De Beers plead guilty for fixing prices for artificially inflating prices of diamonds in 1947
>again fined in court for artifically inflating prices of industrial diamonds in 1994
>and again in 2004
>and again is in court for price fixing since 2016
>(((a mere coincidence)))

Yeah, because no man had to risk and invest all their hard-earned money into mining tech to actually get that, viciously competing with each other, so why the hell would they put ridiculously high price tags on diamonds? Damn capitalist pigs, lemme tell ya.

>Most of the diamond rich land was bought up by a single company, who proceeded to create artificial scarcity.
Oh that evil IQ 160+ capitalist pig buying and hoarding everything for himself. And that's why we need a giant controlling state to even shit up and uniformly distribute that illegitimately earned wealth.

>They used this wealth to buy any newly discovered diamond mines going forward.
Nobody is forcing them to sell it. If people are selling their shit it's because they believe it's their most reasonable choice.

>Diamonds are much more common than many less expensive gemstones because such monopolies do not exist on them.
Why not? Why can't they just buy the entire fucking planet Earth and carve a giant price tag on the fucking Moon for it, for every human being to see it.

OY VEY! And that's why we need communism. Them capitalist pigs deciding what they do with their own money and property?? Unacceptable.

...

...

oh god now im having flashbacks of that cake fucking guy who liked to run around NJ as Goofy with 2 other people just like him

>got argument completely destroyed
>change to an entirely new argument instantly

amazing

>obliterates his communist utopia dismantling every argument he put into discussion
>replies with the most niggerish "I win lmao xd" non-argument he could come up with

Like clockwork.

>raiders take advantage of intact pre-war buildings and fortify them
>everyone else prefers to live in rickety little shitshacks surrounded by garbage
Can i side with the boston raiders? They seem to be the ones who actually figured out this post-war livin'

...

pre-war buildings, aside from the super durable and large structures like the stadium that DC is in, are all super structurally unstable and in dense urban areas that are filled with every sort of nasty that the commonwealth has to offer and provide fuckall defenses.

There's a reason why fucking raiders and super mutants are in them.

...

I'll go for the second round cause unlike you I have both the knowledge and the autistic skills to push this shit even further.

>be exceptionally gifted capitalist pig
>use the power of your capitalist suine brain to study the marketplace
>predict an increase in the value of diamonds for the next decades
>invest every illegitimately earned penny you made throughout your life by standing still doing absolutely nothing other than delayed gratification and stressing your brains out on mining machinery as well as investing on mining technology
>hoard most of it, selling only what's absolutely necessary to keep the business running and improving so your competition doesn't bite you in the arse
>finally make enough money to buy the competition - something they were definitely forced into doing, because ya know, capitalist pigs
>hold a monopoly on diamonds and raise the price just high enough to the point where people actually buy it - obviously being forced to buy it, because ya know, capitalist pigs

>be exceptionally gifted engineer bourgeoisie pig
>discover a ground-breaking technology that relies on diamonds to operate
>predict a MASSIVE increase in the value of diamonds that far surpasses its current value
>buy as many diamonds from the capitalist pig as you could possibly afford
>finally develop ground-breaking technology of diamond laser cutting
>hold a monopoly on diamond laser cutting and raise the price just high enough to the point where people actually buy your product and use it to create their own ground-breaking technologies

>progress suddenly happens and the cycle continues until socialism kicks in
>therefore we need more state to demonize the free market in favour of more state control, where so-called "right-wingers" will unironically defend it because (((OY VEY)))

People selling their property for the price they deem reasonable? UNACCEPTABLE.
People buying property for the price they deem reasonable? GULAG TIER SHIT NIGGA.

How can I find someone's Nexus account through the images section? It shows their username but you can't actually click it and I don't think there's a username search function.

I don't know what you're doing wrong but I can click it just fine.

Yes you can.

>I don't think there's a username search function
