75-80 is a good, probably preferable level, to start the DLC. It was pretty much designed for it.

How do you dodge Cleric Beast's slow tackle attack? What is the timing for the dodge? That's the only attack of his I can't dodge.

The R2 attack on the Moonlight Greatsword is fucking amazing in its stun potential. You don't even need to charge it up. You can just "poke" certain enemies to death. And it surprisingly eats up very little stamina for such a powerful move.

yes, the untricked R2 poke is the best PVE move in the entire game. It stun locks anything that's not a literal giant

because beast blood pellets almost nullify your defenses and make you take way more damage. With every little hit you almost take as much damage as if you got counter-hit. You might as well not even wear any armor / clothes at all except maybe your pants. Also they are short lasting, cost insight, and you have to constantly deal damage to make them work.

Papers / empty phantasm shell are only really good for fast weapons because they just add +80 flat elemental damage to each attack.

They are all great and super effective but it's a pain to have to worry about consumable management every fight and I'd really prefer not to have to rely on them

at first I wanted to create a new skill character to try some weapons I didnt play yet on my first play through, but then I saw a video of the moonlight sword and found it really cool.

I dont really want to level a character for just one single weapon tho...

Wheel, Boomhammer and Tonitrus are also str/ arc. 50 arc with base stats will let you use any convertable weapon.

You should check the chalice pastebin in the OP for some, but I like to use ksgqnycq - pretty easy runs to the levers and decent bosses (watchers, BPS)

Tonitrus is good with even with low str. Boomhammer is bad with low str. Tricked Wheel is alright with 20 or 25 str and 50 arc.
HMLS will have bad meele attacks with low str and skl (both untricked and tricked), the beams benefit heavily from arc. One would think that the whole tricked moveset benefits well from arc but the tricked meele attacks aren't good with base skl and str.
Most people ho 20 or 25 str (depending on how much vit and end you're fine with).

I've lit the chapel on fire every single run and never had him hostile. I've even heard the soul get noise from baddies dying on the map somewhere and been fine. I believe he actually has to witness you attacking an enemy in front of his tower to become hostile, there's a dialogue that triggers when it happens.
