EMD2 releases in Japan August 31

Previous Thread:

Are Necromancers undead? Is Lily a zombie?

Now I feel like replaying EOIV, It was my first real attempt at an EO, because I quit EO3 at the third stratum.
What's a fun party that isn't linkshark?
At the time, I went with the extremely safe (but boring) L/F/D M/R.

They are lewd

5 nightseeker

Source?

Double Nightseeker, sure.
Would making both of them I/N later on be a good idea?

Artist is Minami Star aka the only guy that consistently draws EO porn

Double imperial is fun
Or go full meme and run B/L I/B B/D A/M A/N

You could. Or you could make one I/N and the other N/I.
Nightseeker skills can be used with a Drive Blade because they are Sowrd/Dagger skills and Drive Blades can be used for sword skills.

How does Necromancer manage to keep that chain always perfectly covering her nipples?

PG magic.

Really dumb EOIII question

You can't change portraits after creating a carácter right?

I love EO3 the best of all

but god damn multiclass was a mistake, 5's system is way better

Nope, you can't.

They improved it massively in EOIV but still messed up here and there.
And then Grimoires happened...

EOV's system looks good - it makes your characters more pure again but prevents you from just doing the same thing from level 1 until you beat the final boss (for most classes).

I see

I must choose wisely then

Five dodge fencers

It cuts down on armor cost, at least.
Can use the savings on Nectars.

With chasers it would do hilarious amounts of damage, until someone gets hit

5's seems great to me so far, i bet theres individual balance concerns like specific seocnd names being relatively useless or whatever but its much better

it even lets you run 2 of the same thing much more cleanly if you want

3 fencer 2 rover

>spend ingame years farming cabbages
Ebin party

They're all naked, right?

But of course

That is the point of the whole specialisation!

4 dodge fencers and a potato healer to keep them alive

>keep them alive
I think you mean "revive them once they eat dirt"

You can retire to change portrait

A Healer won't help a dodge Fencer. They either dodge or die.

And remember to make all of the fencers look like nene so you'll look forward to them eating dirt multiple times per session

Healer botanists have an autorevive passive, lingering scent on revive herbs and can cure leg binds

>Paying 900 en for 3 nectars or an armor that makes enemies do no damage to Dragoon

But there is no Dragoon in that party...

That is why everyone is dying, at least get a revival herbalist

But who will save the poor potato itself?

No one, that's why you have to go full dodge for it to be worth it.

So, 4 using chases and one using Sword Dance/Divine Gust?

Are rovers good?
Falcon or dogger?

>Are rovers good?
Yeah they're okay but their portraits are shit

Since the back line deals less damage anyways one can try to blind the enemy while the other fishes for area damage with Lure, to cause the front line to attack again.

Granny is awesome.

Fencers are never worth it unless you want to do ebin videos of whole team being oneshot because dodge failed

...

They are your best bet for ranged physical damage.

Hawk is the damage pet and dog is the support pet.
They have their own AI - hawk attacks a random enemy with cut damage and a low chance to heal bind, dog heals the character that had the lowest HP at the start of the turn for 15% max HP + 5.

>he doesn't like sexy dogs or tummy bunny
What a fag

What is the best WUN PAWNCH party to play through the main game?
While a party of Harbinger / Pugilist / Masurao // Shaman / Rover sounds like it'd have among the best damage available, it doesn't give me a way to mitigate damage and avoid becoming dead.

I'm thinking of running "dodge" Fencer for Mist Wall alongside the Shaman to mitigate elemental damage, since that will have me covered against anything that doesn't do untyped elemental damage (which I'm expecting to be pretty rare).

For people that have played through EOV, how crippling is it to not have a basic revive skill in your parties skill set?

If you play the demo you can just grind up Skunk Cabbages without getting overleveled for all your Nectar needs.

There's always the Earthlain racial skill.
Sure it can only be used in battle, but it's better than nothing.

You need gun revenge on the dragoon using buster shot, right?

In EOV demo, how do you go from the city right to the floors 2 and 3? When I exit the town they're greyed out

Draw proper maps and report them to Ramus.
1st floor map unlocks jump to the second floor, second floor to third floor.

>and report them to Ramus
oh shit I forgot about that
Thanks user

Yes.

What are the best bushi skills outside of shockwave and what level should they be?

Bushi is at its strongest as a subclass, but if you're running Bushi as a main class for some strange reason you'll be maxing all of your passives, leaving Blood Surge at Lv 1 (Or Lv 2 if you have the TP to spare), and levelling toward Multi-Slash. Truthfully, Multi-Slash is difficult to use well, so you may wish to use Flash Slice, Ice Slash or Fire Strike instead.

>implying that would happen

Earthlain-Dragoon(Cannon) Brouni-Dragoon(Shield)

Therian-Rover(Falcon) Celestrian-SmokeBotanist Brouni-HealerBotanist

Will this be decent? I think I may not do too much damage-wise, would it be better to have a Brouni-Shaman instead of HealerBotanist? Are their damage buffs and healing gimmick good enough?
The Dragoon cannon won't clash too much with the rovert as long I keep like 2 bunkers and the falcon right?

Would it be better to go this way instead?

Earthlain-Dragoon(Shield) Therian-4kat
Therian-Rover(Falcon) Celestrian-SmokeBotanist Brouni-HealerBotanist

>Earthlain-Dragoon(Cannon) Brouni-Dragoon(Shield)
>Therian-Rover(Falcon) Celestrian-SmokeBotanist Brouni-HealerBotanist
I would change the second botanist for a shaman. You are off to a rough start, since you would be relying mostly on your rover for damage until you unlock second names.
>Earthlain-Dragoon(Shield) Therian-4kat
>Therian-Rover(Falcon) Celestrian-SmokeBotanist Brouni-HealerBotanist
Again change the botanist for a shaman and make the dragoon a Brownie. I'd g for this one merely for the fact that it won't make you want to kill yourself in the first two strata

One Botanist is enough, really.
There are only so many HP to heal between full an dead and even the passive Overheal from Healer Botanist doesn't change that.

Your first party with a Shaman would be ok but I'm not sure why you are running two Dragoons.

Your first set up is really, REALLY stable. Probably too stable. You're lacking powerful damage steroids and your AoE is weak, but you've got virtually every defensive base covered.

Your second set up lacks a good way to trigger Hell Slash chases, consider swapping to a Pugilist.

I'll go with the first one but with the Shaman and in case I'll remove a Dragoon for a Pugilist then.

Harbinger / Pugilist / Masurao
Shaman / Rover

>Pros
+105% damage taken debuff
+75% physical damage buff
x2.0 physical damage buff
Extremely high sustained single target damage
Two different off-healers
Two different crisis skills
Passable damage mitigation

>Cons
Set up heavy
Buff slots are contested
No standard revive
No out of combat healing
No strong way to mitigate incoming physical damage
Lack of strong AoE
Lack of strong Elemental damage

/eog/, how do I unfuck this team comp?

>I want to touch
>What a cute girl. Pleased to meet you

I think Smoke Botanist addresses most of those Cons? If you count AoE Poison as good damage.

Tummy bunny is trash.

The enemy would die before it could do anything according to the math.

Swap Shaman for Smoke Botanist?

>No out of combat healing
Dog heal can be used out of battle

By the sound of it your Rover was supposed to be a pupper, so that makes sense.

you have 60 extra slots for healing items in V, out of battle heal is a meme

Enjoy having to constantly get back to town because your inventory is full and spending all your money on medicas

How do you even run out of food?

By not spending hours going to every food gathering spot on every floor

I only use them when I forget to bring ariadne, and I'm at the fifth floor.
With food you always have a backup plan.

By using it.
The Labyrinth Wheat point on the second floor only gave me 1-3 per day.

I just wanted to make Eggs-in-the-Basket so Ramus loves me!

Warlocks seems kinda shit in the demo, do they get better?

YOU need to get better.

They get pretty fucking powerful in all damage types.
Or overkill on 3 types, if you're vanilla.

Their damage roids are all in their second name. Clever Strike sounds stupid but its one of the most cost efficient good damage skill in the game

buy and forge a staff to +5

They get better when you find out what the enemy weakness is

What weapon type should I be equipping to my Botanist / Shaman?

They are garbage in the demo. is right, half of their power is locked behind their second name. They cost a lot of skill points to be effective, whereas Masuraos and Fencers are good out of the box.

But they aren't garbage? Or are you one of those people that call any class that isn't on the top 3 "garbage"?

They're just not great at the start of the game because they're locked out of the good skills. For example in EO3 Zodiacs are fantastic at the start of the game because you can get ether charge almost right away. Warlocks have compression but its pretty meh since you don't even have enough points to get it to max

No, they are objectively garbage. They can't deal any damage without consuming TP, they don't have any reliable TP management, their single target damage is less than a Rover, Masurao, Fencer, Necromancer's Poison or Pugilist, and barely better than a Harbinger most of the time.

They're decent at clearing trash mobs because many of them have low health and big elemental weaknesses, but it's not noticeably better than any other class.

Warlocks become good after unlock their second name, picking up their relevant chant skills, and dropping a shit tonne of skill points into their elemental skills. They're late bloomers in a Demo that caps at level 10.

For the demo the bow made from the rare chop material is nice for Botanist since it gives them Aegis Prayer.
The sword made of the bat's conditional drop or the staff made of the Owl Beast's normal drop are nice to give them an attack skill.

Since healing/supporting doesn't take ATK or MAT into account you should go for weapons with good skills so they can contribute to the damage.

>No out of combat healing

You shouldn't worry about that too much as you can heal both HP and TP easily with food, which you get tons.

>b-but muh speed.jpg

They have INT damage that doesn't cost an arm and a leg unlike Necromancer or Shaman (if you even want to rush Dance Oracle).
It's already useful against acorns and turtles and to speed up pigs and dogs.
And Lightning is one of the best like clearing skills currently available.

They don't have meme spikes like Masurao or Therian Pugilist at level 10 but they are far from garbage.

(You)

Playing around with different setups, so far dodge fencer feels like a better tank than dragoon? Doesn't need to deal with ailments since they dodge and aggro up has a actual speed modifier

But it's kinda boring, does either class get better once they get their name?

>They're decent at clearing trash mobs because many of them have low health and big elemental weaknesses, but it's not noticeably better than any other class.
Exactly. They're decent. Not garbage. They pull their weight even if they aren't on the top 3. They're a far shout from wildling or EO2 beast.

What do they need TP management skills for when their skills are so cheap and their TP pool so large anyway? Depending on the party, they won't even be the first to run out of TP, specially if you aren't wasting TP against solo accorns and such.

What do you even want etheric charge for so early on? Zodiac's ealy problem is that they can attack very few times and etheric charge won't be really useful until maxed, which is esentially at level 10 (unless you completely forgo learning one attack, which would be kinda stupid). All the way to that point, your zodiac will have been this unit that can attack enemies one at a time and will run out of TP in a flash.
They really aren't in a position to preach.

>dodge Fencer in the demo
>good

That design is utter garbage, specially in context. Get her some actual clothes.

I used Zodiac with esthetic charge to genocide FOE singlehandedly at the start of the game. I mean sure you had to recharge between every hippo but that's one less hippo around

>wifing sluts

And until they reach that point they're just baggage, while warlock at least can contribute to killing stuff.
I'd say zodiac is actually the mage class with the roughest start, but that probably goes to one of alchemist's four iterations.

>seems better
>good
???

Why yes, if you look better than a good class, you must be good yourself.
