Good thread, OP.
The best in weeks.

Finally a good OP.

3DS Emunand is 11.0, and I keep getting stuck in the Nintendo 3DS screen when I try to play Pokemon Silver. Some user in the previous thread recommended updating to 11.3(?) How should I update the firmware via e-shop, or is there another way to fix this error I'm not aware of?

BUMP OF LIFE!

If your sysnand is 11.0 too, then do Browserhax to setup B9S, then update to 11.6, should work perfectly then, it does for me

*Soundhax

Holy shit, not Browserhax, why did i confuse the two?

What's generally better, Cias from websites or Freeshop? If it's the former, what are some good sites that have Cias?

...

my 3ds xl is at 11.0 so gonna hack it soon too
how do you spot good sd card? is it the number in the circle? i guess a faster sd card will have lower loading times or is it neglectable and i should go for a low price one?

Because Nintendo and GameFreak are retards and didn't release Crystal at the same time as G/S on the eShop, and then left the patches actually in the game files, I took it upon myself to make a custom Virtual Console for 3DS that is Pokémon Crystal, with all the official patches applied.

Like the real VC releases, this version of Crystal can trade and battle with the official R/B/Y/G/S from the eShop, and it's more stable than the homebrew patches from several months ago since it's GameFreak's actual patch.

I tested trading/battling with Gold VC, and it works.

Any leak for FE Warriors? Maybe even the seed for the preload?

If reports are to be believed, the crystal patch only removed the phone gimmick splash screen.

Forgot to mention, the Title ID is
>0004000000173400

Thanks senpai.

No, it allows trading/battling with G/S/R/B/Y
Tested it myself. If I didn't do it this way, the connecting features weren't triggered.

is there any patch or something I can download on 11.2 to go online and to do things like use dlc in sanran kaguya?

HTTPwn for NNID services

For future reference, how do you make an inject with patches?

Well, Nintendo left the Crystal patch in the CDN contents of G/S so I just used that one. I have no idea how to actually make patches.

Have a 2DS with 11.0 firmware. Can i still hack it?

read the fucking guide idiot, this isn't reddit

soundhax

Right, but how'd you use it?
Does the injector allow for custom patches?

Neat. I was waiting for crystal before heading back to gen2

I don't know, I didn't use the injector. I manually edited files and hex edited.

Got a PS2 slim. What kind of homebrew can I run on this?

Mainly OPL for loading games off a network share, some very basic emulation, and PS1 games off USB or the network share. Oh and using a Dualshock 3 in games.

70K or 90K?
if 90K, you are out of luck, m80.

What files did you edit? I assume you injected the game and edited the resulting .cia file according to the values in the patch.

How Superstar Saga DX so far, /hbg/ros?

I just want to load games from not-the-fucking-game-slot. I hate having shitloads of DVDs around.
Says SCPH-77001. Do you guys have a guide that I can follow?

Damn, thanks user

Replaced the rom with a Rev A Crystal ROM, made the custom banner.bin and icon.bin, and then hex edited the NCCHinfo and ExHeader files to change the TID

Then repacked it as a CIA

I liked it. 100% both mode. Just wished the main game had something extra added to it.

It's good. I've been playing it in Citra since i get fullspeed on it.
I like it more than I thought I did, and I made some spoofed amiibo for when I transfer the game and saves to my console.

I'm trying to find the offsets in the save files to make a save editor.

Loved the game as a kid and loved the remake. Like the other user said, I wish it added some more content for the main RPG portion of the game though.

I think i fucked up. I updated luma without updating my boot9strap before hand and now im stuck with my 3ds shutting down after turning it on. Can i revert the luma version or whatever? Ive been out of this for months now and im just here for my bi annual update.

alright never mind managed to solve it myself by replacing the boot.firm file with an older version (just in case someone else does the same stupid shit i did)

>Q: Why should I use this?
>A: If you ask yourself that question, this is probably not for you.

Boy don't you just love it when you try to learn about someone's project and they're a condescending prick about it? Seriously though what the heck is this?

I've got a question for anyone who knows shit about rom hacking
It bugs the shit out of me that OoT3D and MM3D have so many functions that require the touch screen, and at the same time half of the buttons on the system do nothing. For example, both start and select are save, why the fuck isn't one of them the items menu? Why isn't up on the dpad first person view? Why can't left and right be items I and II?
So anyway, I was wondering, is it possible to find the function that activates those touch buttons, and map them to real buttons? I've seen a hack of Phantom Hourglass that does that, but no ones done it to these games.

Anyone have a good guide for installing a SATA drive into an xbox? I've done a hard mod and jumped the two points and installed a bigger IDE drive but I'm feeling like I need more space.

For some 3DS games, I'll install a CIA and when I go to launch it it just endlessly sticks at the "Nintendo3DS" screen that pops up when you're booting a game. Does this mean the file was no good? Did I somehow install it wrong? Can anybody help me with this?

So what's the word on playing 3.61+ games on Vita?

What is a good SD card adapter for the Vita? I believe I read a few months ago about the impending release of an adapter that replaced the SIM card reader with something that read SD cards. But now, I'm seeing a bunch of different ones that I don't know which is actually worth purchasing or if they'll work as intended.

Reminder: 3.61+ Vita anigaymes not worth waiting for.

Some games require a higher firmware version, so, answer these questions
1. Which games gave you that problem?
2. Firmware version?

I just tried a different download and this time it worked. No idea what the problem is, firmware is up to date AFAIK.

two words, actually. one starts with an N and the other with an E

It needed the seed imported

> get around to hacking my Vita tv
> install all the usual shit
> can't get games to run
Fuck it, I'll get around to finishing this shit later
Maybe I'll play some PSP stuff

>Oh and using a Dualshock 3 in games.
Do tell more.

Why the fuck would anyone want to use a ds3 over the much better ds2?

Ever tried to find a brand new original Dualshock 2 these days? It's all counterfeit shit.

Can anyone give me a qr? too lazy to use ftp and my card reader died.

By the way, we really need a wiki page. Learning about PS2 homebrew these days is a nightmare, it's all spread throughout shitty youtube videos, ancient forum posts with outdated knowledge, long dead links and 3rd world manuscripts. Just like jumping on the PS3 train, come to think of it. Must be a Sony thing.

homebrew-general.wikia.com/wiki/PlayStation_2

It's because the respective scenes are dead

emulation killed the ps2 modding scene

All the more reason to come up with a definitive guide. At least someone aped a simple, straight forward image guide for the Xbox Huge article.

That's silly, you still need strong hardware to emulate PS2.

>That's silly, you still need strong hardware to emulate PS2.

At least in my area, using a guide it's not that important because most used systems sold already have some form of mod.
Also, to my knowledge, the xbox hueg scene is/was, big.

Would you consider sub-100% performance emulation? I wouldn't.

Really depends on the country. That's the way it is here, but I'd really prefer to know about all homebrew options. I had no idea I could use DS3/DS4 until now, for example. Or that there's a version of Free MC Boot for the network adapter HDD a few months ago. Or that you can run virtual memory cards from the HDD. Or that what people call playing PS1 from the HDD is actually a jury-rigged software emulator from Sony and not putting the PS1 hardware to use at all. The list goes on.

it's a feature in OPL but it has limited compatibility. in a lot of games it will think the controller's disconnected when it isn't, and you'll have to reconnect it.
it also has too much latency to be practically usable for rhythm games.

now emilio

Well, fuck.

Sounds about right, though.

>"I made a thing"
>"Yeah, but why should I use YOUR thing?"
>"If you don't like it, you shouldn't."
>"GEE, WHAT A PRICK I WAS JUST ASKING A POLITE QUESTION"

i.e. in burnout 3, it will disconnect after each loading screen, after every time you crash, after you go back to the race after crashing, basically anytime there's a screen transition
in ultimate spider-man it will disconnect seemingly randomly unrelated to what you're doing
i don't remember which games worked fine because i haven't tried it lately and the ones that don't work leave more of an impression, but there's also a good amount of games it worked with.

>page 9
soon my 3ds will be hack at 11.5
>litterally updated from 11.4 to 11.5 the day before 11.6 man I dodged a bullet there

setup servefile and you can directly install it with fbi without keeping the file on your sd

why are you on 11.2?

Anyone?

sd2vita goes in the cartridge slot, yifanlu made one that can use the sim slot if you have a vita with 3g. both have open designs if you want to make your own, otherwise there are a few people producing versions of the sdvita. not sure if you can buy a premade 3g adapter

If I already have cfw installed with b9s and Luma is it safe to update my firmware as Nintendo releases updates? Still kinda new with having all this

Leak when

Ye but always let others test first

noob here
how safe is it to go online and play multiplayer games with a cfw 3ds?
just followed the guide for my own 3ds, everything ok, but now my brother is pestering me to do it to his 3ds too. I only play single player games but he's a pokefag

100% safe but be sure to have wifi off when playing leak games

Pretty safe if you don't play leaked games online or hack in MP.

what is MP?

Obviously multiplayer

Is a CECH 2504B Data Code 1A PS3 hackable or not? I keep getting mixed signals about it.

Can't you just get a hacked console?

Thanks bro, injected my current Crystal save into it.

you should really get a qr add-on, user

I can but if I already have one why not try and jb it?

You mad man. Thanks.

come on note hax

Is it possible to have a hacked 3DS and hacked Wii U use the same SD card, or is there an overlap in files and such?

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible, but it sounds stupid.

Anyone here able to give me a quick rundown on Taiko no Tatsujin homebrew stuff? I played the first and second 3DS game quite a bit, just grabbed the third one now. I think I heard you could get some sort of modded DLC to get the songs from all three games into the third one. That sounds great to me.

agreed, what the fuck lol

I'd rather not buy another SD card.
Probably will anyway, since sharing space for 3DS games AND Wii U games on a 16 gb SD Card doesn't sound very fun.

sds are very cheap nowadays, get a job, nigger

you should share this outside of /hbg/ as well, don't be a jew, Mr. Hackerman

anyone can share this anywhere user, just copy and paste the links

So is anything doable with a

there's a good kernel exploit on 3.0.0 and below, but there's a good chance that it will end up like the vita and lock you out of 3.0.1+ games forever if you want to use it

Alright, guess I'll wait
