I struggle more with games that have long H scenes. I enjoyed the scenes in kichikuou and 6 more than the later games like IX because the scenes were a lot shorter and we got a lot more variety.

Get the No intro rom set for clean roms. The good set will include a lot of pre patched roms. Other patches are on micro-64. I got DK64 to work but I never tried playing the other games you listed.

To each their own. Model 2 units are much more reliable than model 1 with less moving parts. All I had to do was replace the fuse and fiddle with the laser gear a little and it's still reading CD-Rs to this day
