Rarely goes over 100$ per track. But I'm ultra flexible and like to negociate with people.

When people are interested and contact me, I ask them what they want, what are their budget, and find good terms.

Like that last guy I'm now friend with, he wanted a youtube music intro. I made him a free demo of 30 secondes. He liked the idea so I pursued and he got a 1 minute track. 20$ for 6-7 hours of work.

This year I also made a 10 tracks 8-bit OST for a coming up flash game, for 600$, including mixing and unlimited modifications. The guys were not in a hurry.

If your skillset is lopsided, then you should definitely look into doing commissioned work to pay for assets in your weakest field.

I believe Pedrovin does commissioned artwork, since he's so good at drawing thicc characters, and uses that to pay for his music?

I've personally done a quick programming job (bugfixing someone's lighting plugin problems), and it was basically like two hours of work for 100$. Even just that's enough to pay for a few portraits that would take me weeks to do (though really, I just spent it on video games).

A dev that makes use of this trading will have better assets and finish his project much faster than the purely solo dev. The solo dev's project will take much longer to reach a comparable level of polish, and/or have a generally uglier project, because their level of skill in art and music will be worse than the specialists.

From what I know of your game, I don't think you should use content that sexual, because it does go beyond the tone of your game. The character designs just happen to be particularly curvy, but other than that, it's a pretty wholesome game, right? If you still want to have a picture along that line, I'd just reduce the amount of scissoring going on with the interlocked legs.

Your cons of MV are fewer icons and sounds? Then just import them from VXA.

Upon further inspection on MV i've noticed that most of the resources are either less or less varied. I got no room to talk since i cant draw for shit but they got no excuse considering how Ace did have more varied content.

Fuck i also forgot. Yes i thought of importing stuff i want, but when it comes to icons, wouldnt they be pretty small on MV since everything is upscaled?

What are you talking about? Ace rehashed VX's resources. It's character generator is nightmare fuel. It's essentially nothing but heros for a tower/dungeon crawler. It's wasn't intended to do worldwide adventures in multiple climates and cultures. - Just different skinned dungeons. Fire, crystal, flesh, ect...

MV came with Modern/Scifi resources and traveling nomads in conjunction with it's "Mobile" theme.
However, unless you make some kind of time traveling game, you're not going to use all these resources together.
It's got the same weakness VX resources had, in that, you're pretty much stuck making forests and castle towns. It doesn't have the NPCs or monsters to populate the desert and snow regions.
Both have a Japanese DLC, for what it's worth.

Im aware of each program's theme, im just saying that Ace has a bit more variety when it comes to thinks like icons, premade-characters and sounds. Like for example MV only got around half the music tracks Ace has and its icons are too generic and "mobile friendly" kinda like you mentioned before. The strong points of MV for me is its greatly improved character generator and the simplicity of having side-view. If Ace had these i'd stick to it, but now im having trouble picking which one i'd use to make stuff. The generic fantasy resources are more than enough for me, and yes i also have the samurai DLC on Ace.

So, what should i go for? Im having a hard time to pick because each version has stuff i'd want to use or else i'd feel like my shitty game will be even more shitty.

My old time favourite is Hero's Realm and my current favourite is Shattered Hourglass, its fucking creator still non stop adding content to his finished game. Also I can't wait to see Hero's Realm's new version, i believe its gonna be commercial
