There is no campaign depth in Atilla, jesus christ. You build toilets everywhere and half the buildings might as well not exist because you can't justifiy constructing them.
So you have one, two military provinces at the absolute most and then every other new conquest is build up in the exact same way, zero thinking. No difference to Warhammer at all.

I really enjoy that game, but the campaign depth in Attila is overstated. I mean it is deeper than most total wars, but just barely and that doesn't mean a lot. Shogun 2 feels deeper at times because of the harder endgame and bigger late game AI empires. These things that Attila is kinda lacking are more important than minor family tree mechanics and disease. It seems like the AI in TWW2 manages to make big empires towards the endgame which is good.

Attila is a solid game, but it is far from a total war holy grail or whatever because of its problems.

Tough call. Beastmen had the easiest battles but vamps and brets had easiest empire building. I'm gonna say wood elves were the easiest campaign because of how they had to win. You can just chill in the forest and ally everyone then fight your battle
