How is dead determined on the scale?

are we talking 0 for zero life dead or 10 for very very dead

Grinding mobs and BAMs still take 2.5 hours... The quest chain takes like 2 hours, then it's 1 hour of grind or something.

I think they meant they got a unique/hard to get name so even though they can change it fine they won't be able to use that name anymore

Happened to a lot of people, I cant say I blame anyone for being salty about having to choose a new name at all much less one that could have even been worth hundreds of thousands of gold depending on the rarity of it.

Grind dungeons+story quest/bam grind while queuing. Can go faster if you get a person to carry you through sabex/mcat, though helps to have a group.

I havent lost any characters or names in WoW, FFXV or Guild Wars even though I havent logged in years... So no, its not something normal.

I kind of expect it on any game where servers merge, which none of those has had a server merger.

Well thats also part of the thing that user was upset about. Sure, you should expect a namechange when servers merge but that user would have left at a high point in Tera and you don't often hear about smaller MMOs that you don't actively play so they probably just didn't know or expect servers to so drastically merge and come back to being forced out of a name. In hindsight it should be obvious what would happen but really its just shitty all around.

yes, this game gen is super dead. Veeky Forums does not have a very big impact/community on the game anymore, used to around P2P launch and F2P/Steam launches.

After joining Dump last night, they seemed to be decently sized, why don't more of their members post? Where are all the avatar fags? You're right about the community in the threads seeming small, but there were plenty of people in game!

People didn't like the avatar fags and just constantly shit posted them, so people just get tired of it. And sure, TFT/Dump have a decent number of people, but not what there used to be with like 60/30~ or more people on respectively. And people just don't post cause there's little to post about. Occasional news from Ktera and that's about it.

The avatarfags are the ones that are generally posting to keep the thread alive as far as I can tell.

Why would you guys scare off all the avatarfags? They are usually the backbone of any MMO general, and the only thing that can sustain and keep alive a thread when interest in the game is waning.

How does mobbing even work in this game? Sometimes 1-3 mobs die from balders vengeance, and another 20 just are barely affectted by it, instead just continue to run at me... Other times they all just die.

because people found them annoying and just love to stir up drama and shitpost about everyone and everything. They were also more active when the game was actually alive and all, most quit/moved on forever ago.
Most abilities split damage between mobs, maximum DPS for any class that doesn't have a move that ignore the split is 3 mobs at once. Only zerker/slayer/sorc have abilities that ignore the damage split.

it will depend on your ping, but if you have over like 50 it will, yes. Or even just spamming the button really hard. Same goes for archer rapid fire.

Nerf it in other ways then, but making a class struggle with CD locks is just retarded, even when you're going full CDR.
I wonder if KTERA has that issue fixed with talents, like cdr and attack speed talents, so lancer doesn't feel like a slug most of the time.

I think berserker has the same issue, if you acually get good at it. Though, it's probably fixed if you add a CDR line, but that "requires" vm/4th line.

How dead is this on EU compared to NA? And how horrible would the ping be playing cross continent?
It's a real turnoff when the choices are playing on a completely dead region with a shit publisher or being locked to a couple classes because of latency.

At first it sounded like you were from EU, but then it started sounding that you're from NA.

Use tera-proxy and (most of) your ping problems are gone!

You're not using skills properly if you're actually struggling with being cd locked, shield bash+onslaught during large openings will entirely take care of that. Even without onslaught if you know how to weave filler skills you wont be wasting cds and have higher dps uptime.

It's pretty rare that you can fit in a full onslaught between attacks, it has to be some mechanic or back attack for that.
Even then, that saves you only for the duration of onslaught, then you're right back to CD locks.

Fillers like lockdown blow are practically worthless, super long animation lock, and does absolutely minuscule damage, even when you glyph it for damage it's the lowest damaging skill (shield bash is lower I guess). I wonder if not even auto attack is a better filler. I can't be bothered to test that though.

Also, you're basically saying "you should be waiting and doing nothing if you know you can't get all the hits out on spring attack!". That is bullshit, it's the same as being cd locked.

If your counter is on cd theres no reason not to eat a hit to get the full onslaught in. So long as you wont die or get cc'd by the hit of course. And by fillers i mean more SB and Counter, if you properly rotate them with alternating wallops and onslaught you dont have to poke all that many times with auto attack.

Plus during arush and with glyph, the onslaughts are extremely fast, can fit in between attacks and you can get away with two in one arush, one at the start and one at the end.

Also, if you know you're about to get cd locked its better to just slow cast wallop on purpose to trigger a block for counter if you'll put counter on cd a few seconds faster from it.

There's no problem with cd locks during arush, so that's kinda pointless.
Tanking 45-90k for a full onslught is gonna put more pressure on the healer, and it's not worth it.

Oh, and Wallop, is like the shittiest skill. It doesn't add or preserve stacks, so it's almost a no go at the start.
It's just plain and simply poor design all around, it needs a rework.

Yep, during initial enrage it's like half of your blocks, that means it takes double as long do build up your stacks. It's a shitty skill.
It doesn't even deal that much damage, since it never crits anyway.

All the best lancers in this game put pressure on the healer, if they cant handle healing 45-90k every 20s they shouldnt be healing. Nevermind that it wont be hitting that hard because onslaught reduces damage taken by 50%. Losing aggro to actually good dps is significantly more pressure on the healer because you dont know how to manage health to push dps. A good healer wont shit themselves from a tiny amount of damage dealt like that, especially if you can keep yourself safe if you want to. Its all about control in sacrificing hp to fit in more attacks without truly putting the healer in a bad place.

Theoretically speaking too, if you're truly cd locked while maintaining optimum rotation you should have the highest parses in the game at that. If you arent managing the best parses because other tanks are fitting in much more skills than you, than you should probably look at where the difference is. Which is your issue with cd locks thats bad enough that you want to revamp the entire class.

I can also point out where you're having issues with improper skill usage. Like waiting for both shield barrage and spring attack to be off cd for you to start your combo. Using lockdown blow instead of starting your shield barrage and then hitting spring attack the moment its off cd is a huge dps loss.

Someone told in global chat devs are giving priest 4% party-wide cdr. He was googletranslating KTERA patch notes. I don't think that's translated on any web site yet. Makes sense since attackspeed is getting higher and higher all the time.

Its not all a big deal. Attack speed has diminishing returns as you stack it, but cooldown has increased returns as you stack it. CD lock will become less and less of a thing as power creep continues on

And an extra protip, even with proper skill management you'll have some cd lock, but if you rotate properly with knowledge of the bosses attacks, then you'll sort yourself out so you're cd locked when you cant attack them anyways.
