im not sure if the stealth is shittier or harder than pd2's
and there is still no way to manipulate guards despite LGL being able to look at 4 years worth of criticism for pd2's stealth mechanics, yet they do everything worse

And then I play online and enemies instantly alert if they so much as see my little toe.

The problem honestly seems to be that the guards fuckhuge view distance makes it so if you're sneaking by and somebody 30 meters behind you also happens to enter the same guard's view then his detection meter skyrockets and fucks you up. Even worse is since the first person to enter the guard's view was you, the other person wont get a detection notification so he might not even realise he's raising a guard's suspicion until he's already alerted.
