I want to translate a game that was made in Unity.
If I have the .unity file, would I need anything more than the Unity program for making/editing games?
Is it free or easy to pirate?

It doesn't. I've asked this question around before in generals it was relevant to and google. The closest result I get is someone's external program that doesn't work, but never an actual answer.

I am not sure how Unity does it. But for example for android apps it puts all the strings in a single place so all you need to do is just click a box and write the translation for each each string of text.

I think I get what you're saying. Works somewhat similar in RPGmaker.
I'm installing a free version of Unity though because I need something that will actually open these files.

That's a resource file for the android app. Unity totally supports many powerful methods of using resource files for your text to aid in translation... but I'm going to wager more often than not the developers are plastic shitheads who hardcode half of their text.

Is there anything out there that's like a nondeterministic finite state machine? I want to implement one for my game but I dislike the idea of only being able to be in a single state at the same time; what if you want your character to be in the jumping state and invincible state at the same time? I'm thinking about implementing it so that each state can transition to either another state or a null state, which represents the termination of that branch of execution. In addition, the null state can transition to as many states as it wants at one time. Is this a terrible idea, has this already been implemented, or might it work?

Jumping and invincible wouldn't conceivably be in the same state machine in the first place.

Question, is it possible to create a script (or modify part of one) during runtime in Unity? The script would already be written (it would be encoded in a string) and of course it would not execute untill it is finished.

invincibility wouldn't need it's own state to begin with. It would just need to be a boolean that the damage function would need to check for.

I don't have code for it anymore but it should be easy to research how to do it. google for "compile c# at runtime"

take note that Unity uses Mono, so the commands may slightly be different from most examples you see, which assumes .NET
