The problem with being a killer in DR is that you usually end up being an one dimensional character and v3 shows that the best with the exception of chapter 5. That's why victims usually dies during their developments and are usually more interesting than their killers (of course, not a golden rule, see yamada for example). So basically, the killers only have the trials to show more of their characters, which isn't enough.

There are a lot of problems with Kirumi and her methods but she got really, really fucked over by the hicshon mindhacc and at the very least she didn't target him for personal reasons
