I just got to hateno village and feel like sidetracking besides shrines is pointless. Will I miss anything actually fun/worthwhile if I stop sidetracking? Fighting the 20th generic goblin camp isn't fun.

farm, no, unless you go back to the area you found it in ever blood moon. certain weapons will always be in that spot, and certain enemies in certain areas will always have the same weapon, e.g. that one lizal with an eightfold longblade by that one shrine surrounded by brambles.

Much like the combat difficulty, money expenditures are horribly balanced. I'll admit that few RPGs actually handle money, but BotW is unique int hat you can't farm it off battle encounters. You're practically shoved into farming, meaning there's only ever too circumstances you'll be in: having too little money or having too much.

For example, I don't use potions much, so bugs and monster parts are an easy sell for me unless I'm aiming to upgrade some clothes.
