Cherry-picking some of the biggest known cases is not really convincing anyone. That's the same logic as looking at Microsoft and Apple and claiming "all start-ups create billionaires". How about we look at the tens of thousands of startups that fial and you never hear about them?
How about looking at the tens of thousands of fraud attempts that don't work, get caught, get sentences for years in prison for pocket change? Does crime still look like it's paying?

Hell.rob a bank with a gun - near guaranteed caught with high minimum sentencing.
