CB is mainly a piece of shit weapon because it defies what this series once was about, is hyper-unrealistic, looks as heavy as a GS but is swung around like a SnS, does laser shots and just feels overcomplicated and shitty to play.

15 flashbombs and make them count (which is easy as hell with Rathian), focus on legs and make her trip, attack wings/back after she tripped, use the right element/best weapon you have, use a fast weapon that lets you dodge any time (DB, IG), use traps when she is exhausted/drooling.

If you want her equipment, obviously. Otherwise no. If you want to cut and destroy body parts, you shouldn't solo those pieces of shit, though. That's another story.

What is Silver Rathalos' element weakness in 3rd? Wikia has the exact same numbers for Goldian and Silver Los and says they both are weakest to thunder.

Just a turns room with randoms that I joined. Took a couple of people leaving and joining, but eventually a few people settled in for the long haul.

Gen was really good for random turn hubs. And there was always at least one to be found. Probably the only thing I really liked about the game.

Lance also works pretty well, easy to stick to the legs, and the only thing that does chip damage through blocking is the explosive fireballs (and if you block the fireball itself, the explosion vanishes and you take no damage)

You actually don't need Guard for most monsters, it just makes their shit take less stamina to block, but eating for Black Belt or getting a set with Constitution covers that well enough, plus makes your evades cost less.

Capcom knows it would be stupid to make a Monster Hunter with no transition between areas and an emphasis on monster interactions and then NOT include this guy, right?

Speaking of which, have we seen Dung Bombs at all in World yet? I wonder how they'll work. I guess the map is still kinda divided into Zones, just without loading screens. so maybe it'll just make monsters fuck off to somewhere a few rooms away.

Let's say you block the Rathian's roar or her tail spin, wouldn't the recovery animation be longer without any Guard?

You can guard advance through attacks that don't chip (costs extra stam of course) or counter if you want no pushback animation at all. The light pushback animation, for attacks that don't chip, is negligable in my experience in the cases where you can't sidestep out of the way or through the attack. And for heavier attacks, some chip damage is still better than eating shit.

Deviljho is pure gameplay perfection. He is fun with literally every single weapon in the game.

Usually everyone is hugging the monster's face, but with Deviljho the Hammer user is focusing on the face and everyone else is focusing on legs and belly. You are not hitting your comrades with Hammer and can deliver KOs, which actually last long.

His hitboxes are large and you always hit what you actually want to hit (when trying to hit Nargacuga's or Diablos' belly, you often hit any hitzone but the belly). And the hit lag when landing a fully charged GS attack on his red, throbbing belly with a Great Sword is the best feeling in the world.

Please don't compare Deviljho with this new piece of shit monster from World, btw.

I've been using the Sword and Shield so far as recommended.

I hated 4U and skipped Gen and XX entirely.

I don't even know why everyone acts like SnS is some kind of tutorial weapon just because it has a (shitty) shield you should never use and you can drink potions with weapon drawn. One of its gimmicks is that you can also place bombs, traps and team-centered items without sheathing, and you can't spam this stuff in early game.

The people who say that often give some petty, retarded reason for saying it though.
Generations is a fun game; it does have its share of bullshit but it also has some pretty cool fights, some nice looking new weapons and some of the style/weapon combinations are very satisfying to use.

It's got good mobility and the shield is an added safety net

I got 200 hours out of it, it's not like it's awful or anything but the new stuff is all over the place in quality. Mostly I really hate what they did with armor skills/slots, fucking awful selection and no fucking slots even compared to 4U's High Rank. You either need a god charm for whatever you're going for, or you're stuck with like one of three sets that got all the good skills.

World and Gen apologists will bring our downfall.

Are they bringing back GQ in World? That was the best part of 4U for me as they were actually challenging.

Literally everything about GQs was awful except the difficulty and the difficulty was mostly shitty one-hit-kill attacks or trial and error to even out the idiot-proof gameplay since 3U that allows you to cancel revovery animations.

They can give monsters one-hit-kill attacks like this and make them very fast without bringing back the whole shitty GQ formula with random RNG zones or making only one monster a viable option with by far the best droprates for relicts (Rajang in MH4U).

We don't need G Rank and all that padding either. They can just make High Rank harder. People need to understand this basic thing.

None. They might just as well get rid of the whole retarded rank system in general since it's nothing but padding.

They also want World to be more realistic again. "Hurr, now you have access to super-hard quests only for the best hunters. Oh, you will fight the exact same monsters all over again but they're magically stronger now" is not really realistic or immersive, though.

The only "realism" they've wanted to add to World is improved monster behavior, it's still a fucking video game at the end of the day.
