It was fun, probably the best gameplay of the series although I'm probably just saying that because Haruka was crazy good in it. The Yoma stuff was cool and the DLC was nice too.

Real talk. How do we fix the group dynamic of Gessen? In all the games they are featured in they have been the hands down most boring and lifeless group to play as, even beating out Hanzo which is suppose to be the designated "normal" group of the cast. Gessen only gets interesting scenes when it literally involves girls from other groups stepping to actually do something.

Honestly, I loved Shiki's whole thing with Gessen as a concept, it's just that there's little to no synergy within that group. Hell, Shiki's one of my top five Senrans, and I was struggling to really care about her whole arc. Shiki starts it, and resolves it herself. All the Gessen girls really do is wait for her to decide. It's boring, and it really wastes a nice bit of character development.

Best game in the series.

Well the Crimsons usually do have the best storyline. Hopefully EV was just a low point for them.

Awesome gameplay, cool Yoma designs, and great DLC. The only (minor) problem for me is the lack of grinding stages aside 2-09, and the slow leveling progress.

The gessen story in SV would have been better had the final chapter involved them fighting each other. That's what I thought it was building up to.

You have an entire storyline of Yumi's team not really agreeing with Yumi's motivations and beliefs to the point that basically everyone has decided that what they're doing is wrong, near the end, but instead of any confrontation everyone just stays quiet and fights Hanzo anyway.

It's like half the story was pointless.

I really want to eat one of those one day. They look delicious and kinda remind me of dampfnudeln. Those are sweet though.

I think they do have good inter group dynamics Yo and Minori, Shiki and Kumo, but (and I know this has been said so many times) Yumi is kind of a weak link. And I don't think it's a lack of personality, she is just very reserved and proper with no one to really bounce off her. Even the "puri" shit just seems to come and go whenever they think it'll be funny. Contrast this with Asuka, while she has a typical "upbeat and happy" main character personality it allows her to interact with most of the character pretty well. I don't think Yumi is a bad secondary character, she's a bad main character. It's like putting Hikage at the center of the story with no Crimson Squad or Katsuragi to have fun with.

Except for Minori, the others didn't feel like they were sad at all and felt more like "Oh, you're leaving. Well good luck". Gessen doesn't feel like a close group at all, it feels more like the girls are just together for fulfilling Kurokage's dream.

SK2 had a really nice shading and lighting engine and the way it rendered breasts was befitting of a series that's supposed to be about boobs (though to be fair the boobs physics are MUCH better in PBS)

Ayame is cute but I got some serious Poochie vibes from her in the game.

Like seriously half of the Hanzo story is about Ayame and how Ayame is the new team member and how everyone loves Ayame and how Ayame is so great.

Also I was under the impression that Katsuragi didn't like Ayame based off her NW characterization.

I liked Ayame when the only thing I know about her was that she was the shopkeeper.
Now I find her annoying.

Well, she's going to be nu-Katsuragi so they need to solidify some sort of relationship with
the Hanzo girls. Also come on, be real, most of the Hanzo story is Ikaruga angst. Not that that's too egregious.

She isn't that bad, but despite being a prevalent character in the series she doesn't offer much when it comes to interaction with other girls, which most of the fans come for.
Except for Hikage'e eyes, the models in general were good. Especially Mirai's.

Ayame and pretty much the entire hanzo school is the worst in new wave. The other schools have received good events that fleshed out each one. Not nw hanzo though.

Yumi is a character who loses nearly all of her charm when translated into another language.

She goes from "Oh my goodness this woman is a treasure of feudal Japan this is how Japanese women are supposed to be--ready and willing to devote every fiber and being to their man and nation without hesitation while still being strong and resolute."

Yumi's dialogue is nuanced. Its greatest appeal isn't what she says but the pace at which she says it. She's always calm, collected, and modest when speaking and she speaks just like a maiden from feudal Japan.

So why do the Japanese find something like that appealing? Because in the age of sluts, Yumi is a breath of fresh air. We already know that lots of Japanese buy into the purity meme, but her design takes it even further because not only is her virginity intact but she remains unfucked by the modern age as well.

Part of the reason why men seek 2D is because 3D girls can be opportunistic and self centered and take advantage of men in exchange for personal gain. 2D characters don't betray them, but even so, most still operate based on modern society's rules where men are supposed to do and provide everything.
