Selena and Barst are always nice to have since Reposition is powerful.

Colorless is definitely a trap. Klein, Innes and Lyn are the best outcomes and Klein is only good for his skills.

You can just go with breakers, the most useful ones being sword, red tome and bow. You'd have to switch them around depending on who you want to counter, so I understand how that could be a hassle.
Alternatively just go QR2, the difference is minimal.

Shield Pulse works with abilities that don't activate from the you attacking, rather it activates from abilities that work if you yourself are being attacked. So it -should- work with miracle.

Shield Pulse works with Miracle. I ran into an arena team that had an Azura with Miracle, with the charge reduced by Killer Lance, Shield Pulse, and an ally's Infantry Pulse that put Miracle at 1 charge
